Super Smash Bros. for 3DS and Wii U Thread 5: Yarning for Yoshi

http://neorice.tumblr.com/post/80351115175/zelda-ssb4-stages

I saw people talking about Smash stages in here earlier, so I put together a post on Tubmlr with my opinions on uh ... at least the Zelda stages so far.

(linking it so it can keep the images)

Zelda in my opinion is one of the franchises to have had a good track record for SSB stages. No horrible ones and very few ones I don't consider great.

That was a good read! I never really thought about how consistent Zelda is (basically the opposite of the characters), I think Eldin is so average I forget about the rest. I do Iike Great Bay's layout though, it was one of the few stages I felt seemed to be taken straight from the game, and the water/no castles was a nice change of pace. Of course, that's why I love Pirate Ship too.

For me Great Bay kinda falls in the category of it doing well referencing the game but ... It references a location I don't find particularly visually pleasing to begin with?

I guess it's kinda similar to Eldin for me in that way, I can respect the referene and don't loathe the visuals, but they're just not the best locations I could've pictured.

I'm officially booked for San Diego Comic Con.

I'm officially broke

2 hours of Smash 4 video content coming your way July 2014 get hype

Yeah, I can definitely see where you're coming from. If before Melee someone had told me there would be a MM stage, Great Bay would have been the last things I thought of. I think I like it more because I like the color blue and the turtle.

They did for NYCC and SDCC.

Source: I have been there.

Well I'll be. Every time I follow those cons I only watch for the new toys and NInja Turtle info. Guess I'll have to be on the look out now. Really wanted to go this year and take my family but won't be able to. Sucks cause I live on the West Coast :(

You live on the West Coast, so I don't see how it would stop you from going to San Diego Comic Con since it's in CA.

Can us average joes still attend the event if we've got no affiliations with the industry? If so, how much does it cost?

As far as I know, it's still only open to certified press and exhibitors, and even then it's horribly expensive. I only qualify because I'm a Nintendo Life contributor, and it's something I'm saving up for.

I wish it were open to the general public though. I think it'd be better for the event and the industry at large.

I drew my top SSB4 desires today.

I hope Nintendo has playable demos at Best Buy again for E3 games (including SSB4) this year. Last year was a lot of fun, even if I would have preferred it to just be a timed demo on the Eshop or something like that.
