Pre e3: not committed folks, do you want to buy xb1/ps4 right now?

So infamous just came out which is pretty much the last big game before e3 for current gen stuff. People that haven't committed yet, what's your current hype level for either system based off everything known until today? Do you predict you will pick up either in 2014?

Personally, I'm not seeing any signs pointing to any must buy console exclusives that will come out in 2014. Maybe next year. Which is why I decided to get a used 780 instead of a ps4. Tbh the only really interesting stuff for me this year are on handhelds or ps3. And I expect diablo 3 will have me busy for a bit anyhow. And all the big AAA games announced are coming to PC.

Morpheus seems neat but that's a long ass while.

Right now price is the biggest issue for me. I'm not looking for an official price drop, but if I can find a PS4 for ~$300 then that's when I'll jump in.

I already bought inFamous though. Preemptive Strike!

My hype is really low. [EDIT:]moderate. I have been very excited for launches before, mostly because I new there was gameplay that existed on that console that is unlike anything I've played before. I just don't see what I'm missing out on so far. No games really are different enough from what I already have with all the other platforms available. None that warrant $400. Destiny seems like an experience I can only get on next-gen though. At least it has sold me on that idea and I plan to buy one around the time of its launch.

Nah, the wiiu, 3ds, and some last-gen followup purchases have me set for a long while unless something really cool gets announced so that hype overrides sense.

No, other than infamous there is no reason for me to buy a PS4 right now and I probably won't pick one up until 2016 or 2017, as I am content with my PS3, Wii U and 3DS.

Plus I plan to buy a Vita in the summer.

For right now, my PS3 and Wii U are still serving me well enough. And unless E3 or TGS shows me anything that changes my mind, a PS4 may have to wait until next year.

Oh shit. Forget all about that. Looks a bit too much like borderlands but we are seriously lacking on info for that. Would totally get a ps4 if that turns out good.

I own a few XB1 and Wii U games that I played on friends consoles. Nothing on PS4 is really interesting to me right now.

I will own all three eventually, though.

If you really care, my order of "Sort of want" right now goes PS3, Wii U, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox 1 last. I really just play mostly on PC now.

I have a Wii U for exclusives, and a PC for multi-plats (and PC exclusives). If I didn't have the PC, though, I could see Wii U + PS4 being a good option.

Nope. Too expensive for my bones right now and I have no time to play any games I already own let alone adding another one.

Probably won't buy at all actually, but I would be tempted when they drop below 300 (ideally $200 is my upper limit)

I want Destiny and The Phantom Pain on PS4. I own a PC too though and people saying that they'll come to it make me unsure. I want to play them at launch, not three months after the initial release when some port is released.
inFamous is another I have been checking out, but no other PS4 games currently interest me (played KZ:SF all the way through at a friend's place and thought it was worse than the PS3 games which I liked a lot).

I have last gen consoles but I don't want to play Destiny on PS3 and I don't want to pay for XBL again.

EDIT: Also, stock of the PS4 is holding me back. No store within 100 miles has had one since launch. Online is an option but I would prefer in-store.

I'm not ready to hop onto either platform. There's simply not enough games on either that I'm interested in to warrant a purchase. E3 may change my mind but as of now, I don't think I'll be buying either in 2014.

Nothing has really been shown yet that is terribly influential, especially if you also own a decent PC. Quantum Break is the only title that might tempt me, but that's based more on the Remedy name than anything shown of the game yet. Frankly, I think Rockstar is the only one that could really sell me a console right now.

The largest obstacle for me right now when it comes to buying a PS4 is the availability. Right now it's really hard to get a hold of one, and the stores in my country are trying to scalp people as a result of this. At this moment the price would correspond with $700 according to my currency converter.

The second issue is a lack of games that interest me. So for E3 I am hoping for release dates on already announced games and tons of new IP.
So right now my hype is pretty low, and I'm in no rush to buy a new console. Maybe at the end of 2014 or early 2015 depending on when Metal Gear Solid V releases.

I was going to get a PS4 then they raised the price to $450. Sony should have just ate the loss Canada isn't exactly a huge market.

Part of me still wants one even though I moved to pc. I'm going back and forth on if I will ever get one or not. Xb1 holds my interest more than Ps4, but if I do get one it won't be for 2 or 3 years.

I say it's not worth it, and the PS3/PC backlog is massive. However I pulled the trigger and ordered a PS4 inFamous bundle online yesterday, simply because of a insane deal (£346) and I also managed to snag Killzone Shadow Fall for 85p on PSN due to a price error. I was going to wait until a Destiny bundle before jumping in. As that's when games will start coming out. What I will do is refrain from buying any games, inFamous, Killzone and PSN+ games should keep me busy until Destiny, and of course my PS3/PC backlog.

No. There are still no games announced for any console other than the WiiU that I could care about that I can't get on my PC. Sorry, I just don't care about 3rd Person Shooters, so no Order and Quantum Break which seem like the only high-profile games I can think off right now. I'm planning on buying a console at christmas so I hope some stuff gets announced.

I'm sure I'll get a PS4 eventually. I sorta want inFamous and Dynasty Warriors but neither really makes me want to spend the money. Maybe I'll buy one if I come across one when I get my tax return, but I'm content with my Wii U and Bone for now.

Always wait for the first $100 price drop, first/second year games will be cheap and new games will be made with more next gen experience under their belt

I'm still waiting for PS4 to get more interesting AA/AAA games. Their indie push has been a smart and awesome move. Unfortunately most of those are hit or miss with me.

Nope. Not even close.

Neither consoles have any really interesting offerings as it stands right now; both of them have potential in the long run, but I'm going to wait to see the execution of some well-known franchises in the next gen (Halo, God/Gears of War, Uncharted, Fallout) before jumping on-board the next-gen train.

There is inFamous and Dead Rising, so there's that. Those just aren't enough to sell me yet. :/

At this point I'll be waiting until the holidays. Nothing really interests me as of right now, but E3 will likely change that, especially if the Xbone leaks are true.

If I had to make a choice today, I'd go with Xbone, as a 360 gamer since 06, I'm in the ecosystem, I can't abandon my game score (lame I know) and I love the new controller.

But if Sony drops some bombs, and The Show plays is as good as it looks, then I might have to make the switch.

Nope, just the Wii U. After learning a valuable lesson from buying a PS3 for Versus XIII and The Last Guardian, I'll make sure to wait until games I'm interested in are not just announced, but released before picking up the PS4 and Xbox One.

If I didn't buy my PS4 at launch, I would have bought one this week to play Infamous.

Price, kinect an graphical ability are issues that need to be resolved before I buy an XB1. Almost definitely by Gears of War launch though.

Wii U wasn't mentioned, but basically nintendo needs to prove that the system isn't deceased.

yea - waiting to see how the steam machines pan out.

If I think I can get what I want from those and a rift, thats what i'll go for

If not - Ps4 it is

No current hype at all for PS4 or XB1, maybe E3 will change that with a slew of games I want to play, currently I am more hyped for my OR DK2 to arrive later in the year :)

No. There are no games that interest me yet. It's highly unlikely that I'll get a PS4 this year. I'll wait for more games and a price drop

I've already got a 3DS and PC, no real need for an Xbox One or PS4 at this point for me. I'll never say never though. If I did end up getting one of the two it would most likely be a PS4 based on the current climate but as servbot said, it's really a matter of waiting to see what christmas is gonna be like this year.

I was going to get a PS4 then they raised the price to $450. Sony should have just ate the loss Canada isn't exactly a huge market.

People from the states would have imported the system from canada. A $360 PS4 would be amazing.

For me, there are games I would buy if I had the consoles (Killzone, Infamous, Dead Rising 3), but none that I would I actually buy a console for. Right now, Forza Horizon 2 is the only game I know of on either console that might push me over the edge.

Completely happy with Wii U, 3DS and PC as my active platforms at the moment.
