Dark Souls II |OT2| Prepare to Vengarl

- There's a door that requires the king's ring in the forest. Behind this door is a giant (and a mem. sequence)
- There's a giant near the place Mild Mannered Pate first appeared
- A giant after the Pursuer boss (you know, where you look out on the sea and you can climb the giant sword. You can warp to bastille here.)
- One more giant, without a memory sequence, in the place with all the turtle armor guys. There's a bonfire here.
- One extra if you can beat the Ancient Dragon

There's another one.

There are two living Giants in The Black Gulch that drop another Soul when killed, you need to drop down a couple of ledges in front of where that second black wall worm pops out.

Was disappointed when I saw the game has inconsistent framerate. I really really would have liked it to be locked at 30. Now it's just stuttery and has masive slowdowns in some areas. It's worse than Dark Souls' Blighttown.

Other than that the game is good, but it's annoying me so much that I am tempted to wait for the PC version.

Because I saw a big fucker standing in a building and a message that said "ambush" and something about a strong enemy... So I shot his ass.
Dude was just chilling drinking some mead, yo. Not cool.
LOL! If you can't lock on to it it's a friendly. Curse those cold hearted bastard's and their messages. >:[

Hay, there ain't nothing wrong with that sword. It's an amazing sword. Your best bet is to look up the DS2 wiki for weapons and see if there's something you might like.

So many choices if you wanna go big weapon, small, or in between like a Katana (my personal choice). Hell, if I get bored of my Katana I used a regular ass +10 Dark Longsword (like the first weapon you find in the game) and it still destroys faces.

Yeah I try to stay off wiki, once I'm there I start spoiling everything.

I haven't run into a katana type yet.

I was way out of the building, you can see him as soon as you hit the peak of the level which makes it really easy to mistake him for an enemy.

I actually enjoyed that place, I will say that one room that you can get 5 royal soldiers on your ass if your not careful is BS.

I benny hill/yakety sax'd them on those platforms where you jump down, circle around to get back up, just so I can jump down again, until they all fell into the cracks and died.

there have been several areas that I wonder how magic builds are supposed get through the shit? lol

trust me, it's not fun.

Cracked Red Eye Orbs are extremely rare in NG. They drop and are found in only a very few locations. I think I had like 5 after beating the game--so people aren't bothering. Most of the PvP seems to be going down in NG+ as you can get the invading orbs more reliably--which is a shame.

That´s the thing, i´m in new game plus and sitting at sl 149. From what i heard that´s the go to lvl for pvp but i still never get invaded which is kinda sad.

Ya, dunno, man. I've got 5+ chars who have hit SL 80+ and my main who is at 150 and I was never invaded once. It's really a shame.

I was invaded quite frequently in the previous games.

A few enemies seem to have fairly consistent Cracked Red Eye Orb drops. I have 18 of them, and still have a decent bit of the game to go.

So I've come to the conclusion that the dual-blade weapon sucks balls. After killing 3 enemies with it, its durability is down to nearly half. It just hits the ground no matter what, thus destroying itself. It doesn't help matters that it seems much weaker than many other vanilla weapons. Looks cool but I can't see getting through an area with that without having 5 repair powders on me.

Oh, and I made it to that place directly after the Shade Forest and my god is it so beautiful. Best looking area I've seen yet outside of Majula itself.

Oooooh! That's where you saw him. Damn that sucks. I saw him there too thinking he was a enemy, but I wanted to melee it out. Thank god I didn't shoot him.

Started this game yesterday, only played 1 hour. I didn't notice that I had aggro'ed the pigs when I wanted to level up. I panicked and accidently hit the girl that levels you up. She said: What are you doing? I was ready to restart the game but she was cool with the fact that I hit her face with my sword.

Are blue sentinels broken? I've spent many hours in the bell tower pvping and I was never summoned, only invaded constantly.

That's a side effect of the limitation to red phantom invasions. No red phantoms, no blue sentinels.
They implement a cool mechanic and break it with some stupid design.

Does anyone else always put a summon sign before fighting a boss to test it? Suppose it's kind of cheating.

I didn't in past games when playing melee oriented characters, but I've been doing that a lot more this time around as a pure caster. Sometimes I do it just to get the free spell refresh right at the boss door.

Rough early on when you use almost all of your available casts just to get to the boss, on levels with no convenient bonfire to recharge at.

NPCs need to be hit like 4 or 5 times before they turn aggro this time around. When I butchered all NPCs before moving to NG+, I killey ALL of them before they even turned aggro lol.

I have not found an ember yet, I think I know where one is though.

Iron Keep?

Yup.

After you get to the main area (the first time you see lava in the open area) it's directly to the right under the guy shooting arrows at you. You have to cross the bridge, turn right, jump the gap, and them make a jump to the wooden stairs below.

well i started NG+ last night but infamous comes out today lets see if i hookup my PS3 and go back to DS2 or not once im done with second son, i kinda doubt it but maybe... be a good test to see how much interest i still have in it

I'm kinda disappointed with D
rangleic
C
astle
.

It looks amazing from the outside. A huge gothic castle like nothing else in the game.
Then when you enter, it's just grey and drab.

B
rightstone
C
ove
also suffers from the grey. Well grey and beige, but mostly grey.

Did the lead artist of Dark Souls go with Hidetaka Miyazaki to work on another project?

What's a good couple of places to use my bonfire ascetics for some soul grinding? I've just finished
Shrine Of Amana
but want to go back and level up for a while.

area after you beat Belfry Luna boss
To add to that,
the Belfry Luna is near the bonfire right after you beat the Ruin Sentinels. You need a Pharos lockstone.

Oh my god the final boss, I died about 5 times before realizing you could
kill the Orbs
then the fight took about 45 seconds.
It took me a bunch of tries until I realized I could just
back away, then there was no chance to get hit by the scythe. I kept going for the circle strafe-> dodge thing that worked so well against most bosses. The last one really doesn't do much to go out and get you. The only long range attacks are the really punishable laser beam and vertical scythe attacks.

Similarly, I'd love if someone knows what the Bonfire Ascetics Bosses drop. Would love to check out a boss and grab a NG+ weapon.

If you're gonna invest a bit in dex I'd rather go for buffed rapiers. I don't know how whips stack up in the game yet since I still have to try them but unless they got a decent buff I wouldn't put too much stock into them.

thanks. i'm gonna think about respec'ing and see what i can get.

i'm a bit of a role-player so i think wielding a whip with my current outfit would be extremely appropriate.

i'll give it a shot.

Don´t know if you guys know but the ring of life protection breaks at death but doesn´t disappear.
It cost only 3000 to repair it up after it breaks. So basically you never lose anything if you go and repair it up.

So in (late game spoilers)
Aldias Keep whats up with the large door with a number of locks, near the caged enemies? And sometimes petrified statues appear there out of nowhere. Creepy...
