Unfortunately this is the best post. Nintendo is way too unpredictable to even guess.
I can only hope they have some western-themed game that finally makes us understand the controller as well as finally having Xbox and Playstation die-hards look up ( ridiculously hoping for a reastic Metroid online FPS with vehicles akin to Battlefield ). Haha why do I even do this to myself ...
Metroid online fps with vehicles sounds awful and would probably destroy the franchise for me. Metroid was NEVER an FPS in the vein of stuff like COD and Battlefield. It was always way more about exploration and atmosphere than shooting shitUnfortunately this is the best post. Nintendo is way too unpredictable to even guess.

Man, I just realized E3 2012 might be their last E3 press conference (at least for a while).
That's kind of depressing.

Why and how? EVERY SITE THAT WOULD SHOW A CONFERENCE SHOWED THE DIRECT. EVERY GODDAMN ONE. As far as the average viewer is concerned the only difference is the stream's source. I guess one could blame the stream's problems on the fact that there was only one source (and thus it got overloaded and had tons of lag), but even that doesn't make a huge difference in the long run since most people really aren't watching the conferences live anyways

The people who watch e3 on tv are going to be familiar with internet stuff anyways. E3 period has always been something that's not followed by the non hardcore anyways. And not many places even air e3 on tv. And even then, I remember them talking about Nintendo's stuff last year even without a conferenceNintendo Direct is OK for internet-familiar audience, but an E-3 conference will be broadcasted on TV channels too, appear on the news on the technolgy section, etc.
Honestly, I don't really care about that. The only reason I want to see nintendo on the Kodak Theater is nostalgia.
The same thing they do every year... Try to take over the world.
This might be true, but that just highlights that the gaming media and gamers didn't care much about Nintendo in the first placeWow calm down, I think they didn't get as much exposure as the others, but that's my opinion.
Wii U: Bayonetta 2, Monolith Soft X, Hyrule Warriors, Super Smash Brothers 4, Animal Crossing U, Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem, Yarn Yoshi, The Legend of Zelda for Wii U
Nintendo 3DS: Pokemon Z, Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate, The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask 3D
They may also talk a bit about their QOL direction/product(s).
Disappointment.
They ended their E3 career so far with Nintendo Land fireworks.
Think about that
. No TP reveal, or pulling consoles out of jackets, or giving people wanted and needed reboots, etc., but just fireworks from Nintendo Land
I still don't get how the Nintendo direct they did last year was all that different to what other companies do (Aside from the shitty stream, but that was more the service and the numbers watching than anything). I don't think it was even at a different time. The only major difference is that there wasn't a physical conference room and we got to see it without using press sites as intermediates.

You will see Mario, Zelda and Metroid in some form. Something Pokemony.
You will still not see SMT x FE.

the casual audience that isn't buying the Wii U is the one that they would reach with E3.
i realized that when i heard some casual fans that thought Nintendo had cancelled their E3 press conference because they weren't making games anymore. i told them about how they still announced stuff with the Directs but they looked at me like i was talking in another language.
only the really hardcore audience is aware of the Directs and those were going to buy the console anyway even with the bad sales. Directs were fine as a complement but they should have never replaced their E3 conference. the damage from not having a show at E3 2013 was worse than the benefit all the Nintendo directs did last year combined.
The casual audience doesn't watch press conferences anyways. If they were really unaware, then I doubt they were following e3 closely anyways because literally every source for following e3 talked about Nintendo's showing. And people aren't going to watch a press conference just because its there. If they aren't buying a wii u and aren't at least interested in it, chances are people will just skip Nintendo's press conference regardless of how its held. Even among gamers I really don't think most watch the press conferences when they don't own the console in question unless stuff like a console launch is known or expected to be talked aboutthe casual audience that isn't buying the Wii U is the one that they would reach with E3.

WiiU MMORPG, it is time Nintendo.
Does the Wii U have a consistent online player-base to support even a small-scale MMO? I really don't think so. Would be madness.

QoL probably won't be until late this year, as they aren't launching anything until 2016.
Isn't the QoL stuff supposed to be different to their gaming stuff? That'd be like Sony rocking up to E3 and showing off TVs.
a new IP would be better than being shackled to a old and beaten-up IP that doesn't sell.

WiiU Pokemon MMORPG, it is time Nintendo.
Gamepadless WiiU for 199$, easy to learn lesson from MS with Kinect.
Yeah well, adapt or die.
Doesn't need to be entirely an MMO, you can have a big single player aspect to it. Think of how they were willing to let a third party make Hyrule Warriors. I think a game like this would have insane appeal and not necessarily for those who currently own the WiiU.Does the Wii U have a consistent online player-base to support even a small-scale MMO? So basically you want pokemon x/y on wii u. Because other than not literally having your map crowded with random people, it pretty much functioned as one once you turned online onDoesn't need to be entirely an MMO, you can have a big single player aspect to it. That game would have to be entirely designed around it, like the first Pokemon game was designed around the Game Boy limitations (link cable). Even without that aspect I think that moving the franchise from a portable to the WiiU would shake things up a little. So basically you want pokemon x/y on wii u. I still don't see how the experience would be that different to x and y, except better chat options with strangers I guessThat game would have to be entirely designed around it, like the first Pokemon game was designed around the Game Boy limitations (link cable)..
