So guys what does that big rock do after the
spider boss
in Brightstone?

You can come back muuch later to access something, but it's near the end of the game and it's optional.

uhm, nice. I got killed from stunlock a couple of times already, didn't know that you could break it with those. which one is usually faster?

Well the guard break move works well if it hits them while their shield is up but it's pretty slow and can miss if they're moving enough I guess. Unlocking and swinging around works depending on your weapon.

Well, all bosses down. I only used maximum 5 effigies to get to and down first try D
arklurker
. Worst enemy in there is definitely
Havel
for me. I died 2 times on him.

Is there the Magic Shield sorcery ingame? I only found Strong Magic Shield and think it's odd there wouldn't be the lesser version too.

Now I'm debating what to do before NG+...I know I have one free boss weapon to claim, and I still have enemies who didn't give me some weapons/armors...I may need to also farm a bit of souls so I can buy titanite and upgrade my stuff, but I don't know if I'll stay like I am or change builds...also, I hope I haven't missed loot behind walls and such...
I really don't want to go to NG+ before being sure I have everything I could've got in one journey.

Ughh, I'm SL 102 and never getting summoned for the Bell Keepers now.

Where are you in regards to game progression?
There's another, higher leveled (80-100) Belfry where you can be summoned as well. It's in the Iron Keep.
Unless you know about this already and still aren't getting summoned, I'd just recommend NG+ at this point, since 100+ is pushing it for NG.

last night i got invaded about 6 times in Heide's Tower of Flame as i was making my way through ng+.

All Greatsword-wielding Lightning Spear-throwing idiots. There was one guy tossing spears and i was dodging them for fun. Then i started interrupting his casts with Great Heavy Soul arrow because my casting speed is about 300 lol.

There was one guy camping around the greatsword giant that has 2 other giants with him in that circular area. He wouldn't come to me, trying to bait me into engaging him and the enemies. I used my seed and they all turn on him. Was laughing as he realised what happened and tried to dodge the greatsword giant. He got 1hk LOL. Hatemail was delicious.

Cheers guys

I think PVP is broken for me

I can summon people and be summoned, but I haven't been invaded or summoned for my covenant

edit: I hate accidentally guard breaking when I'm trying to attack

Hehe, what did he write?

The L
ost
S
inner
is destroying me. He's too quick to let me heal, his lock on range is too short for me to run away and keep an eye on him while I heal, the window in which I can hit him is too short, his swipe is too wide and his attacks are too powerful & quick for my stamina to allow me to get close and try and get behind him.

And the camera has a fit when he jumps into the air, meaning I'm often unprepared when he comes back down.

Gonna take on
Huntsman's Copse
, upgrade my stamina and come back I think

you can light up the arena
use the pharos stone you found in the area on the location below the bonfire after the Lost Bastille boss fight

It opens a new area where you have to fight another boss after which you get the key to open all those locked doors you see in Sinner's Rise.

The said boss fight is quite hard though...

As for the L S fight itself

I tested a lot of weapons.

Turns out it's so much easier to get a hit with a club and more hits at that than a sword and spears are way too slow to hit him most of the times. Club does A LOT of damage too because of it's A rank scaling. Destroyed him with Club+Tower Shield.

Also I use lifestones for healing, way quicker to use than EF. You should generally save them for boss fights imo. Summoning NPC made the fight harder I think, he's more aggressive, but you can wreck him with the club when he's attacking the other guy.

That is probably one of the most annoying thing in the game hehe. Also if you use a shield and a Halberd or spear as well, sometimes it does that stabbing attack instead of a more powerful attack because the game thinks that you're still blocking with the shield (if you let go of the shield and attack all at the same time really fast).

Yeah, I know about it. If I get summoned at all that's usually where I get summoned to now. Guess I'll have to beat the game to max it out, ughh.

Funny you mention that...someone told you how to do it in a post above me, but I was magically able to get it the first time. I don't remember it having any value, but I might be wrong. One thing though, if you do get it, there's no way to collect your souls when you die since you have to jump off.

Or you can use a homeward bone or the
ancient feather
you should've just received.

What the hell is the deal with
Aldia's Keep
? I get to the door at the top of the stairs (the entrance) and the knight enemies spawn infinitely.

I'm too afraid to search for the bonfire just out the front due to not wanting to get stabbed to death while doing it.

I think you're talking about
Castle Drangleic
rather than the area you mentioned, right? You have to
kill the knight enemies near the big statues on either side of the door. The statues will absorb their souls (one enemy for each statue) and then activate.

Can I access the D
arklurker fight
from any of the portals? Reason being, I didn't encounter it until Shaded Ruins but would rather fight it at the castle to cut down on backtracking.

Yes you can, as long as you've
cleared each of the 3 portals once and lit the fires.
Some questions regarding the
Moonlight Greatsword and Lucatiel
trophies:

To get the Moonlight Greatsword trophy, which bosses do i have to summon Bernhart at? And to get the Lucatiel trophy, i have to summon her at The Lost Sinner, Smelter Demon, the boss at No Man's Wharf and The Rotten? And both NPCs has to survive all battles?

They have to survive
3 out of 4
of them, but you can also respawn the bosses using a bonfire ascetic (be careful with this, though, as the difficulty increase carries over to NG+).

So what's the word on Adaptability? I have it at 25 right now and I notice a difference in popping flasks/lifegems/slight improvement in rolling & raising my shield. Should I: a) Keep it at 25, b) Keep leveling it, or c) use a S
oul
V
essel
and
keep it at a certain number?

Hehe, what did he write?

the usual crap about having no skill littered with various homophobic slurs. I'd be mad too if i had to wait 30 seconds to load into the game, 5 more minutes in the host's world only to be smashed by a mob, then another 30 seconds loading back into my own world LOL.

Also, FUUUUCK Lost Sinner on NG++ difficulty. That was an unexpected turn of events.

Question about V
endrick
in NG+. Do
I need another 5 Giant Souls to hit him or can I use the ones I have leftover from my playthrough?

Damn, used that
Pharros Lockstone
on the contraption with the statues in it. All I got was a
Soul Vessel as well
:(

I've had him down to like 45% health once, so I'm sure I can do it. Might have to equip 2 shields though, he nearly broke one of mine once :D

Ugh, how do I read the melee weapon attack stat page again?

I have two swords: Broadsword+5 and some other sword +3.

The broadsword does 180 physical damage. The other sword 150 or so. I can upgrade them both with a large titanite shard. The broadsword would go to 192. The other sword 162. The thing is, the other sword has 80 bleeding attack.

Which sword does more damage and which sword is best to upgrade?

I've been using this broadsword for basically the entire game. Just beat
the poison valley.

Also, question 2: is the ONLY WAY to get the antiquated key to beat the Pursuer in the Giants area? I don't even know where he is anymore. He's not on his little platform. So I don't know how to really explore more of the
Lost Bastille

I don't know how the damage formula works with status effects, but generally I'd go with the weapon that has the higher raw physical damage, in this case the Broadsword.

Also you get the key from near the Tower Apart bonfire in Lost Bastille according to the wiki. I don't remember how I got it myself, but I suppose that's right.

No.
Six gargoyles.

PicardWTF.jpg

Tips please? I melee only... Slowly starting FTH

toY2Kev:

It's hard to say which one does more damage. The sword with the bleeding will do a huge bonus damage once enough bleed damage accumulates on the enemy, but the bonus depends on the enemy total HP, so you can't compare.

Then again, the bleeding bonus seems pretty small, so that means a few whacks of it before the bleeding kicks in. Also, if you are trying to beat a boss, long time may go between hits and the bleed build up may disappear between them.

I'd go with the non-bleeding sword for now.

So if I'm reading correctly it's easier to do the
Throne of Want
before you collect all the
giant souls
that way you wont have to fight the
final boss
immediately afterwards?

PicardWTF.jpg

Tips please?

Lightning weapons, though club works well too
Crowd control, I recommend tower shield or any good great shield
Look out for when to heal, this is the tricky part...

gotta kill one quick before 3rd one comes in or at least take most of its hp

Don't get careless when you kill one, that health bar you see is for ALL of them, more come in.

So I'm doing some backtracking and I remember there being item in Forest of Fallen Giants that I could never get before. It's on the awning above where the F
ire
L
ongsword
cave is. How do you get there?

Damn, used that
Pharros Lockstone
on the contraption with the statues in it. All I got was a

:(

there is another in
Huntsman's Copse below the bridge on a broken pillar, very easy to spot where but a bit tricky to land right. Prepare to fall.

They start out at 2. One additional gargoyle will spawn each time one of them gets to 50% health, so you want focus on one of them at a time.

This is insane. I can't do it alone and
I can't summon phantoms because I keep getting gangbang'd by invaders!
:(:(:(

Neither of those fights is in any way difficult. Did them both, back to back, on my first try. Totally blind, wasn't even sure I was at the end.

Man every thread about Dark Souls 2 that is not this OT is none stop people shitting on this game even though most not played it geez.

Anyway has online stabilised a bit wanted do some sunbroing to get 8 more medals to get that faith spell.

Where are you as far as game progression? You can't get that until much later in the game.

So I quit the game properly last time I played but this morning I start it up and said I quit the game improperly. Also I'm pretty sure I was in human form but now I'm hollow? This is all in Majula too. Very strange.

Man I do not enjoy the uchi in this game at all, I thought it would finally be a replacement to my falchion, but it's so slow. My falchion + stone ring is a poise breaking monster, uchi has not been nearly as successful vs. poise.

I never played a dark souls or a Demon Souls.

What is the difference between those games ? Why is dark souls considered the better game ?

Dark Souls is not considered better. They're about equal in reputation.

The difference are generally minor. Just two games in a series.

Has anyone else found the secret area in S
inner's Rise?

After you go down the elevator, get into the water and go right; press X on the wall to uncover an opening into the sea.

All there is is some treasure, but it seems like it should be a shortcut. All the bloodstains suggest the walking level ends abruptly and that there is no way to follow further.

I've killed the L

R

but that doesn't seem to be it.

There's a lot of minor differences, but one massive, king making difference. The connected world of Dark puts it heads and shoulders above Demon.

Dark 2 also shows that it is not enough to just have your areas connected; there has to be some good design to it. The vertical stacking of Dark 1 areas is clearly superior to Dark 2 loosely connected-ness, that is supposed to represent a 2D map.

Hehe, i would be too. Kinda funny how he talks about skills if he also tried to lure you into fighting the enemies.

Is LS much harder on NG++ than NG+?

For anyone having problems with the belfy boss just skip it for a bit and come back later. In my fist weapon only no shield run Im doing I skiped them all together cuz I didn't care about them. Was about to log off and decided to go do it on a whim. I have 2 +10 cestus and I put on some gold pine resin. Killed every one after dodging the first hit and L1'ing them into oblivion while the next one was spawning.

First playthrough I did it much eariler ( Lvl 60ish) and I was just patient looking for openings.

For that boss I honestly think the best strategy is to take off all your armor so that you are <30% weight and then just dodge every attack, always roll toward him as you dodge the final swing of one of his combos. Trying to block only seemed to lead to frustration for me.

After a few goes you should have the timing down. Just don't get greedy, wait for openings, get one or two strikes in, then get out.

No, it'll be much later. That one drove me crazy too.

Prowling Magus/Congregation in Brightstone (easiest one for him), Looking Glass Knight, Old Giant Lord in the memory, and Throne Watcher/Defender + Nashandra (must all be done at once with him surviving all the way through).
Good luck!
