Can we discuss this?

lol

I actually find it really interesting that both of these movies will feature very different versions of the same character and we'll be hearing a lot about them over the next few months.

Is anyone really surprised that he was going to look good/better in Marvel's film? It helps that Aaron is hot as hell.

Why didn't you make the title "Avengers Quicksilver vs X-men Quicksilver"?

Anyway Marvels is a million times better.

They both looks stupid in those shots

The interesting thing is one of them is a properly lit and photographed promotional picture on the COVER of a magazine, and the other is a completely out of context, telephoto spy pic of a dude standing around in costume. And the latter still looks obviously better.

I vote we stop going "OMG THEY GOT IT SO WRONG" and instead realize Quicksilver is just a douchey idiot who has always looked dumb.

One looks like a total tool from the 70's, the other looks like a total tool in 2014.

Guess the Avengers one was going for this version.

I can see his "real" Avengers suit being a lot like that, if they get a chance to suit up in the movie. For whatever scene they are shooting right now it appears both Pietro and Wanda have their street clothes.

Does he have a big role in DOFP or did Fox pretty much just stick him in there to pre-empt Whedon?

They're both pretty bad. For now I'm going to say the X-Men one is slightly better. Maybe Avengers Quicksilver will pull ahead and be slightly less shitty when we see some actual footage.

Both Quicksilvers make me want to cry.

But then again, I don't think he ever looked that cool to begin with.

MAYBE Ultimate
incestial
Quicksilver.

If anything, I do like what they did with Grunge Witch.

So... can someone explain to me why we can have two different companies have the rights to the same character (Quicksilver), but we can't do the same for Spiderman or Wolverine? Not having another studio make a Spiderman movie, but having them in future Avenger movies.

Superheros in comics look completely silly most of the time and we should be thanking our lucky stars that costume designers are doing as well as they are in these movies.

With that said... I'm not sure what Singer was thinking approving that nonsense.

Quicksilver is both a mutant (which means he's covered under Fox's deal) and an Avenger (which places him under Marvel Studios' remit). He also had not been used before either of these movies, whereas Spider-Man and Wolverine were in several films before Marvel Studios got in the game.

Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch were Avengers years before they were revealed as Magneto's children.

They are X Men but also were in the original lineup of Avengers. It's dumb I know. I guess Spidey doesnt count as its very recent he was part of the team. Post-movie rights even?

It's because Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch are considered, by Marvel and Fox, to be major characters to both the X-Men and Avengers properties. They are Magneto's children, but they are also core, early members of the Avengers team from the early days. Their lawyers were able to work out an agreement where they could both be used, but Marvel can't refer to them as mutants or mention anything related to X-Men.

Wolverine and Spider-Man were never core members of the Avengers team, certainly not founding members, and even then have been more associated with the New Avengers team post Civil War rather than with the regular ass Avengers, at least until recently.

I kind of hope Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver don't get any further costumes, I like their outfits the way they are.

DOFP Quicksilver though, lol.

So this is the version of Quicksilver people have been hyping ever since the first pics of DOFP Quicksilver were released?

lol both look silly and ridiculous.
