PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4) | March 2014

Is nobody besides me interested in Stealth (Bastard) Inc.? I was hoping for some impressions.

I own the vanilla version on Steam but was hoping it would take off on PS4 for leaderboards and general ease of use compared to using my laptop and external monitor.

I got the Vita version during the 14 for 14 sale and its a great game :). The Vita version runs great, its native res, and the controls are rock solid with the Vita's killer D-Pad. The gameplay is great (and the bonus powers you can get like the invisible suit are really fun to use) and the Vita version has DLC to get (I think there are 2-3 level packs) plus the ability to make your own stages (but I'm not sure about downloading other peoples creations ala LBP).

Either way the Vita version of the game is great and with the PS4 version apparently having all the DLC, for its 15 dollar price point, its a great buy :).

It is a pay 2 win game from Sony. And you need to be online to play it. I enjoy for the beautiful artworks wasted on a F2P game. Conserve Destiny points as much as you can, they are pretty much your life line there.

EDIT: There is a free 35 destiny points for PS Plus users for in HK asia. I didn't renew mine so I'm already a bit handicapped.

The way you phrased it is ominous. Might not try this game after all. I don't like and don't want to encourage P2W style games. If there is at least a way to grind things but not at 5x the normal length, I will give it a second chance.

I only heard good things about it from the vitagaf who played the beta.

this can't be bad.

I don't know why he said it was P2W. Like, at all. I don't recall anything that slowed the gameplay down to a halt. It's free to download and try, play it and make your own opinion.

That's good but I'll hold my judgment till the 26th. Hoping it isn't really structured as a bad P2W game. :(

That's what I'll do. Thanks for the response guys.

My earlier word might be a little harsh for the game so let's rephrase that. You can play the game without spending a single cent in the game. Certain things in the game needs time to accomplish, but if you're the impatient type you can use Destiny points to do it faster. The thing is since this has an online leaderboard, if you want to chart higher you might need to use Destiny points. But if you are playing this at your pace, and not competitively playing against your friends so will enjoy this game. It needs an online connection since it is quite similar to a Facebook / Web game where your progress in the game is saved online.
I participated in the beta before, and this along with Samurai's and Dragons (another F2P game in Asia PSN) with my Persona 4 golden survived me with my long drought of no games.

Not sure about Nun Attack, Quell Memento and Angry Birds Trilogy from the sale.
Have some Angry Birds games including both Star Wrs titles on my Iphone already but actually playing them on Vita with trophies would be nice.
Didn't like the Quell Memento demo that much but people here seem to like it and it is very cheap.
Any impressions on the games?

We did the monster run. You missed it out.

So it didn't run any better? Thought it was my fault because I am from Europe.
Have good memories of playing LBP online, unlike the laggy mess we had.

Hmmm alien breed is on sale for 3.50. Does anyone have any impressions of it?

Played the PS Mobile version and didn't like it. It is one of the cases where nostalgia about the Amiga has mislead me.

Got Nun Attack from it being super cheap a few months back (I think it was just 1.60 or something...) and its just not that great. All you do is make path of your character and they just kill the things that cross there path. Nothing worth buying, but decent enough if its under 1.50 or something.

As for Angry Birds, I think they are just the same games as the iPhone versions but with some extra stages (at least the Trilogy game has that), but considering the game isn't F2P like the iPhone versions, I assume the power up abilities are unlimited/easier to get, so there might be that plus I suppose. There good games if they are cheap enough (at least 5 bucks) but anything over than that is just stealing from you; they are F2P on other platforms but not on Vita (where there are other F2P games like Jetpack Joyride)...

.

It wasn't any better. We had it worse than that with just two of us couple days ago. It was literally running give or take 5 seconds input delay lag. More object made it even worse.

Nun Attack is like 80 cents in the sale so it's not that bad. The Angry Birds Trilogy is €4 for me with PS+ discount. Considering the iOS versions also cost 79 cents, it is ok.
Right now, only the trophies and little bit bigger and nicer screen speak for the purchase. On the other hand, I already own AB games on a portable platform and the Star Wars games are even better from a gameplay perspective. Really don't know why I want to buy it, I just buy too much stuff on Vita.

Ok, sucks to hear that the online is so bad.
Was fun seeing us failing though, LBP really has charme, I rarely rage playing it, unlike with other games.

whats seriously up with all the jaggies

Hahahahaha.

I guess with the 30 fps with that kind of graphic and non-native resolution, it's like a triple slap against you, huh.

For the promo I bought: FFX/FFX-2, Danganronpa, Bit.Trip Runner 2, and FFIX.

Now what to do with the bonus 10 bucks. Maybe Luftrauser... seems like a cool game.

I missed the promo... and it's... annoying me to no end T_T
get SteamWorld Dig.. PLEASE

so I missed the spend $60 get $10 back promo
should I still jump on FFX/X-2 HD now? PS3 version incoming (mainly for the Limited Edition art book.. lol)

Dang, was thinking it could make a fun co-op game.

Any thoughts on it?

I played it for like half an hour. Got stuck because I assume I used some keys in the wrong place. Didn't play it much. If you have any nostalgia for it though go ahead and get it. The graphics upgrade is decent and you don't like it you can play it with the original art.

Btw I got a refund on it, got to keep it, and a $5 voucher for the inconvenience :D

How come you missed it mang. Fell asleep?

I actually stayed awake up until like past midnight just to make sure I didn't miss FFX/FFX-2 the moment it's available in the PSN, hahaha.

As for your suggestion, hmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

I played the XBL version and it's a pretty fun shooter. Quite relentless. The story is surprisingly... well, I wouldn't say good, but for a game like this, quite decent.

I would hesitate buying it in the Vita though since 2 and 3 are nowhere to be seen.

Thanks - ridiculous value getting the Vita and PS4 copy at this price. Its cheaper than on Steam if you are a Plus member as well. Buy this game guys.

Ys: Memories of Celceta.

It's ugliness has stopped me from getting it to be honest.

Probably one of the best ARPG I have played in these few years.
Great music, and very responsive battle system.
The only downside to this game is that it is TOO easy than the other Ys.

Destiny of Spirits so far:
-TROPHIES!
-You start with 5.0 points to fill with, (4.5 in the beta)
-Smokey's Favorite Knack can be summoned in exchange fo 30 destiny points.
- The skill gauge (?) starts from zero and is refilling itself. (Fixed costs in the beta)
-Destiny orbs prices HKD(USD):
100 for 60 (7.73)
50 for 35 (4.51)
35 for 25 (3.22)

The animations are even worse. The first ingame cutscene was horrible as it started with the main char "gliding" over the ground.
The gameplay is just great though.

I am now the proud owner of a Vita and im wondering what I should get first. I'm downloading the plus freebies now but I'll be looking to pick up some more soon.

Also when downloading will the system continue to DL in standby? It seemed to pause...

I've seen P4G recommended but...what type of game is it? Why is GAF so hot for Persona?

I paid less than the 7.99 for it on steam, FYI, so you can definitely get it cheaper on PC. ^_^
That said, if you have an interest in playing it on your Vita, or nothing to play on your PS4, the cross-buy for $8 is a pretty fair price.

That cut scene was hilariously bad - but then suddenly the quality seems to pick up and it's all go from there. Loving it so far. Great music, too.

Think JRPG + sim. Turn-based RPG with an actual emphasis on role-playing and good difficulty. You play as a high school kid trying to solve a mystery case. There's a lot of events to do outside the dungeons like studying for school, doing jobs, socializing with people, and so on as a highschool student. You have to budget your time to do all of them. The writing and voice acting are pretty good. There's a bit of a Pokemon aspect in combat.

Game starts slow though. You don't even get to your first fight until around 2 hours in.

Yes. Thank you. 6 years is still a really long time. And neither of them exist on a 7th generation console.

Since when are Lost Odyssey and Blue Dragon better than Final Fantasy 10 in the way you know I'm asking the question? I haven't heard anyone mention either of those games in months. Maybe a year. Persona 4 is the closest so far.

This isn't me asking for myself. I can go find some JRPG if I want to play them. But nothing has reached Final Fantasy or Persona levels in terms of public perception in years.

Not turn-based. But Tales of Vesperia was awesome. Reeeeaaaaally awesome. And it released later than FFX.

For some reason Bamco didn't released the best version in the West. They brought Eternal Sonata two times instead lol.

There is only one compulsory blitzball game though, which you can simply lose. Just skip all the rest.

What?! VitaGAF is disapointing me. Blitzball is awesome.

How hard is to get Destiny points? The Beta gave them at a nice pace. Have they reduced the amount of points given through daily rewards?

Come on, it's Falcom first 3D game. Give them a rest suppa.

Looks terrible though

This will never happen again: 2 friends cleared dungeon level 999 in Toro's Friend Network in a 24 hour span:

...and I still don't know what happens in the end. >:( Neither of them revealed it.

had a long day... + had to rush for a conference in the morning... so well that's that :/
and I bought Miku, Danganronpa before Mar 11 too... so oh well lol

This may seem like a joke answer, but I *do* believe that all that dating-sim elements, the "waifu" as many would refer to, are actually a big reason why P4G is as big as it is, including in GAF, hahaha.

How many spirit slots you have in start? They said that they increased that amount from beta (it was 5 in beta, before buying extra slots?)

Prolly going to use my DOrbs to spirit slots.

Did you get any bonus having played the beta version?

Harder. My daily reward is 1000 stones.

There are 20 slots at the start.

I haven't seen my reward for playing the beta. They said it's the spirit joker,

which is used to level up further in the game.
