Super Smash Bros. for 3DS and Wii U Thread 5: Yarning for Yoshi

Junior bans are forever in the vast majority of cases, but they do have exceptions. Hard to say with that one since...uh, that was his first post on the forum, haha.

This has bothering me for a long time: why does Diddy's fur look way better than DK's? I mean, they're both the same species, right?!?

Yoshi is the worst, most boring character ever made.

Holy shit....I just realized Yoshi's not in the game. :O

come on man
He edited that in after I quoted it. Note that both people you quoted only had the first part in their post.

Also it is still a valid answer. The reason many assume it is a parm ban is because he was a junior and for the most part junior bans = permanent ban.

God damn it I just remembered how horribly butchered the DKC GBA games were. Oh and they're Uncle and Nephew, well until Miyamoto decides to retcon that like he did with the Koopalings.

And that junior picked the worst possible day ever to post a Fake Ridley pic. Can't play with fakes on anniversaries man.

I beat DKC on GBA in full since it was the only one missing in my collection. I got the SP with the NES edition and that was after DKC's release I think so I guess playing it on the dimmed screen of the first GBA made it alright. But once you add a bit of light those colours are just awful. Can one add a simple filter to desaturate the colours so they look a bit better because the GBA VC on Wii U will need one.

I did eventually get a DKC SNES cart.

Donkey Kong's fur really looks like shit. It's all flat and clumped and ugly, and Christ it looks bad on the 3DS version. It's distracting.

Compare to his wonderfullly fuzzy Tropical Freeze model.

I could see Sakurai still posting a pic even though it's a holiday; it's so low effort that it barely counts as work and he probably gets a kick out of the reactions.

Really? Oh thank goodness. One small step to making this thread decent.
Agreed, avatar bets are the work of the devil and we should never engage in them.

The GBA one looks alright on it's own, but compared to the SNES one it looks awful.

Worth bearing in mind that you *don't* want to look at direct feed GBA screens there - wasn't it a game that was made particularly light to compensate for the dark screens of the original GBA?

Also, I *think* that second screen on GBA may have been taken during a lightning strike.

Not to imply that they're on par - the SNES one still looks better. It's just that I don't think the comparison's quite correct.

Avatar bets are bannable Ship Man. :P
I bet this isn't even true.

Yeah, it's why I think I didn't mind playing DKC GBA when I got it because I played it on the dim screen of the first GBA. But the problem of colour does apply to many GBA games which is why I hope it is possible to apply a simple desaturation filter to the games to make the games look a bit better when they release them on Wii U VC.

Miiverse updated,

Pic of the day. The Peanut Popgun now deals a powerful attack when it explodes. It'll be difficult to hit your target, but when you succeed, the explosion will really blow your enemies away. Give it a shot when you break someone's shield.

Nobody initially cared that it was a direct, infact one of the positives of the direct was that there was way less talking about stuff we as gamers didnt care about, and we were right, there was way less talking and way more focus on games and details about them.
Please don't spout bullshit like this. Compare Nintendo's E3 conference to Sony's and Microsoft's. There was easily more bloat in Nintendo's. Iwata constantly over explaining shit we just saw. Slow speaking. Long times between game trailers.

I'd imagine that the Kongs all call each other "Brother" and "Cousin" and "Uncle" and such even though none of them are related to each other. Tribal bonds and all that y'know?

Makes it less creepy for Diddy and Dixie to be hooking up too.

So Diddy gets another buff? Because he was so bad in the last game, we need to make him stronger /s

In a serious note, that's a cool mechanic there, reminds me of Roy/Ike's attack where fully charged hurts both players (I assume the exploded gun hurts Diddy)

Alright! I am loving all of these buffs! Sakurai seems to know whats up now!

And yes, you're correct, when everyone is over powered, no one is... He already confirmed that was pretty much what he was up to saying giving everyone more power just makes the game feel better, which I just have to agree with.

Compare Lucas's up smash or down smash to Mewtwo's and it is like night and day. Some attacks just feel so satisfying to land in Melee and Brawl while many others just fall so flat.

I really don't think people would use this that often. It isn't really like Marth's and Ike's neutral special. They can have the same effect, just less powerful occur at will. Diddy has to fully charge it to make it explode.

The only scenario I see it happening is if someone is stunned or someone is trying to guard the ledge, but there are much better options to guard the ledge with.

Whaaat so you're saying this is as useful as giving link's downstab a meteor effect :p

Edited: I searched and looked through pages. I even checked other threads' searches, and nothing came up. Maybe you are thinking of something else, like fake picture during time range of Sakurai's post schedule, etc.

There was an image of everything we can't discuss on here. Avatar bets were one of them. Even one of the mods came and gave a warning. I'm not crazy! Or else I would have been doing bets here in this thread. :|
