This is important.
Once you step into the realm of this type of figure, it can become so much more expensive. And lewd. Mostly lewd.
don't really have anything else planned besides kirigiri and that cordelia anyways.

oh, I know. And if I buy her, she'll probably be an exception to the rule. I mean, I bought this one a while back. And she's a cast-off (with rather nice boobies), but she's got a cute, innocent look to her, so I don't feel her to be lewd at all. I also don't display her topless, obviously.

Yeah, that sounds like me. Cast-off options are nice, but I always display them clothed.

When they update the pre-owned section (usually around 12am EST), you need to be Johnny-on-the-spot to have a crack at the good stuff.

Jungle Entertainment replyed today to let me know they were shipping me a new figure, to replace the one that was delivered to Spain for some reason.
Really thought it was going to be some fine print BS or me having to pay an additional shipping charge.

Since I'm going to Japan in a few days I've basically held off buying things since I thought I may as well save the money to buy them in person. Though I have to consider how easy it is to pack said items. I suppose I could fold boxes flat, but the plastic trays can't really be made flatter and don't really fold into easy other. Though I suppose I could stuff small things into them like squashed socks to maximum space.

Pack small items in luggage, post large items back home.
Did this with a Steel Battalion controller, among other things, because there was no way I was lugging that all over Japan then onto a plane.

You're going to Japan =), have fun BGBW, you're gonna fill your 3DS streetpass easily =P and yeah just follow the advice of Man Puncher, or you could carry another smaller luggage case so you got extra storage places...maybe don't bring too much clothings? XD

Yeah it's had a reissue or two. Every week or two it comes back in stock and I keep missing it. It's one of the main figures I want. I don't like how short her dress is but I think it looks alright overall for 7k. That's the problem with all the Asuka figures too. I just want a cool faithful figure for a show I like, stop sculpting her ass the size of the moon and her bust the size of watermelons. Geez

Asuka from Evangelion? I don't think I've really seen many Asuka figures like you're describing. Most are pretty faithful to her in-show appearance.
I guess I hate plugsuits then. The alter and kotobukiya figures looks good but I hate how they emphasise her backside. I guess that's inherent to the characters. Still I'd rather have her with the yellow sundress or her uniform. Not enough figures with her wearing such outfits. Soo much more appealing and more charismatic. End of my spontaneous rant for today I guess.
I'd say her plugsuit is pretty iconic. That's probably why she's depicted that way the most. Rei, too. It would be nice to get some variety, though.
She's pretty modest in most of her figures, considering that the suit is supposed to be skin-tight. You can always just turn the figure to the angle that shows off less of her backside. I understand being a conservative collector, but I feel like Asuka is pretty safe by most counts, especially some of the older ones.

Actually Momohime is sculpted rather tastefully.
Its just a gorgeous figurine to display. I wish I had better lighting.

The plug suit is more fitting for her character though, considering she's validated by her ability to pilot the EVA, which is foundational to her character arc. GuardianE is right about it being iconic as well. Figures are purely visual though, so I can appreciate you preferring a different design even if I typically prefer something other than school uniforms.
I think Senjougahara and Taiga are the only uniform figures I've got.

Yeah it is her trademark look. She is a fiery redhead after all. It's just done to death already. Then they use the prototype design too much with that ghastly orange colour on her torso. Not iconic at all in that regard.
The RAH figures actually make her more iconic and distinctive. This looks cool to me.
And even though she has her plugsuit here they switched it up with this jacket. Really love this.
I guess I'm just not into sexy figures.
Every time I see it I think her dress is a tad too short. It's pretty short in the game so it's faithful but I don't really like it. It's okay tho. Fairly inoffensive. Nice figure. Really want it.
I'm not a big fan of the orange either.
The Alter Asuka has her in her jacket as well. Sure, they molded her butt because Asuka's supposed to have a nice butt, but you can always shift her look to the side. I'd rather than than they give her a flat butt. But hey, everyone's taste is different.
Momohime's kimono is short, but you don't even notice it once you have her. The composition of the figure works together perfectly. The dynamism, the colors, the overall softness. You're not going to be seeing any upskirts unless you're actually trying.
I guess you're right. Now that I look at it I think I have more against the poses they chose rather than the butt and such. I guess I couldn't articulate my feelings. She never really looks like Asuka. Her face and pose. In that top image for example it's just her with a generic Hey look at me I'm on my knees and sexy pose. When you (or at least I) look for a figure I want to re-enact the iconic moments. My Gunbuster is doing its inazuma kick. My Nono figure is doing the famous Gainax pose with her arms folded like a boss. Just makes me giggle with happiness looking at it. When I get my Samus figma it's going to be in an action pose. My Canti figure will be wearing his poncho with his bandana and gun like a boss or sulking with a box over his head.
I want Asuka with her legs wide apart pointing at and calling me a baka or at least chilling out. Asuka has happy moments but she's never really sultry.
I'll probably buy an Asuka but it's not going to be a true representation of Asuka Langley Soryu.

Whelp, it seems AmiAmi decided my financial ruin for me; will be paying for Velvet today and maybe 2020Miku next month, but I'm pretty sure she'll be delayed again.
Am definitely (not) looking forward to the monetary beatdown that will be Olivia.
And as for Momohime; without giving away any spoilers, but there's a very good reason why she's dressed the way she is.

Hmm I am curious as to what you mean about her clothes. I beat the game and I am not remembering a reason for it. Although I only beat it with Momohime....I need to go back and play the rest (and the DLCs I bought for the Vita version)

Most of this I agree with. The only Asuka I have is the Shunya Yamashita interpretation by Yamato, which I don't even really associate with her anime counterpart because it's so different. The Alter one coming out this year might be the one I end up getting to represent that side of things, because although it's sourced from a bad film in 3.33, her expression is more representative of her actual attitude than any other figure I've seen. Plus I like the jacket-over-plugsuit design and she's 1/7, which is unusual for Alter.
It's just a Asuka Real Action Heroes figure (#629) with the jacket. It was a wonder festival 2013 Summer event exclusive which was limited to 400 pieces (100 on-site, 300 online). Good luck picking it up

Yeah it's funny because I find a lot of the prize figures represent her more accurately so I get attracted to them but it's hard to gauge the level of quality or lack of. I liked 3.33 by the way! Loved it in fact. My favourite of the 3 movies. Hate me!

Not really, but kind of a spoiler (it happens at the beginning of the game, but the details don't become clearer until you get through the story some:
She was possessed by the spirt of Jinkuro, who was a pretty dodgy ronin in the game. The short kimono was for ease of movement when (s)he fought, and to draw attention to the masculine spirit that was possessing her.

Oh, and definitely play Kisuke's story; personally I find it to be the stronger of the two.

I picked up a Ques Q Elizabeth (Christmas Edition) from Big in Japan, but realized that I preferred the original blue and didn't want the second Elizabeth. Great looking figure, brand new and sealed for $80 (cheaper than Amazon!).
