PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4) | March 2014

BTW I popped into a GAME UK store today. First time got to play with the x1 and ps4 controllers. They even had a Vita on display, worker was explaining it to some guy and mentioned that the only difference between the new and old model was the weight. I wanted to take out my Vita then and there but resisted.
Yeah I know right? There are heaps of upgrades beyond just the weight ;)

I'll bite on it soon...

Although I don't like that Sony seem totally fine with the PSP triggers.

About the game store - no WiiU on display that I saw but they did have Ouya boxes!

Also, the PS4 controllers are both fucked in that same spot...going to have to be careful with mine when I get one.

And some older man at the till talking to the guy working, about Sony and how they have been hacked 3 times, a friend of his works there.

Two questions:
1) What are some fun Vita games to play while listening to music through music unlimited in the background? Having a lot of fun with UMVC3 this way, but I wouldn't mind some suggestions.
2) Why is Music Unlimited so glitchy/possibly unsupported? The only game I've tried it with that supports playing it in the background is UMVC3. Rayman Origins, Guacamelee, a Megaman PSP game, and PSABR wouldn't work with it. It also tends to cause my Vita to glitch up a lot. Usually, if I have it open then open a game, the game won't open up properly and I'll have to restart my vita entirely to get it to work.

the apes from all of the unlocalized ape escape games broke free and started messing with the servers

scea has no one named spike so they had to fly him out from japan

I'm surprised it even works. Other streaming music options won't work on background at all, like TuneIn and the native music app streaming your music from PC. They'll stop playing the moment you try to switch to another app.

It worked good for me but I used offline mode for the songs. So maybe it is the streaming itself, try setting the songs offline.

People are actually hired and paid to work on the Store and push out these updates, right?

For all the improvements that Sony has made to PSN over the past few years, their inability to update the store at a set time every week is completely mind-boggling, let alone cases like this where the update is over A FULL DAY late.

I'm getting my PS4 Infamous bundle around the 21st (and thus PSN +) will I be able to get dead nation or not?

There's obviously some kind of issue preventing them from doing it, if it were a simple fix they most certainly would have fixed it by now. They want your money just as much as you want your games.

I think people should just relax, go about their days and then when it's up it will be up.

I think one of the things that makes this super-painful is that SCEA is completely tone-deaf about how their silence is perceived. The aloofness comes across as downright callous, which rubs the super-fans the exact wrong way. I bet when the store post does go up, it won't even have a single word about being late. Just "Hey, here's a great store update! You're sooooooooo lucky!"

Not that I'm frustrated or anything. Nope. Not a bit. ;)

Even though I'm not really dying for any of the games to be put on the store, I really hate the way they are going around the problem, being so silent is just plain stupid, also after the upgrades that happened to PSN with the PS4 and Vita I thought those days are behind us but you never really know! I can't even think of a legit reason for the delay!!

Music unlimited is the same way on Android and iOS. Terrible terrible apps. If sony expects to be competitive with apple and google on music streaming try need to start making their service not run like shit.

That's what makes this whole situation even more puzzling. Sony has gotten its act together big time in the last year on the digital front with Vita and PS Plus...yet every now and then they still completely whiff updating the store. It's just so damn odd.

Guaranteed. Mostly cause the post is already written, just waiting to be pushed public.

Basically, not to mention the fact that their silence only causes people to speculate about the reasoning, and the last time Sony was really silent about PSN related stuff it was because of the Data breach.

You would think after that situation Sony would be very forth coming with information when things like that happen because most people just assume the worst and then false claims are made because no one knows. People will always assume the worst.

Right, but it doesn't have to be that way. They choose to do it that way. How should we read that?

Good point. A vacuum loves negativity.

I am really surprised how all these big companies still don't get that a little bit more communication would help them a lot. The silence never works.

Sucks that Miku for Vita still isn't up on the EU store. They've had what, eight hours to get it sorted?

Okay, I was wondering. It's not on the AU store but there's a free DLC thing there for it. Lucky I have Dark Souls to play but maaan I was going to impulse buy this so hard just now.

Yeah the free DLC is up here too. I grabbed it in case there was some glitch that unlocked the full game or something but nothing happened.

The problem is this has been an ongoing problem for them for years now when every other competitor including Nintendo doesnt seem to have problems getting updates out at set times every week. It is truly mind boggling.

Think we'll ever get notifications of when friends go online? And yes I know it would be annoying if we have 2,000 friends. I think options are nice, call me crazy. Would actually like the ability to hide offline too like on 360. Pretty basic requests.

Online notifications work fine for me on PS3 and Vita... do you mean on PS4?

Just impulse ordered God Eater 2 from Nippon Yasan since it doesn't seem to be going to get a localisation any time soon (watch it get announced know that I bought it lol). My first physical game for the Vita, since I've wanted to go all digital :/ haha.
