Super Smash Bros. for 3DS and Wii U Thread 5: Yarning for Yoshi

Why don't they just go ahead and make a Nintendo SPORTZ. Play football, football, basketball, hockey, baseball and more with your favorite Nintendo characters!

I wonder how Lumiose is set up, is it a flying around the city stage or a set one

As a huge NFL fan I'd love a Mario Football game. Bowser would be a great DT or MLB.

You all know what would be really funny.

If wolf got revealed this week , not Yoshi not wario . Wolf just wolf ass wolf with some weird new outfit.

that'd be fine

especially if it's shirtless Wolf, to show off their fur technology (tm)

Zero-Suit Samus has been replaced with Shiek to make extra room in Zelda's moveset.

Mr. Game and Watch is always wearing zero suits.

Hey guys, not to rustle forgotten jimmies but Google Now just reminded me of this whole Kojima AMA debacle regarding Snake (who else!) & it just occurred to me that since both Kojima & Sakurai are some of the industries biggest rusers, maybe he is perfectly serious when he says he doubt's that "Snake" is in, because in fact Big Boss is in this time, to rep mgs4 or whatever iunno I haven't played those fuckin games (much anyway) but Snack is alright in my books

If I am interpreting this right, you are referring to the exact sequence I went through with my brother; focusing on more complex elements of the character and mechanics themselves rather than just playing to be victorious in the end. A remedy could be to play more simplistic but optimized?

What do you mean by the last part, exactly? I sometimes have the same problem, focusing more on technical aspects and refining spacing and approaching as a !Marth main.

mmm snack. Inb4 smash 4 is delayed to add in snake and prevents mewtwo from returning again.

Snack, what happened? Snack?! SNNAAAAAACCKK?!!

Edit: Beaten by a color-changing Buizel

Because Donkey Kong in this game befitted so well for his fur compared to DKCTF. I never actually like how other games show Donkey Kong except how Retro shows him. Weird.

Lucky for Star Fox there's no modern game to compare for fur technology!

He's wearing a tie.

Curses.

Hahahah that'd be hilarious.

I can see that happening.

I'm not the poster you quoted so I can't say exactly was meant by that, but I would think of it as just slowing down and choosing more basic options. Like, maybe don't worry too much about approaching or comboing, just focus on certain aspects at a time. Maybe just try to respond to their approaches instead of approaching them, and then just focusing on getting the edge guard every time instead of going for fancy gimps.

To take that even further, I kinda liked the idea Wobbles wrote about here. Basically just try one move or strategy for matches at a time, just to get a thorough understanding of everything about it. Starting with something like that that's almost sub fundamental, and just building a strong understanding from there.

Anyway, I get that sort of experience in other fighters all the time, where I'm more focused on trying to learn my combos or do certain moves, and the other uneducated heathen just punches me when I'm busy trying to play. The way to get around that issue is just to practice a lot. Control of your character and tech stuff should be unconscious. Even if you mess up the techniques every time, keep going for them in real matches. It'll click after a while.

As my first day posting on GAF, I'm hoping for a new character tonight to mark the occasion :P

hi smashGAF <3

Welcome to disappointment: the thread, here you will find only the craziest of people who stay up into the wee hours of the morning in an attempt to view and analyze a picture as soon as possible.

Welcome aboard

So how do you guys feel about the fact that we're going to all have to use the Wii U Pro controller for Smash 4? Can it withstand the APM and vigorous actions that the faithful GameCube pad undertakes mercilessly at the hands of the Smash elite?

hi smashGAF <3

Welcome aboard! Weekends are the best and there's nothing but full on disappointment 4 outta 5 nights of the week.

I just realized we'll have to possibly wait till summer for Yoshi. Why did Japan have to get New Island so late?

This is actually scary for me. I've had moments in Tropical Freeze where it seemed the controller simply didn't register one of my inputs. Typically with the D-pad. I sure hope it was just the game though, because one simple command ignored can cost someone a round in Smash.

I feel that we can't keep using the GC controller because, no matter how great it is, it has an outdated button layout. We need to move forward at some point. Might as well do it now.
