February 2014 NPD (U.S. Hardware) Predictions - Closes March 10th

PS4 sold 800k in 3 weeks in February (so probably about 1M the whole month) - how low could supply have been? We know Japan numbers, do you really think Europe outsold the US by a huge margin? And even if, then US numbers are pretty irrelevant anyway.

It got trounced by DBZ and Toukiden. It's physical sales probably made Tearaway look like a hit.

No way I could play this game and pay any attention to something snapped that I have to read. Now if I could get a live audio broadcast of each Gaf post...THAT would be entertaining..LOL.

xbox one should do over 100k easily,why wouldn't it. In terms of the market we dont know either way for sure how it will do till we see how this year and next turns out.
When was SDR2's localization announcement made?
It's a niche game in a niche genre so don't expect sales compared to games like Tearaway and other non-niche games. Virtue's Last Reward would be a good comparison, though that had a 3DS SKU as well.

I just can't imagine the supply being too big considering the Japanese launch and that I got the impression EU+others actually got some decent supply in feb especially compared to January but we will see soon enough.

Definitely. Hype is there, stock is there...there really was no reason to think otherwise. But can you imagine if it did? lol holy shit the doom and gloom would be over 9k
And yea it's too early to call it either way too much..we will have a better idea of the health of the market with more time

I understand the skepticism behind it though, you guys are just coming in with sort of vagueish info and we sort of have to trust it.
If anything I just miss when the NPD gave out actual numbers though.
What info did you give except that its over 100K which 99% of people assumed. How much better than 100K and is much better, better than Ps4?

To be fair over 100k doesn't mean it's good.
Right after DR1 launched (like, day after, it was leaked the day of release).
Also Tearaway is sort of niche, just not niche in the same way DanganRonpa is.

Yeah don't use companies as adjectives guys, even if joking. There are a lot of great guys at Microsoft / Microsoft studios.
That would be due to the Vita being a niche device and not necessarily Tearaway being a niche game.

I disagree, I'd put it in the same category as Puppeteer which underperformed on the PS3, a console with a large install base. But this whole thing is just a silly argument of semantics. The point is DanganRonpa is the sort of game you'd expect to sell worse than Tearaway.
