Super Smash Bros. for 3DS and Wii U Thread 5: Yarning for Yoshi

I thought we were past these boring pics :(
This one isn't boring.

Oo, I was getting the new Smashville mixed up with Tortimer Island for the 3DS. Weird that they're having 2 very different AC level's no?

Most stages would be exclusive to Wii U and 3DS, so there are rare moment where they would share the same stages like Punch Out Boxing Arena.

And not forgetting this babe:

What about Sonic? Serebii Joe posted a picture of Sonic fall asleep under Peach's Umbrella.

It's noticeably only stages with a Smash Bros. branding (so far). The Boxing Ring alternates between Smash and WVBA so it gets included!

You could be right but I think it's more of topic of "What other location can we use for 3DS?" Since Boxing Arena is only important environment for Punch Out franchise, so they have no other important environment to go with for 3DS.

That'll hinge on whether we get a Pikmin stage revealed for 3DS.

Maybe the cityscape scene that Mac and Doc run through in between matches? That's all I can think of.

I'm pretty sure that they will pick something simple for 3DS stage since they have many locations to pick from three games.

I'm not saying there isn't anything that would work (and judging by the 3D Land stage, simplicity is far from necessary) just that when this is the only stage shared between the two versions and it has a generic Smash version and we have the quote about focusing on handheld games for the 3DS version, I don't see a Pikmin stage in our future.

I'm not sure about that since we have only one 3DS screenshot of Boxing Arena, and the arena actually have Punch Out layout rather than Smash layout. The LED Message Sign had Punch Out on it.

I have a gut feeling that every franchise will have their own stages on Wii U and 3DS, including Pikmin.

But we didn't even know the Wii U version of that stage had a Punch-Out variation until months later, it probably works in reverse for the 3DS version too.

Not that it can't happen, just that it doesn't have much going for it.

No, because it's also a Smash Bros. stage, which there's precedent for sharing between the versions because of Battlefield.

Battlefield isn't really shared though. The Wii U and 3DS versions have completely different designs. The boxing arena is the first one that's just downscaled for the 3ds.

I'm pretty sure that Smash Layout will be in there but I'm trying to make a point that Sakurai probably want every playable franchise to have their own stages in 3DS and Wii U despite the fact that they don't have any games on handheld or consoles.
