PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4) | March 2014

Is Ys Seven worth $15? I was thinking of picking up Oath in Felghana on Vita but I'm looking for something a bit longer so I was thinking Seven might satisfy me for that price and I can pick up Oath in Felghana in a Steam/PSN sale later on. Never played any of these games but they look incredibly fun.
Yes! It's a fun, fun game and I liked the characters here than those in Celceta.
Hmm any suggestions for ~$20 for my Vita to get to the $60 promo right now? How's Dustforce? Flower? And why is Tomba 2 rated so low on PSN? [/B

Muramasa + a dlc? Super Stardust bundle?
Dustforce suffers from some slowdowns according to some users here, and Flower is best played through Remote Play. Flower vita does not look as good as the streamed PS4 flower. Tomba is rated low is its in Japanese language only. Seems like most buyers missed the initial announcement saying it is in Japanese Language only. I don't remember it though.

What the hell were they thinking with Unit13's aim assist? I literally deleted the game after completing the tutorial because of how bad it was. This is literally the first I found such a horrible case of aim assist. Was an option to disable it so fucking difficult?

Finally someone agreeing with me on this, couldn't stand it.

It isn't aim assist. It's full lock on GTA style. Meh, I still found the game very fun regardless.

has anyone made a list of all of the games that have been announced for PS3/PS4/Vita in the last few weeks?

I made one about february announcements in another forum, but it's only Vita related
The Sly Trilogy
Teslagrad
Steamworld Dig
The Swapper
Futuridium EP Deluxe
forma.8
No Heroes Allowed - No Puzzles Either!
CEL Damage HD
Danganronpa 2 Goodbye Despair
Mousecraft
Titan Invasion
Makai Ichiban Kan
Stranger of Sword City Black Palace
Ethan Meteor Hunter
Risk of Rain
Pavilion

This month we got: Race The Sun, Final Horizon, Home (not the PS3 app), Galak Z, Upside Down Dimensions (that's not official, but developer already said it's coming) and some jrpg thingy. Maybe more, I have to check better

EDIT: Also Rocketbirds 2, PJ Shooter Ultimate, Foul Play and Tiny Troopers 1&2

Tombs 2 was (is?) an untranslated Japanese import, which wasn't mentioned on the store page initially. I'm sure many people felt deceived.
Wow, I would have completely fallen for it. It's not even mentioned at the top, it's somewhere in the middle. The icon is still English too.

64gb card just came in the mail. Oh my god I can't wait until my backup is done restoring. I'm going to fill this thing with SO much shit.

is there anyone here who uses Vita without a screen protector?

how scratch resistant is the screen?

Seioulsy don't try to do this espcially if you don't have faceplate/face protector for your screen. Unless you using screen protector that actually made for smartphones (like my white Vita) your Vita screen still very susceptible to fucking scratches.

You don't want to ended up like this

The options are:
Use thick smartphones screen protector for the cost of reduced graphic quality
Use faceplate with no screen protector/use vita screen protector with the risk of being scratched

I've had my Vita since launch, I've never used a screen protector and it's even slipped and landed face first on the ground, not a scratch on it. Just put it in a proper carrying case rather than throwing it into your bag and you'll be fine.

What do you people do to your Vitas to scratch them all to hell and back.

I don't have any protection for it, not even a case lol, since the d1 it fell 2 times and the only damage is a scratch on the rear panel. I think that the screen is fall-proof(lol) because the analogs prevent the screen to even touch the terrain.

Can't people just look after their stuff rather than coat everything in screen protectors and ruining how the device was meant to be to begin with?

Never understood people plastering mobile phones with protectors but a Vita? Just buy a case and use common sense like not putting it in a pocket with keys etc.

About 20 minutes of Dark Souls 2 on PS3 is all I've managed so far. Game looks like soggy butt. Gonna wait and get it on PC... unless the PC version has shitty lighting too. In which case... I'm a big boy, I'll deal with it.

The cats seem to like sleeping on our Vita. Seems to keep the screen streak free. Cat belly > microfiber cloth

Got my Vita last Thursday and I have a bunch questions. How often do PS1 classics go on sale? Why isn't Crash Team Racing available for the Vita? Do we know when Freedom Unite is going to be added to the PS+? Does the Vita load psp games faster than the psp does and if so, is there a point in transferring over my data install? Thanks.

If you're happy with taking that risk then fine.

If the Vita had Gorilla glass I wouldn't bother with a protector but I'm not prepared to risk having to shell out another $250 because I was careless enough to not use a screen protector that I completely forget is there.

So can we download FFX and FFX2 seerately or do we really need 7GB of free space available at once?

The Vita screen is very easy to scratch. I hate screen protectors and my launch unit has some nasty scratches.
A big scratch was my Iphone landing on it from a ~20cm fall (kind of ironic considering smartphones are killing the handheld game market). Another scratch came from my Vita falling out of the bed, which happened without scratches many times before though. Even the power supply connector can easily nick the screen without any force applied.
Wished Sony would have gotten a harder screen material or even gorilla glass.

Never.
SCEA gonna SCEA.
That's not free already? What the hell, it's March!
SCEA gonna SCEA; NA PS+ Vita games are the last 2 weeks of the month.
No point in using data install for most games. MHFU there's some benefit about being able to see item previews in the store or something... but you have to decide if losing the space off your Vita memory card for that is worth it, since it basically doubles the size of the game's footprint.

^Pretty sure they are separate downloads since FF X-2 isn't on the same cart and is a dl link that comes with the retail ver. of the game.

So as you all know The Swapper is coming to Sony systems later this year, here's a quick impression I've made of the game having beaten it now.
If you can get it for $10 or less, it'd be worth it if you like puzzle platformer games

The Swapper is a fanastic puzzle game with a really weird story. I really didn't like the visuals or the animation, but the puzzles are extremely well done and very different due to the swapping mechanic. It'll be a good fit for Vita and a great chance for people who don't have it on PC to check it out.

Hay Gaf, I'm just wondering what is the best games games in the GTA Sale tomorrow? I know San Andreas and Chinatown Wars are great games but what about GTA III, Vice City, Vice City Stories and GTA IV?

I hear GTA IV got a lot of mixed reception (and that it runs poorly on PS3) and outside of Bully and GTA Liberty City Stories PSP, I've never really played any Rockstar game, so any advice would be great :).

3 was revolutionary at the time but if you want you can jump straight into Vice City and San Andreas. IV didn't get a mixed reception, it just had a very loud minority of people that didn't like some of its changes. It's deservedly one of the best rated games on PS3.

If you want something to play on the Vita then Chinatown Wars is great. Skip the * Stories games, they're the weakest in the series.

Sony seems to be ignoring their PS1 catalog lately when it comes to sales. I think they are moving towards just renting back catalog items via the cloud.

I thought Vice City Stories was quite fun on Vita (got if with Plus last September), thanks for the suggestions with Vice City, Chinatown Wars and San Andreas :). I will see some gameplay on GTA IV + Episodes of Liberty City for stronger impressions on that; sometimes the loudest voices may be right and I really don't trust game critic reviews (I am a Sonic fan, as you can tell from my avatar, so my trust with reviewers is quite weak :)).

Thank you for the suggestions Massa :).

YES! Get both Oath and Seven. I beat Oath days ago and it was the most fun game I have played in a long time.
Seven plays VERY different from Oath but is still a fun Action RPG.

Both also have some of the BEST soundtracks ever in a video game, let alone an RPG.
Go get them now!

Heck let me get you HYPED to rush to the Webstore and buy them; I'ma spoil you with the game's boss themes-

THAT is what you rock to when you take on bosses, and all (well most of) the bosses in Oath and Seven are among the best parts of the game.

Start with Oath, it'll make you feel like a badass.

Oath is far better on PC, as is everything these days :p, and will run on a toaster, so unless you only have a Vita and are using it to post on GAF, just buy Seven in the assurance that there's not a better version available elsewhere
in English
yet

That said, isn't Oath free on JP PS+ this month? Might want to wait if so.
