Wait which part did you guys miss??

You can get to Heide's Tower of Flame from Majula. There's a
Staircase that leads to some ankle high water and a closed door/wall, but you can pull a ring on the wall to get past
. Totally missed it as well on my first playthrough and didn't do that area until much later. It's a common mistake.

As of today, I'm:

30 hours, level 91, 42ish Strength Knight who has just beaten
That man-monster boss with the fire @ The Gulch...second great soul?
. Running Dragonrider Shield, 6 +2 Estus', and a +5/6 flame sword I got from that lizard den in the giant forest.

How overleveled am I?

The reason I'm asking is that I feel like I keep getting stronger but the bosses don't. I'm guessing I'm gonna have to eat my words real soon, but that's how I feel as of this second.

On NG++ some of the chests contain different items, I didn't notice anything different items on NG+ though

Really cool they're switching up NG+ this time around. I still haven't been into NG+ yet, doing cleanup on my first playthrough and started a couple of other characters.

Do you know if the chests have different items/respawn if you use 2 bonfire ascetics?

Is it even feasible to make it to the undead
crypt
boss? every time I try I get ganged up on by the mages and knights. its literally impossible.

Is it advisable to make my character a super tank? Heavy armor, heavy shield, big heavy sword and not worry about rolling at all? Just pump up VGR, VIT, STR, and END? Just focus on dealing out big hits and taking damage.

Completed the game like this. It's fun but there is one area that is extremely frustrating with this build. Maybe invest some stats into a bow if you can to ease the pain.

Yeah, just go on one of the sides and run past everything :P Once you get near the end, let the knights notice you for a second or two to create an opening, then dash to the fog door. The two knights right in front of it may hit you, but they never staggered me except for once, and they normally don't do much damage till you're through the door.

Not sure, I haven't used any bonfire ascetics yet. I would guess that the chests respawn but they'll probably have the same items in them, unless there's more different items in further playthroughs

I think your poise stat will effect whether you can make it through the fog without them staggering you. 0 poise and they'll stagger you in 1 hit, making it tough to get through without getting space, 40 or so poise and you can take around 2 hits, making it easier to get through

Aldia's Keep:
Why would I want to use a branch of yore on the frozen Hippo Troll in the mansion entrance under the dragon skeleton?

I didn't understand this either. It doesn't really save any travel time removing him.

Illusionary walls. Is it true that you have to press A to walk through? I keep seeing messages but always tried hitting them. Won't get to test the theory until tonight.

Re: Aldia's Keep Key:
It is in the corrosive pool down the stairs. Take off everything and you can pick it up safely. It's not all that useful though. Just opens different doors into the same side rooms.

I played a melee-focused STR/DEX build, but I found the Dragonrider Bow to be pretty awesome. It did some decent damage at +5.

yeah, well both. there are some walls that need to be hit (usually the ones revealed by pharros' lockstone) and most of them you just hit A (or X or circle if you're japanese).

I think, even if there's a message, it'll open. there was a message right next to a wall and nothing happened. went offline to make the message disappear and still nothing happened. so, be vary of bullshit messages!
