Dark Souls II |OT2| Prepare to Vengarl

Ruin sentinels were way more difficult and it took me about 15 tries on chariot. Some bosses were complete cake though, it seems to either make the game trivial or super hard depending on the encounter. I don't remember DS1 being quite so variable.

So is there any armor that competes with Drangleic? Because this thing is just ridiculous. The only penalty is weight and its not even that bad. I can't find a single thing that seems better...

I wish I didn't reaaaally hate the chestpiece, because the rest of the armor is okay and the cape is great...

Aloune Captain armor?

For being the armor set that was used to promote the game, the Faraam armor is in the oddest spot. I completely didn't notice I had it all this time until a little bit ago, and I'm nearing the end of the game.

Yeah, that's the problem with magic in DS2. It's never been like that with bosses before, and the one you mentioned was one of the most problematic ones. I have NO idea how you could have trouble with
the Chariot
, though.

I just stayed in one of the wall cracks during that entire boss fight, using the binoculars to shoot powerful arrows at the Executioner Chariot each time it passed by. I used Yearn at the beginning of the battle to give me space to get in the corner I needed to, eliminated the sorcerer enemy from the crevasse, and just spammed magic at the Chariot until it was dead. No health lost.

Were you trying to face it like a warrior?

Man, I wonder if I'm being too neurotic about picking the game clean before moving on to NG+. I should probably just get on with it, especially as I bought most of the stuff from merchants that isn't infinite stock and I think I found most everything there is to find.

Probably, I ran the gauntlet with barely any stamina and a leather shield. Pretty dumb I know but I did it :)

Beat the
gargoyles
first try though. Oh, and what the hell with the lack if catalysts but the over abundance of chimes in the first several areas?

Aloune Captain armor?

The Faraam set fully upgraded is a bit better than the Drangleic and it looks great too.

Vengarl's is better too, and really easy to get although it looks like complete garbage.

Havel's has about double the defense, but it's pretty heavy.

For protection, looks and weight, Faraam is hard to top.

The Ancient Dragon is so hard. Can't even get away from his air fire attack because it covers the entire arena.
Not the ENTIRE arena, but it's such a huge area that you basically have to be running in the right direction full stop from the moment you see the animations indicating he's starting, and you'll probably still die.

Speaking of him...anyone try him NG+ yet?

Can you summon people for the fight?

hmm, does using a blue cracked orb not reward you any souls or anything? Finally had a successful invasion on the guilty (took like 6 tires before I killed someone before they killed me lol). But I didn't get any souls from the player. Perhaps that player didn't have any on them.

I'm actually 70 hours into this game now, and only had like 3 invasions. At least there I've kicked their butts. Makes me notice that doing invasions and being invaded are really different. Being invaded, I have the high ground, and can lead the player where I want them to. In most cases a small outcave/etc or place where I can shoot them with fire where they can't dodge. But invading as a pure Sorcerer, is really hard sometimes (then again, I'm just not used to it :P ), as they do what I do, and lead me somewhere, usually open. And if I get to close, bam! slice, slice, slice, I'm dead from mainly warriors.

Since I'm now done with the sunbro cov, I may rejoin the Belfry covenant to do some invassions for extra souls and extras.

Btw the two different R
at
bosses were really really easy once I used my firestorm pyro. Damn, like 2 hits, done.

I'm hoping I get some OP mage tbh

You could, but the odds of someone getting hit by his one shot AoE, even when they are competent at the boss fight normally, is pretty high and you're left with a higher HP boss fight for yourself. I beat him in like 5 minutes with my sorcerer once I figured out what to do, but anyone else in that battle changing the boss pattern = dead ponpo.

then what's the other use? Being summoned in random places for no reason? I didn't even have the ring equipped.

Rat covenant is in two areas where they summon you to their world to kill you. You don't have to be part of anything, just be in one of those two areas. It isn't that bad since dieing has no ill effect on you there, while beating them gives you a Pharros' Lockstone,

Unfortunately, I use a Great Club, so I need to be in his face to kill him :(
You're just going to get some schmuck who dies in the first second and leaves you with a harder fight.

Probably, but it's worth a try or two. I've been trying for a while today.

I think 5 failed tries vs the Smelter Demon have convinced me to put this shit up on eBay. I'm done. I loved Demons, and DS1, that will just have to be enough.

This is what I've been doing, already at 60+ hours just cleaning up everything. All I have left is Darklurker...

I cleaning up stuff in Doors of pharros I just encountered Royal Rath Authority...cant believed I missed a whole boss in my entire run through.

Fortunately. Then again your damage seems to be halved with more people there and since most of us suck at it they may die right away anyway.

I still have A
ncient
D
ragon
but he's an asshole without rewards to justify the expense at this point. Maybe depending on how summoning rewards work though...

Really disappointed in the last miracle exchanged for
Old King's Soul, Binding Bolt.

It's just an electricity sphere that shoots forward and then shoots a bunch of small lightning rays. It has a lot of trouble even killing the three crossbow guys in sinner's rise :(

Considering this requires 66 faith, I feel cheated

You can skip this fight if you want. You'll just need to run through a bell tower instead though.

Anyone who hates S
melter
D
emon
and has a decent number of points in STR. Go to S
haded
W
oods
, beat S
corpion lady
and the next area (
Doors of Pharros)
has enemies who can drop a shield which will let you tank the boss completely. 100 fire and 100 physical resistance. That boss was wrecking me, after using this I got him first try.

I came close to snapping the disc in half. I think I'm done. I was also insulted that I had to fucking respec my character just to talk to the guy to trade boss souls for weapons. Thats just fucking dumb.

after the credits run, you appear in majula, before triggering NG+

Thanks! Guess I'll have to finish up the last few things I have. Although I'm not looking forward to traversing the Giant memories or fighting the Ancient Dragon. Hopefully Darklurker isn't too bad, I don't want it to suck up all of my Human Effigies.

I suck at this game but I love it. The lore from dark souls and demons souls is amazing. I beat the game once and I'm starting again. I think I'm over leveled might start a new character.

Probably, but it's worth a try or two. I've been trying for a while today.

When you walk in the fog, bait him to do that forward flame attack, then run towards his back legs and hug the inside of one of them and stand still. From here, 3 things happen:

1. He lifts up the leg you're against and will slam it down. If lifts his leg up, roll to the opposite back leg and attack and stand still afterwards hoping he does this again, as it's the easiest thing to avoid. He kept doing this for like 80% of my battle.

2. He lifts up his front part and sticks his head under his body and breathes fire towards his back legs. If he does his, just run to the outside of his back legs then back in once the attack is over and wait.

3. He flies up to do the AoE thing. Just move the camera around and find his tail shadow and run in that direction, and once it's over run back to his inside legs and wait.

wait, is that the same with any other boss? They're stronger or with more hp if you fight them with one-two phantoms?

Can faith builds have decent melee damage with the right scaling?

If you raise Str and Dex and the weapon scales properly, sure. Lighting scales with Faith so if you had a random weapon that had an A or S scaling in Str or Dex, raised said stat, 'infused' it as Lightning (and if you want, buff with Sunlight blade or something) then yes.

Edit: Oop double, sorry.

That same area

What the hell is the
pharros lockstone
supposed to do??
Saw my brother do it but are you given any indication to
light the windmill on fire?
Just seems like something you'd find out through random chance..

Same with every boss yeah.
that explains a lot.

oh, is someone selling repair powder without limits? I'm using a lot of them, not sure if it's the weapon that I'm using being shitty or what. the blacksteel katana+10 with 40 dex has a decent damage but I think I might need a better weapon for the end-game, or pvp.
also, asking again if someone is running some pyromancy build, is better pyromancy flame full upgraded or the dark one (still full upgraded) for a character with low int/faith?
