PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4) | March 2014

No, I think it being as revered as it is could have raised your expectations too much. I got a bit of an emotional response from it, but I played it only hearing that "the game is good" rather than what I would get from the experience. And to be fair it wasn't overwhelming in any way. Still, I did enjoy the game quite a bit and can see why others feel the way they do about it.

I enjoyed it thoroughly, but I think Brad (GB) ruined/raised my expectations to such a point where I was severely let down.

Games media loves too much the word "emotional". The game was quite good just as I expected and I didn't payed too much attention to reviews until I finished the game. I like to compare my opinions with what game journalists say.

I downloaded it without knowing what to expect, I didn't even know the control input lol.

Maybe I just missed some more "brother" moments, since most of their interaction is limited to gameplay.

I loved the section when they are climbing through the castle and they're both tied to a rope. Really good idea imo. I think I'll do another playthrough for the trophies in a week or so :)

So this mobile game is coming to Vita and ps3/4

Does any one know if Tiny Troopers is actually any good?

http://punkandlizard.com/tiny-trooper-joint-ops-heading-to-all-playstation-platforms/

It says:

The game will be transformed into a twin stick arcade experience

It'll be like a totally different game than the original experience, which was adapted for touch screen input. Here is a gameplay video. I'll suppose they'll rebalance everything to make it a good arcade shooter.

Time to preorder Infamous. Hopefully the promo runs all day the 18th because I plan on picking up FFX and MGS digitally as well.

I take back anything bad I may have said about you

:lol
I mean it's decent but the combat is terrible and wtf is up with this needless XP system. It's like it's only there so they could check a checklist. From what I've played so far the game seems like it' be much better without it

I could (and have) written diatribes about everything I think is wrong with the game, but I'm not gonna get into here as even I don't want to hear myself talk about it anymore.

I gave them a call to get back my ID from another e-mail adress (that apparently blocks their mails), the guy was really nice and helpful, until he saw the old mail address contained a different name from the time I entered fake names because I didn't want companies to have my personal info
Oh to be young and new to the internet again.

I hope it won't cause problems, I want my username back ;(
Serves me well, I won't reserve usernames years in advance next time.

Just got my skinny pink vita in. Initial impressions are strange. I've only dinked around the menus for a couple minutes but it's enough for some initial impressions I think. First the elephant in the room, the screen.

Its a double edged sword. I wasn't expecting the black level to be as bright as it is, on the other hand all the other problems are completely resolved. Despite lacking the insane contrast ratio, the lcd panel is shockingly crisp and surprisingly warm in its color reproduction. With all signs of mura, weird vertical lines, and sub pixel grain far removed it is overall much more accurate and clean in its presentation. What it lacks in contrast it makes up for in clarity. The initial impressions of veiwing it at a glance are unfavorable but I think once I get used to it I could easily see myself not missing the 1000 at all. Most of the initial shock at the contrast on my part was due to the default brightness being cranked way too high. On the plus side the screen can be dimmed much further than the OG vita which will make it more appropriate for late night gaming sessions.

I honestly hesitate to call it a downgrade necessarily. There's definitely some drawbacks but it's really more of a side grade if anything. Also it's a big relief to not have to worry about oled burn in on this thing.

Other notes:

While it doesn't seem like it in pictures the trimmed thickness and slightly wider body make this much, much more comfortable to hold.

The buttons all feel so much better. The 1000 model always felt a little to tight in its button presses for my taste. They still depress quickly and with a notable click but they're easier to depress. This same notion applies to both the PS button and the start and select buttons which sport a much improved shape and are infinitely easier to select. Triggers have also been improved dramatically. They feel much snappier and I don't even have to loosen a screw on the back!

I can't tell exactly how but I think the wider body and improved ergonomics help better place the speakers between the thumb and forefinger rather than directly beneath the thumb.

I can't speak to the functionality of the smaller rear touch pad but the extra finger room is a welcome addition.

The stupid fucking PS button no longer glows, PRAISE BE TO CTHULHU!

Overall it feels a lot like the time I first picked up a DSi. Its just overall very, very nice.

Grace Chen Time makes a return!

yep... same as last time, with the UK release, the day of release the game instantly goes "temporarily out of stock"

it must be some kind of Amiga meta-joke to continuously promote, put it up for sale, and then never release it

ToukidenGAF must be hammering the servers for those DLCs, thus summoning back GCT.
(two of them are already up)

edit: oh, and

vita 2000 impressions

Thanks for sharing. Everytime I read some Vita 2000 impressions I feel the urge to put my hands on one.
Unfortunaly, I doubt I'll ever see one unless I import it.

That remark regarding the PS button made your post move from informative, to informative and making me chuckle, appreciate it.

Sadly I am waiting for a stateside release and hopefully more than just black.

The combat is great. I don't know what you're talking about.
Tomb Raider 2013 > Uncharted :P

lol there isn't even anything major coming to the store today outside of Dark Souls 2, and towerfall.....it's really kind of sad that Sony still can't seem to get this shit under control.

It's one of those areas in which their competition has a clear advantage.

Have we ever gotten a reason besides "Grace Chen LOL" for why SCEA seems so bad at updating the store?

2PM PST is such a bad time to update it anyway. If they can't get it out at midnight (which they should), they should at least get it out in the morning. This is especially important now that retail games release digitally. If I can pick up a game at Gamestop at 8AM, I should be able to pick it up on the PS Store at 8AM.
