Well, yeah. That's what I been doing. It's just so rude by them! I even do the "Mock" gesture during the fight against those people in the hopes that it'll piss them off even more when I whopped their asses.

If you burn the windmill with a torch the poison goes away.
 
Is anyone else not able to download this stupid patch? My internet is working fine but it says download failed after like 20 times. I wouldn't mind but I need help beating the freaking

Go INSIDE all 3 portals. Each portal is literally a different zone.
Finish your TRUE task of lighting up 3 fire in there.
Getting rid of the Dark blah blah plot point
Now the hole at the end is the same, it will lead to the boss no matter which portal you go into...so pick the one with the nearest bonfire to rest at and fight the boss by jumping in the hole at the end.

Also this game seems huge i have like 3 bosses i can probably take on right and i don't feel particulary close to the end after 30 hours btw i'm soul level 103.

Heh, I sorta regretted blowing a stone on that until I saw you could farm them somewhat easily and I ended up stockpiling them anyway. Well, I could always burn a bonfire ascetic if I want to rationalize it further than making it easier to do over and get to the mage.

Next to everyone's an asshole though, somewhat at least. There's only a small handful of people who don't really act that way most of the time, and some of those will under the right circumstances. Hell, there's Straid who gives a pissy remark whether or not you buy anything from him, and usually you only get those if you DID skip on buying anything.

had smelter demon at 1%, WHY DIDN't I JUST DODGE THAT LAST ATTACK. WHY DIDN't I JUST LOB MY LAST LIGHTNING SPEAR, WHY DID I FEEL COMPELLED TO DO A CLIMATIC JUMP ATTACK.

Why.

Edit: By the way, for the same iron keep boss, I read some GAF posts saying they managed to beat

I'll ask again in case someone who has already finished the game (or is late into the game) can help me:

I need help knowing where to go:

I've lit the 4 primal bonfires.... what should I do now?
I know I can go to Drangleic Castle but are there some missable sideareas or bosses I might be missing? I did the big rat and the charriot

If you go through the middle path from the same bonfire that takes you to Drangleic castle there are some big black doors that tell me I must "produce the symbol of the king" or something like that. How do I open them?

Also, are there some hidden armors somewhere. I've honestly only found a bunch of them and according to the Wiki there are A LOT.

I've used the Heide Lance until SL~100, mostly for PvE. It's not thaaat bad in PvP, but a bit boring. Because of that I've recently made the switch to halberds.
My second slot is a simple Longbow. Why? For one to snipe people who are potting. If they have their shield down my bow does between 200-400 damage. That's not terrible for 18 dex. Also to simply piss people off. You aren't allowed to use your bow if they are in roll into attack distance, but if they aren't and simply wait with their shield up ... shoot'em. Sure - I only do 30 or so damage against their shield up, but most of they time they get annoyed and rush you.
The two spells I'm running are Flame Weapon and Flame Swathe.

Hopefully co-op will work again tomorrow. I've completly cleared my first playthrough and would like to do some more PvP before I jump into ng+.

That really depends. From the forked path in the Shaded Woods did you
open the other door that required the King's Ring?
If you did that did you clear that path? In that case
check the other door in the Forest of the Fallen Giants.

Also, for future reference if you don't mind a vague spoiler:
you will need to go there again. And it was possible to not even go before you had to.

Alright, just got disconnected and also can't leave a summon sign. something's up with the servers on my end now,
 
It's so incredibly annoying when you try to invade/dish out punishment to guilty and the multiplayer fails causing you to restart the game since you can't used any more cracked orbs.

Continue on to the castle, you have lots to do and much of it is locked until you finish it.

Wait, that still happens? What the fuck did this patch even fix?

. . . They only fixed the humanity restoration glitch, didn't they? I hope they did more because that's the last thing ANYONE wanted fixed! Especially if it'd break online play for most of us!

Just lost my first guilty killer fight of the day too. All hope is lost.
 
question about a certain "princess" that you met in a "castle"

on first time meeting nas, watch happens if you try to attack her or use your bow? I have the urge to do so

iirc, nothing happens. I didn't test it myself, but that's what I read in this thread a while back. Gotta admit, it was tempting to send an arrow her way just to see what happened, lol.
 
Holy fuck the
chariot
fight is intense in ng+. Looking forward to seeing how harder the easier ng bosses are.

ng+ feels a little disappointing otherwise so far. It's like their idea of "harder" is just "throw out a shitload of red phantoms and let rng sort it out."
 
I feel like there was a missed oppurtunuty with
Earthen Keep,
it was like they were trying to go for a
Sen's Fortress
type level, but it felt very underwhelming. Too short and easy.
 
I have all of these boss souls and I haven't unpetrified the guy who turns them into weapons. Other than the dragon rider that makes a bow (I use bows all the time) which should I just consume?

That's going to depend entirely on what types of weapons you use. Some souls can be used for one of several weapons.

To be honest...all the weapons feel pretty weaksauce to me. The regular standard weapons you get throughout the game, when upgraded, feel infinitely better--for instance I'm using the Uchigatana and a standard Longsword (both dark and +10) and they are absolutely amazing. I mean you can get a few for novelty or that do something cool (like the Dragonrider twinblade, for instance) but aside from that, meh. I have almost all of them just sitting in my inventory too just wondering what to do with them. I'm already at the "pvp cap of SL 150" so it feels douchey to go higher. The guy who sells the boss souls also gives you the armor from the beta too (the dual swordsman armor) so thats kind of a bonus, I guess.
 
welp, i killed the boss in
iron keep (the easy one).
now to have fun with the other where everyone else is having/had issues with
 
Did the patch improve any performance? I did some running through places I cleared and it seems smoother. Maybe it's a placebo effect. PS3 here
 
Will increasing my adaptability reduce the button lag? How did you guys compensate for the lag in the inputs? Or do I just have to proactively react things before they happen?

If I stand to lose more than gain until it's patched again it doesn't sound like a bad idea!

But no, I liked the social aspects and the ability to hire help with needed, even if there may be a few irritating or even outright infuriating invaders (YOU MISERABLE PIECE OF SHIT YOU SAW ME OPEN THE FOG GATE LET ME LIGHT THE BONFIRE RIGHT THE FUCK AFTER IT BEFORE YOU KILL ME), but if I'm going to have trouble laying summons I'm going to have fewer people to call on, and may just be invaded by some prick anyway so unless I'm seeking out a challenge it probably is better to just go offline now.

EDIT: Laying signs works for me now. Why do angry internet rants always fix these things?

down on 5th try. What a cool boss design, reminds me a suped-up judge from FFXII. Couldn't keep the NPC chick alive though, oh well.

Stick to the left side of the area in the water and you'll find a submerged bridge that will lead you across the underwater chasm and the locked door I'm talking about. I was worried about nonstop invasions prior to playing the game (due to how they changed invasion mechanics), but... I've yet to be invaded once while in a regular area. I've only been invaded or summoned into another's world in those 4 pvp-ish areas. I like playing online for the messages on the ground. There's a lot of secret/illusion walls in the game, and I probably wouldn't have found most of them without help of others, lol.
