it definitely seems to be "in" right now

I think alot of them are new guys coming in, because their builds from what it looks like is basic besides the great sword and shield with basic armor...unless that is a build and I don't know it lol

Almost everyone who summons me and most of the phantoms I see near bonfires all rock the Drangleic set. Sometimes I see a few cleric armor sets. I wear Black Leather, but haven't seen anyone else with it.

Those huge guys at the bottom of
Sinner's Rise
in the water seem insanely tough. Any tips?

I pull them with a bow, them bait their attack and attack after they lunge. What is your damage rating? Mine's at 272 and I have no problems.

I've been sort of chillaxing doing co-op on a mid-game boss that I didn't think was very good the first time I fought it but which is starting to grow on me. I'm talking about
the Covetous Demon. I love it whenever someone gets caught in his eating attack which totally unequips you. Every time it happens I make sure to watch the victim to see how they react. You quickly learn which players use the item box to keep their inventory un-cluttered and can keep a cool head upon finding themselves suddenly naked during a boss fight.

Most don't.

Belfry Luna:
Killed the motherfucking gargoyles my first try! I was really surprised when I killed two and they kept coming. Intense fight, were there 6 total? Cool update to the tradition.

And the Gywm Greatshield helps a lot too. Just finished this boss, god this is one annoying bastard to kill.

I don't use shield unfortunately... and the damn roll didn't wanna be consistant :(.

Also hate the lag between hitting the button and running/rolling.

Go for it.
One is a drop from ancient dragon who is an absolute motherfucker to fight so be warned. The other...you should check out duke's dearest frejas's boss room in brightsone. The benefit of collecting them all is that each one cuts vendrick's health by a factor of 2 if you want to fight him. So with only 3 he still has 4x hp

Nice. Took me over an hour to kill them. I tkink it's 5 of them, maybe next Souls game will be 8.

This past fall I finally rolled a heavy character after years of DEX and INT builds in Demon's and Dark Souls. I loved it. I didn't miss dodging much when I could smash enemies into the ground. And the first time I put on a great shield and tanked a boss's best shot before staggering him with a club, I started giggling like an idiot. It was so much fun that I decided to make my first DkS2 character a STR build, which is going well so far.

Yeah, I definitely want to give it a try. I always get a little sad when I pick up some massive and cool weapon knowing I'll never able to use it with my current build, lol.

Just got to the
black gulch
and now I get all the hate for that area

Yeah, seriously. I was so happy to be done with that place. Thankfully, it's fairly short. There are a few secret areas you can get to there btw. Pay attention to the edges (or bring a torch) to see some drop off points.

Just finished it also. Just run. I've also figured out that when it comes to poison,
lifegems are better than moss. They're cheaper and pretty much cancel the effect.

I can't believe I played so conservatively with my lifegems before. I now have 70 and enough estus to drink my way out of a hole.

I had the worst time today in Belfry Luna trying to summon people for help....
I hate every one of you that invaded the area and killed me, i couldn't make any progress for an hour or two, as soon as i enter the door invaders are summoned, everytime, even when i'm hollow and try to put my summon stone chalk down i get invaded and can't do it. Eventually i just got pissed and went in alone and beat it in hollow form since i'm an overleveled sorcerer, should have done that an hour earlier Xo

I got annoyed a lot quicker than you did. Just skip it, the area isn't mandatory to progress.

I've not been there yet.. is there a specific route to get there outside of the direction I'm going now (thru Iron Keep)?

No you have to return to Majula, and unpretify a girl that's holding a switch. Then you have to go through the
Mist section, Shaded Ruins and Door of Pharos.

I said the wrong place to go. The Gwyn Warriors is in the Door of Pharos not the Brightstone Cove.

Well I'm thrilled I just upgraded the smelter sword all the way to find it damages itself every time you use the special attack, and breaks after 10.

Amazing

Yeah, that's how most weapon special attacks work. They're kind of like unique spells that you pay for with weapon durability. If you can use that one 10 times before it breaks that's actually pretty good. You can only use the MLGS's special 6 or so times before it breaks.

Was farming for the Blacksteel Katana and ended up getting the Alonne set with the katana at last. Leveled the katana up to +6 without thinking about it. Did I mess up by doing this? Gonna rock the full Alonne set for now since I've been wearing the bandit armor since I started the game unless there's something better coming up soon

Man, I'm fighting
Royal Rat Authority
at Doors of Pharros and on one hand this is a really annoying boss because
of little spawns that can inflict toxic really easily and will have the big rag dog thing join in usually before they're dead, who will hit hard, and I'm not sure the little rat dogs will go extinct.
On the other hand this might be the best Pharros Stone farming spot in the whole game.

I don't like being able to warp and having so many bonfires in this game. I feel myself getting over burdened with too many places to remember and too many paths unlocked. I keep forgetting where I've been or what I've seen

Hello guys! After years of lurking this is my first post here on GAF and it feels ohhh so good, and which better place than in the DS2 thread with you bros? Dark Souls is my GOAT so it's only fitting.

Now question for anyone in here...
I think I'm pretty far in the game now, I'm at Drangleic Castle and everything has been smooth sailing up until now where I'm officially stuck for the first time. I've just beaten the twin Dragonriders and have fully explored (I think) the two branching pathways following the next bonfire by the moon sword bro. I've backtracked, checked for illusionary walls and even shot at the queen to see if she was an illusion or something? Any help would be appreciated, looking to make some more progress tonight.

Is there any point to
Pharros' contraption in No Man's Wharf?

How many points do you need in Attunement to get 1 slot?

Still haven't been invaded yet in about 15 hours of play, barely been human either

-The Pharros stone
lights up the entire wharf making it easier to see and light torches along the way.

I haven't been invaded at 33 hours of play.
