My God Warrior figma arrived. I might open it up later but I'm soo tired I can hardly stay awake. I might just fall asle...Zzzz.

Y'all gonna kill my wallet. I was totally gonna get her a year ago but at the time, underboob was too risque for my shelves. Now she will be just fine so I just ordered telling myself that it was fine because olivia and signum are already paid for and so I don't have another preorder to pay for till swamp witch metallica next month.

Man, I can't believe people are paying that insane price for Signum.

So I read on another forum that AmiAmi will delete your account if you try and cancel an item or choose not to pay when a pre-order arrives. I've only slightly looked around but saw there was no option to cancel an order at first glance. I don't want anymore playarts kai but now I'm afraid I'll lose the points I've accumulated over the last year or worse, lose my pre orders. Anyone have any insight or experience with canceling/choosing not to pay for an order?

If you don't pay for an order, you'll probably get banned. If you try to cancel a pre-owned item, you'll probably get banned. Despite what their email says, you can cancel pre-orders just fine, but don't do it too often. The number of cancellations they accept is generally linked to how much business you do with them. If you buy things from them on a monthly basis and the vast majority of your orders were paid for on time, then they give you a lot more breathing room with cancellations. Just make sure you don't do it too often.

The AmiAmi banhammer is a weird thing, as I've totally blown off three payment requests and had no issues. And this was before I was buying a lot of figures.

But I wouldn't recommend risking it; I guess I was one of the fortunate ones.

One thing I'm curious about - I know that if you cancel a pre-order from AmiAmi, you're not allowed to order that figure from them later. But does anyone know if that includes pre-owned? Because I recall canceling an Akira Yamamoto pre-order (kinda by accident) way back in August or something, and now I kinda want her for my Yamato 2199 shelf...

I'm pretty sure in regards to pre-orders Amiami actually order the items specifically for you. So if they have X amount of orders they get X amount in stock. That's why they don't like it when people back out. If you've ordered stuff and paid for them in the past I'm sure they'll be more understanding. Shit happens. Budgets get changed. But if you've never ordered before they might think you're just messing about. Just be polite and don't make a habit of it.

1/4 Volks Xenosaga Ep III T-elos GET *_*!

My 2nd 1/4 fig, after previously getting the 1/4 Volks Xenosaga Ep III KOS-MOS :3

They'll go shelf by shelf in my modified detolf of course :)

Man, I can't believe people are paying that insane price for Signum.

I agree it is a batshit insane price and will probably end up discounted but I am a Nonoha series whore of the biggest kind and it is pretty much the only series out there I would ever consider owning a figure of every character in it. (The largest portion of my figure collection is stuff from that universe). Girls und Panzer is too plain even if the series is awesome, figures from it just wouldn't work for me. I love the Queens Blade and Samurai Girl stuff but I despise the animated stuff so I don't collect those on the basis I have to enjoy whatever source something comes from otherwise there would be no control on the number of figures I buy (I obviously have made some exceptions to this rule but all the exceptions have been non anime related figures). Anyways Signum will complete my team and then I am done with Nanoha figures unless a new series comes out with even more characters. I am just praying to god for my wallet that Kancolle doesn't turn into being as quality a series as say Girls und Panzer because then I would be obligated to jump on that bandwagon. Fortunately, I can see no possible way of that happening, its more likely to be the next Sonico, than it is being the next Girls und Panzer.

Not sure about pre-owned, but I was able to later buy one of the figures I initially blew off (my Griffon Remillia Scarlett) without any problem. I guess it just depends on who's paying attention at the time.

I have been lurking this thread for at least a couple years now, but don't post much because I don't really have anything to show as I am not even close to remotely as avid as most here are. Some Nendoroids, a few Figma, etc.

But I wanted to say thanks to Samurai_Heart. I wouldn't have known about the release date/preorder of these two if not for his post back in October.

Finally preordered them both and even got EMS just be able to say I did. =)

They will look wonderful next to my Lagi and Barioth Nendoroids. Can't wait.

Oooh those ones =D, enjoy and you should join in the conversation even if you don't buy much figures. The inclusion of those Felynes are awesome =), I'll probably get those when games and figures aren't squeezed into the same month as much XD

oh, Signum is definitely a gorgeous figure, and I'd be tempted even at the price she's sitting at. But the fact is that she won't even fit in a detolf, so I wouldn't know what to do with her.

Catwoman pf announced by sideshow. Seems to be based on the modern design and its mixed media. Not sure if mixed media suits a character like her but we'll see how it turns out.

Also i didnt realize there were so many collectors here who collected 1/4 figures.

Anyone here with Lucifer on their shelf? I think mine broke during transit. The box was open (the adhesive tape was cut) and one of the metal wires that holds the two plastic covers together was unfastened. Really weird, the box is supposed to be new. Bad QA?

IN addition, one of the petals off her dress (not the front piece that slides in her belly) is off. It's not broken though, it's like the glue holding it gave way, it slides perfectly into the dress. Going to apply some superglue to put her back into place.

Not the best start for both my Deadly Sins collection and my Nippon Yasan collaboration.

Other than that she's great however, but I can't help but feeling a bit bummed.

I have lucifer on my desk. My only complaint is the way they did the pegs and front flower skirt piece. Beside that its fine.

Woo, got a payment request for the Rockin Jelly Bean Art book. Weird to get it this early.

TOM: Eighty percent of the works collected in the book are in vivid color and were drawn in various mediums, such as lead, acrylic, and markers. Are there any works in particular that you would like readers to appreciate?
RJB: Hmm, well I’d really like them to appreciate all of them, from cover to cover!
I’ve dreamt of publishing my own art book for a very long time. This has been 23 years in the making. I was REALLY particular about what I put into it, so I hope readers like all of the illustrations, as well as the writing, from the prologue to the epilogue to the credits—every nook and cranny.
The printing itself is quite remarkable as well. We used high-quality paper for the special pages, and a printing process that uses six different colors rather than the typical four. You could almost say that the pictures are better than the originals. I’m not sure such an extravagant art book could be made anywhere else but Japan. From the beginning, I felt that I wanted to publish in America, but when I thought about the quality of printing, I knew that I wanted it to be made in Japan. To get more specific about the quality of the book, there are pages where I took tracing paper and recreated the master copy. I was really particular about it.
I think it’ll certainly satisfy the designers out there. I think that even girls I don’t know at all will look at it and think “That’s cute!” In any case, I think it’s a collection that can be enjoyed by a variety of people.

Damn I'm hyped. Is Japanese printing really that much better? I have no idea. Sounds like it probably won't get a US release, so glad I'm importing. Glad it's hardcover too. Most of the ones I've bought in the past have not been.

I think Japanese printing certainly has a reputation of being substantially better (than American printing anyway). Udon Entertainment, for example, prints overseas in order to get the necessary quality for their localized books.

so is Rockin' Jelly Bean just lewd art?

I can't believe that the image below [Olivia] is a picture of the finished product. Aside from the hair looking slightly lighter [although that might have to do with the lightning, as mentioned by Kotobukiya themselves] she is...absolutely...perfect. They did a great job with her.

that just might be the highest quality figure I've ever seen
Agreed.

Kotobukiya really improved over the last year or so and, while they do have issues here and there, what manufacturer doesn't? Well, aside from Alter and Max Factory, they pretty much always deliver.

I seriously cannot wait to get this one in my hands. Yes, she's expensive, as well as costly to ship, but I honestly feel as though she'll be worth it. Many seem to agree, since anywhere she becomes available usually results in her being sold out within a very short time period.

I just pre-ordered Rance 9, so I probably can't afford her right now...such a shame too as she's so pretty

Damn Microman is making a comeback with Kantai girls?

Can't pass up good 4inch scale figures.

Man if they return to doing Eva and DC characters my wallet will cry.
already own all their Eva, Batman and Street Fighter figures.

Holding out for 1/6 - 1/8 versions...hopefully they'll happen

Anyways being as I'm still a newbie, can you pros tell me if I'm just imagining something or does the pink version look way better in terms of quality than the blue one?

so is Rockin' Jelly Bean just lewd art?

Is Michaelangelo's work just lewd art?

The answer to both questions is "yes."

She looks pretty amazing. But for that price, she really had better be. I can't wait to get her. The wait won't be too bad. EMS is obviously mandatory for this monthly AmiAmi shipment. I really hope Miku2020 gets that delay, because she neeeeeds it.

While their quality isn't quite up to Alter or Max Factory levels, i have a real soft spot for Koto, which makes me put them right at the top with Max Factory. Kotobukiya has a reputation for listening to their fans, which other companies don't seem to do nearly as often.

Dammit they put up a great price for a K-On figure. I want it but my monthly AmiAmi order is almost 16000 right now. Must control myself.

Also just noticed that Ikaros figure I preorderd is 1/6 scale...damn is she gonna be huge? She is sitting down but still.

oh thank God, MegaHouse is doing another version of Mori Yuki, so I won't have to put down 10k for the horribly bland one they already released. I do want a Yamato 2199 shelf on my new billy, though... so I'll have to bite the bullet on an Akira if I can find one that's not too pricey.

XD

Pretty sure I've seen Batman's pose on the Sopranos.

I need this in my life. She will look great with Melda DItz

Preorders have been quiet for me recently. Obviously the calm before the store after what WonderFes revealed......

Esit: is amiami good about combining orders? They are asking for payment, but I still have one figure that was originally for February but got pushed back to this month that is not released. I want to wait for that one to come out to combine them. Will there be a hassle?

Where are all the pre-orders for the new Kill la Kill figures revealed at WonFes?

After the last episode I am ready to throw fist fulls of cash at everything.

Only Phat's Ryuuko is out for preorder. Hell, it's the only one painted as well. Be patient, the series isn't even over yet.

Ahhh lucky sod. Won't be getting mine until the Mystique gets released.
The quote about the print quality is really exciting, and I'm surprised it isn't that much more expensive (I've bought a number of more expensive artbooks that are half the size of what looks to be for this one and that didn't use expensive paper). If it's as great as it sounds, I may end up hunting a second one just to use as prints.

RAH Ryuko is available for pre-order at ¥20,000.

I had to stand up and walk away from the computer before I clicked the order button on AmiAmi.
