OK Marvel Comics. Where is your "Batman" gaming title?

We're about to have a 4th Batman title and all have been better than any Marvel based super hero game. WTF? There is even a DC moba and DC Universe online has been a great multiplayer gaming experience.

Marvel doesn't seem to know how to pick game developers.

So many great heroes yet we've had nothing in this industry to show for it.

Sorry..should have searched. Please lock/close this thread. I've subscribed to the other.

Marvel Ultimate Alliance was better than Origins.

Infinite Crisis is a scam and that garbage should not be supported. DC Universe is worse than Elder Scrolls Online

They already had one back in 2004. It just took DC long enough to catch up.

Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 is better than any of the Batman games in my opinion

Disney: notmyproblem.gif

This pretty much, Disney seem to be pulling out of the video game market and just going hand the Marvel license to a publishers, like how EA have the Star Wars license.

Disney is the problem here and for better or worse Marvel is stuck with them.

Too bad it's based on the Movie Spider-Man as that was holding the game back.

I want Bioware to do a Mass Effect/Dragon Age style RPG in the X-men universe where you play a new student at Xavier's school and by the third game you're a full blown X-man (or BrotherHood member)

Always will wonder how Disney's attitude may be different if Epic Mickey hadn't been a turd

1.) Eh, I guess. I liked MUA more, but then MUA was kind of a fly-over of the entire Marvel Universe inside of a single game while Origins just focused on Gotham. Still, AO had superior graphics, a more in-depth battle system, and an explorable open-world. Whatever Ultimate Alliance's budget was (even as a next-gen game), it'd easily be four times as large to manage those things I mentioned.

2.) What's scammy about Infinite Crisis, that isn't scammy about Marvel Heroes.

3.) And no, somehow I doubt DCUO is worse than ESO.

If I recall correctly Epic Mickey actually sold well, despite getting average reviews plus it brought Oswald the Lucky Rabbit back into the world after Disney got the right back, it was the sequel that bombed terribly.

MUA was really good. The sequel was dissapointing, thought.

How is Infinite Crisis a scam?

Me and my friend had bought a character with real life money. A couple of days later they gave everyone in game credit to buy characters to "test" the system and when they were done testing, they took away all characters purchased with those coins. Me or my friend still never got ours back after emailing them. Eventually I gave up, I don't know if my friend ever got his back.

They "tested" the system and used that excuse to take away characters with purchased with real money.

I feel like things have made a 180 since the '90s. Back then, DC had all the good movies, but Marvel had all the good video games.

Disney: "Well, you see Mr. OP, we have this new franchise called Infinity. We're planning a little something called Marvel INFINITY which will cost us much less and sell fuck tons more units that WB's little games. So, we're good."

Seriously, Marvel Infinity will print money, Then Star Wars Infinity will gush forth a fountain of crude oil.

Actually, you could argue that Marvel vs DC's video game situation is similar to their movie situation.

DC has the superb Dark Knight Trilogy and the subpar MoS and Green Lantern movies.

This is comparable to the Arkham games and a couple only average games (DCUO comes to mind).

Marvel's films are all really over the map, ranging from awesome to ok (you could argue that nothing touches TDK)

This is similar to Marvel's various gaming forays like MvC, Ultimate Alliance, and the Spider-Man game tie-ins.

While on the whole Marvel has better quality stuff, DC's highs are greater than Marvels.

Who is Marvel's "Batman"?

Spider-Man, only one close to having the iconic rogues gallery that Batman has. In terms of similarity, Daredevil? Only problem that Marvel has is that they don't seem to want to make games unless they are tied movies. That and they are also stuck with Activision.

I could see the X-Men competing in the rogues gallery area, though that's a group and not a single hero. ...Which makes this post kind of silly now that I think about it. Nevermind.
