GiantBomb - TitanFall framerate in mech combat is not fixed in Xbox One retail code

Well Gamersglobal.de mentioned in their negatives section for graphics that the Xbone version suffers from frame rate drops, tearing and too much aliasing.

Maybe they could have gotten it to run better if they had more time, but gotta get shit out before the fiscal year ends!

IMO this is kinda redeeming for CBOAT.

IW/Respawn are all about gameplay smoothness. I can totally imagine a scenario where Zampella went to EA/MS, said they need to drop res and texture quality, but were refused.

No, just no. This in no way redeems CBOAT's alpha res rumor.

Not that I feel we need to crucify CBOAT over it either, though.

Watch the reviews not reflect this lol For a multiplayer only game, a solid framerate is a prime component for a stellar experience.

This sentence seems to confirm the bots being cloud-based which is gonna make latency issues very noticeable.
Giant Bomb said:
In pre-release testing, I ran into a few cases where the latency would spike, causing AI opposition to seize up and enemy titans to halt, mid-dash.

I've seen some complaints about lackluster optimization on the PC, too. I haven't tried it yet but I'm a bit worried about how it's going to play on my mid-range machine.

Fix this shit Guerrilla.

I hope that they can pull it off with post-launch patches.

Source engine?

Holy hell. This comment won't die no matter how often one repeats that the game has a completely new renderer.

Umm...We are having a few issues over here. If someone would be so kind as to hit the cloud reset button, that would be great.

Thanks,
Respawn

Figures its Titans related. The only visual thing i think looks good in the game are the Titan animations, everything is else is forgettable from a visual perspective

I hope they use a better engine next time around, perhaps Frostbite

Sadly, Frostbite3 cannot be licensed outside of EA. That's now their internal engine.

I really hope that they will not stick with modified Source when they go with full nextgen-only release with Titanfall 2.

GB obviously wasn't playing in an environment where they were able to have the benefit of the cloud. I'm sure that would have eliminated this issue.

Seriously though, I think people are making a mountain out of a molehill with this. Jeff described an occurrence that in all likelihood is fairly rare. While not ideal and the screen tearing is actually more of an annoyance, I think overall this isn't going to be that big a deal.

Just a reminder, the game looks like this:

and not only can it not maintain the advertised 60 FPS, but it actually drops into the single digits.

Is Jeff really the only one reporting on this shit amidst an avalanche of 9's?

Incredible.

Not terribly shocking. It's pretty clear game reviewers could care less about technical flaws when they've been won over by the marketing/hype of the game.

So it's the same experience with the Beta. Honestly, what bothers me more is the tearing.

It's still going to be awesome though.

so play on the pc

you already know this version has a not that great resolution and doesnt look that great

if you care about these things get these games on the computer

So hold up.

If this is a problem in the finished, retail game... how the fuck is it still getting such high review scores?

I mean, it's easy to just say money's changing hands, and I wouldn't be surprised if that really was the case... but can reviewers genuinely be this blind to such a glaring issue in a multiplayer shooter, where framerate absolutely matters?

This sounds like bullshit. They have an entire mode for the Titans and those seem to be the source of the problems.

The scores are clearly not taking these things into account and that's why video game journalism is a farce.
The game is a lot of fun, but you can't excuse this shit. They pulled the same bullshit with skyrim.
Remember when resolution didn't really matter over the last few months? Now apparently for some of these reviewers framerate doesn't either? And bad framerate directly hinders fun.
