Where is that? Don't think I've met her. Any tips on areas to explore would be good too. Got to the
bottom of the well and got blown up pretty badly.

I would avoid going down the hole in Majula for a bit personally - it's not a very fun place, lol. If I were you, I'd go to the Heide Ruins and progress there some. It will also lead you to a really handy ring (
Ring of Binding - you lose a lot less health upon being hollow
. To get to Heide Ruins, go to the right of where the cat house is and into the little building. Keep following the path until you get to some sewers with a shut gate. There's a switch on the wall to the left of the gate that will open it for you. Keep going and you're there.

Gutter sucks

The Gutter is a masterpiece compared to the next area. ;) ;) ;)

So I'm at lost Bastille, I can't for the life of me get past that room of all those soldiers. I open the door and they all charge at me.

Anyone know where the claymore is too?

I ran past them, dropped down and opened the door at the bottom. It leads to a bottomless pit but if you spawn at the blacksmith and take the right at the top of the stairs you can jump into the now open door to where the ladder is. Climb up and you can sneak past the whole lot of them with no risk ( apart from the jump in the first place)

Holy shit, Chloanne (ore merchant) pretty much revealed that
all of the Souls games exist in some kind of nether region. She claims that the land of Drangleic has seen the rise and fall of many kingdoms whose names have been lost to history. It is likely that these old kingdoms she's talking about we're called Boleteria and Lordran.

However, if this is true then it means that the way people came to these ancient kingdoms was the same. It becomes clear by talking to NPCs that they don't have a clue how they got to Drangleic. Like we see the protagonist do in the opening cinematic, they too were undead who wandered to a portal to Drangleic as if drawn by an invisibleforce. When characters in the game talk about the kingdoms they hail from, they're talking about places in the real world that are inaccessible from Drangleic - they exist on another plane of existence. However, once in this world of the undead, they create a new history that forms the lore of all Souls games. This is why the flow of time is distorted in all of the games, why heroes from different times wander in and out,

This also explains why the games are so fucking hard and dark. The curse of the undead isn't that you're going hollow, but also that you have to do it in the world of a Souls game. The reason souls games have intimidating atmospheres is because they take place in Hell.

I hope the games expands on this topic. It was such an interesting tidbit of lore to get from an unexpected source.

You probably have the key. I don't recall where you get it in
Iron Keep
, but it's probably one of those things that is hard to miss. xD

No prob!

Great, just ran through that area real quick. Thanks for telling me about the holes. I would have probably fallen to my death, which I almost did, lol. I guess it's back to
The Shrine of Amana.

Yeah, it's pretty interesting. SO many NPCs talk about
how they don't remember how they got to Drangleic. I'm not sure if the areas of Drangleic were once Lordran, but I wouldn't be surprised since several npcs talk about the rise and fall of kingdoms on the land.

haha nice. I was honestly pissed when I fell and died because I had to kill those annoying enemies again. D:

Based on the progression through Drangleic, I can say with 100% certainty that
Drangleic and Lordran are one in the same. There are too many parallels in the world layout for it not to be the case. With that said though, I don't think the same parallels can be made to Boletaria...

MOTHER FUCKING KILLED THE
ANCIENT DRAGON
!!!!!

YEAAAAASSSSS

Granted I had to respec into a STR build to do it but man that was satisfying. With
me having 5 Souls of Giants, Vendrick was a piece of cake. Beat him first try.

Now to use Ascetics to get the achievement for summoning
Lucatiel
and I'll be one step closer to dat platinum.

Is there any equivalent to the book of the guilty in dark souls 2? Any leaderboard item?

Curious cause the pardoner doesn't sell anything of the sort, not even indictments.

endgame sorcery holy shit

Hmm, I don't feel like I'm doing enough damage... What spells do you use mainly? And how many attunement slots do you have? And what weapon? If you don't mind answering. :x

Oh interesting. I didn't even really think about it like that. I can definitely see some parallels.

Ha ain't that the truth. Short, bur certainly not sweet at all. I think I had the most deaths so far in the game just getting to the boss there. Loved the luminescence though.

I actually think the area is really beautiful (in a kinda creepy way). But the stuff they do in there... ugh. The designer of that area was obviously having a shitty day. Thank god it's fucking short. xD

I was only stuck there for about a day. I was more surprised that I even made it through (area)
Black Gulch
in one sitting with only a couple of deaths.

I was super careful and made it through on my first try but then I missed the bonfire before the boss and died there, now i get to do it ALLLLL AGAIN

How the hell do I run across lava without taking a shit tonne of damage?

I already have the
Flame Quartz Ring
equipped as well as taking some Orange burrs. I still die 3 steps in

TEACH ME YOUR WAYS!

Well, used a soul vessel to go int for a bit. 50 int, Soul Geyser with 14 simpleton's spices applied, and a +5 Magic Staff of Wisdom. Each cast took down
Old Iron King's
health by 20~25% or so. Soul Greatsword seems to hit for 1k on phantoms.

A few tips:

Equip Flame Quartz Ring.
Equip Pyromancy glove and buy the spell Flash Sweat. (you get this spell from freeing the
girl npc on the way to Shaded Woods. She sells it. She will also move back to Majula if you give her a set of armor to wear (any will do). Also, don't open the Shaded Woods door where she was because you might accidentally kill her (since enemies bum rush you when you open it).
).

If there's any water around (sometimes in vases or through using a pharros contraption), stand in the water for a second (water on the feet gives you a shit ton of fire resistance for about a minute or so), then race to the lava. Pop on Flash Sweat, and use a lifegem. Runnnnn! If need be, use a flask.

Ah, cool thanks! I forgot I picked up Soul Greatsword earlier today. I should that one out. :)

Souls from bosses, I've found the place to trade them for weapons, do they have any other function bar giving you more souls?

Think I'm going for the Peruser's sword 8-)

Oh lord. So no easy fix like DS1?

Never once had an issue putting down a summoning sign and typically had no problem summoning people either. Sometimes I'd gave a "summon sign disappeared" notification when I tried to summon someone but it wouldn't take too long before more popped up. After downloading 1.02 and playing for a couple of hours, I can't do shit. Summon sign fails all the time and I haven't seen a single summoning sign appear since.

Bamco is apparently looking into it, according to the community manager who is active on reddit. Hope this gets fixed as soon as possible..

Final boss beaten earlier today, but before going to NG+ I have a lot of farming and getting some items plus doing 3 optional bosses I still need to kill.
Took me something like 97 hours (SL151) to get to this point, I took my sweet time exploring and killing enemies.

I really really loved the story in this one, a real treat for DaS1 lore fans. Though I think the end cinematic is less "good" than DaS1, or at least I felt there was a better "closure" to the ends of DaS1.

Man summoning being broke is shyte. Wanted to coop and powerlevel before going into a ng+ speedrun before trading the game next week.

Is the "one limitation" you're referring to Soul Level? If so, it DEFINITELY wasn't enough. Seen and defended people from enough twinked out lowbie ganking trolls in DS1 to last a lifetime.

Screwing those people out of their little griefing party is a movement I fully support, even though it was fun to wreck their asses and help the new characters get through at times.

What Dresden said.

I think he's referring to the limited supply of cracked red orbs in NG. Can't even farm them indefinitely due to mob extinction.

Attention dude who summoned me as a grey spirit in Pharros and then proceeded to pelt me with arrows, and send me hate mail after I ran upstairs and kicked you off the edge:

git gud

Killed
Vendrick
wasn't too bad. Had a pretty good shield and was doing decent damage with just 4 giant souls. Can see how it can be a pain with other builds that can't tank him. Do I get anything else other than the trophy for beating him? I don't think I saw anything pop up.
