Do you guys have region restriction on or off? I'm ON currently to reduce possible lag but I might open it up cuz I'm not getting summoned fast enough.

there is a soul memory limit, so remember that. If you are in an area and are currently too high in soul count for it, compared to other players, you will start to see less summons/get summoned.

Oh I see. I guess I'll try the Ruin Sentinel boss room. It's impossible at the Flame Tower now

Ah, I killed some guy in bell tower and he sends me a message calling me a pussy for using a shield. Wtf? he was healing and using a shield, I didn't even heal once.

had an epic duel where I was one hit away from killing him. We charged at one another, I missed and he hit and killed me. So good.

I wanna make a PvP character that just trolls the fuck out of people. I think the pvp elements of this game are the best.

lol, does he think he's playing CoD or something? People can use whatever equipment they want. What a big baby.

About 12 hours in. Just defeated the Ruin Setinels, also found The Lost Sinner and got my ass handed to me at level 67. My gear still isn't the best though. Feels like I hardly have anything good. Checked a guide thinking I might be a decent way into the game. NOPE. I'm literally nowhere it seems. Holy shit!

yea idk about that part but I would give it a few weeks before the troll builds are built. For the most part everyone is still experimenting

I've been having a blast with the PvP I've done so far. I started Dex but switched to Str and am using the Greatsword. The saving grace of the Ultra Greatswords is being able to change where your sword will come down mid-swing by rotating the left stick. Well that and the poise damage.

So anyone have solid suggestions for the best STR or STR/FTH weapons in the game? I'm talking upgraded stuff (PvE as opposed to PvP)

I'm already using the Mace, so I'm just looking at other suggestions.

great swords, great axes and great clubs are pretty crazy powerful STR weapons.

I kind of agree that there are a lot of mundane fights. I've only killed 9 bosses, and 3 of them were pretty basic circle around and slash strategies:

Last Giant
Dragonrider (this guy especially)
Four-armed sword guy

Pursuer
and
Lost Sinner
are also edging on too mundane. The former is saved by some interesting Penetrator-style moves and the latter by his Artorias-like speed and leaping. I wish I had thought to use the ballistas for
Persuer
, if only to add a cool factor.

The problem is that this one on one melee style of boss is too easy. So far only
The Triplets
have taken me more than two tries.

PVP & Co-op have been great overall so far. Only one that annoyed me was when I was helping people with the
Ruin Sentinels
and I got summoned by your_moms_cum, who also happened to have a mic. He was yelling at his mom to leave him alone because he was about to do a boss battle and then repeatedly called the bosses niggers. He sounded at least 30 and was most likely white. Sure enough he got himself killed.

LOL, I restricted voice chat.

Hoo boy. Those
gargoyles. Six of them? FFFF

Yeah. Are they an optional boss? Also, any advice? I've tried splitting them up and what not, but I still managed to get destroyed. Fun. I've also lit the first primal bonfire and I'm wondering where I need to go next. Down the well?

I found using my Aromatic Oozes gave me the DPS boost I needed to get through it at the same point as you.

So this game does have voice chat. I haven't heard anyone yet. Prob a good thing. I like it silent as it is now. Oddly more co-operative this way. Esp for sunbros. I, like a lot of people, will follow the host and do what they want to do. (as well as offer hints like point at hidden doors)

How far are you in the game? Like what is the furthest bosses you beaten?

I've also been thinking about respecing my character to Str/Fai. There is a few Ultra Greatswords I've been looking at and also the Sun Sword from the Heirs of the Sun Covenant I've been working toward. It scales A/A with Str/Dex but you also get the faith spells from the covenant and you can imbue it with lightning that scales with Faith. I'm still unsure but I think I want to stick with Greatsword / Ultra Greatswords that scale with Str/Fai if I can though. Still looking to figure out my final build.

I just beat Jabba last night.

This fucking game!!!!

Not only did i play long enough to get the "this is dark souls" trophy but so did my fucking PS3 60GB launch system...

This game killed my PS3!! I had to take the drive apart to get the disc!

Oh well.. game looked like shit and played like shit. Ill play when its 3.50 on steam.

yeah iam kinda pissed. was hoping it would last till P5

huh, my summon backstabbed me. Wtf is going on? I was in the Grave of Saints and a guy came into my world, he was white and helped me out and then suddenly he back stabs me and kills me.

Heide Knight Sword is really good. Already has lightning damage and you can infuse it at the blacksmith for even more with a boltstone. Then you can buff it on top of that. Sun Sword is not good for elemental but really good if you just upgrade it normally and pump points into dex and strength.

In Dark Souls and Demons, I at least tried each boss once before bringing in co-op. In fact, most of them I beat alone. However, this time, for some reason, I'm totally paranoid and I don't even attempt a boss without bringing in at least the NPC... sometimes 2 real players. Haha.

Anyone else always bring in a buddy?

I've taken buddies each time so far. Why? Because I suck at soloing bosses.

I have definitely found myself doing it a few times. In Dark Souls I never summoned one person, even once but I find myself using a few summons so far. Though I've also summoned the NPC characters because I know it's the only way to progress some of their story lines.

Yep. I find it more fun. Esp as a sunbro. I like helping others as well, so makes sense I would summon others

Less so then in DS1. I get myself summoned a few times as practice then if I feel I could beat the boss alone I put my head down and try, try, try, try, try, try... *five minutes later* ...try, try and try again, until I succeed.

This is actually a much smarter idea than you realize, especially if you're achievement/trophy hunting.

Two of the trophies require you to complete NPC questlines that involve summoning said NPCs to several boss fights and keeping them alive. I'm trying to get those now with Bonfire Ascetics, and it's infinitely harder than it would have been the first time around.

I find myself coop'ing more boses in DS2 than I did in 1, even though it makes most of them ridiculously easy to take down. With decreasing health while hollow, I tend to go human for the boss fights so that I have a full health bar. Once I'm human all those summon signs are hard to resist.

I know he's objectively easy, but my sucky play style doesn't suit him. I like to tank boss attacks (TLS in Sinner's Rise was the easiest boss by far when I could take his hits), but this boss' attacks go through everything.

Yeah I'm a Tank myself, but his attack takes way too muck stamina to defend, so I just step back when he begins his attack animation, and when it ends he stays still for 2 seconds, perfect time to strike.

which trophies are those?

Never summoned anyone in DSI, maybe because I was so late to the party, but just now I realized how much fun this stuff actually is. Like I posted earlier. Been setting my summon sign in the wharf too, helping others is a lot of fun.

I'm sure this has been answered but I just can't find the answer for the life of me, so: what do I lose if I die in a world where I was summoned to help?

So is it possible to get more than one
moonlight greatsword
by using bonfire ascetics and then dual wield them? Because that'd be ridiculous.

Also, how is it in this game? In demon's it's not so good but I loved using it in dark.

so how long is this game? Right now I've defeated 6 bosses, the
Last Giant, Pursuer, Dragonrider, Ruin Sentinels, Flexile Sentry, Last Sinner

how far am I? I feel like I've progressed quickly, but at the same time I feel there is still a lot of things to see (haven't even found pyromancies yet, barely have many sorceries)

After avoiding them all Dark Souls 1 and most of 2.....I'm finally joining the sunbros

Can't believe I'm doing this somebody kill me

You are probably 1/4 the way trough or so.

It's ok, time for some Jolly Cooperation.

Moonlight Greatsword
and
Lucatiel

Do you actually have to summon them to every single boss (where they are available), or just chat with them? I've chatted with them at every turn so far (not done with game, so nowhere near their last encounter). Hopefully I can get those this run through.

You need to
summon them 3 times, and they must survive all the 3 boss battles
