Super Smash Bros. for 3DS and Wii U Thread 5: Yarning for Yoshi

TroubledBat announces he won't be here for tonight and of course that's taken as further fuel for the Hype Train. God I love this community so much. After the game comes out I hope Sakurai does updates on DLC just so this keeps going.

It is just so amazing that almost every character reveal he had to be somewhere or was sick, or whatever.
 
I am tired and I want to sleep .... but I don't want to sleep because when I come back I will look at the amount of new pages and go "omfg they announced Palutena riding Ridley" and then will be like "oh no, just 10 more pages of nothingness" =P

Kirby Super Star anniversary is tomorrow, and Kirby Anniversary and Kid Icarus Uprising Anniversary are on March 23.

However, Meta Knight became one of important character in Kirby: Super Star from what I understand, so I can see why people are betting on MK being reveal tomorrow. Just keep your expectation in check just in case.
 
Does seem like an extremely long time since we have had a veteren (even though I think it hasn't even been a month) I'm usually one of the people that enjoys the mechanics/balance/(overpowering everyone) updates a lot more than veteren reveals or "new" stuff but dang I have started to succumb to the need for a veteran reveal. Stupid SmashGAF and your insatiable hype!

The Smash hype is contagious.

Question for you guys. Is the Smash universe the mind of child playing with his toys? Or a connected video game world similar to Captain N? I'd love to hear your thoughts on it.

Despite Brawl's efforts (the subspace emmisary although you could argue they are still trophey's in that game as well) I still like the idea that it is all just some kids imagination playing with his action figures. I think that that theory actually holds up better if like many people on here believe - rather than re-balance everyone Sakurai is just making them all over-powered! You just know that some kid would have the idea that Captain Falcon's knee could send any character rocketing to their doom!

Brawl never retconned that, they're still trophies/toys/figures that a kid plays with.
 
the 3ds version seems like it plays a lot differently compared to the wii u game and more closer to brawl. based on the developer direct video at least

Yeah, that was what I tried to state in the paranthesis but I didn't do a good job. I just feel like the whole subspace story tried to make it seem more like a cohesive universe. I just didn't care much for SSE other than some of the characters interacting with one another; it just seemed unneccessary. Then again, although I rarely play any other fighters, I do find it silly that they try and incorporate stories into fighting games.

Or it could've just been other random toys in the kids toy box. When I was younger (oh gosh, I must be old to use that line) I always had rediculous fights with my action figures - Boba Fett and Donatello fighting Snake Eyes and Bucky' O Hare plus their dinosaur army! It made me pretty happy to hear in Nintendo's investor's meeting that they were looking into expanding their brands marketability and branching out to lending their licences to other properties. I would love to collect action figures of all the smash bros figures and then (have my future kids) play smash bros while not playing smash bros.

I did the same thing back in the day, lol. Actually I started collecting the Mario figures, the Retro Roto Mega Man, and Sonic figures. I have a little Smash Bros collection that I'm trying to start up. My 5 year old though keeps trying to steam my Peach figure.
