Well, If John Harker is to be believed(and his tag is certainly a good point to start), then we should expect a Direct this year too...
edit:Last year, when did Nintendo firstly reveal their E3 plans?
If nothing else, we will know after E3 whether Nintendo plans to try one more time with the Wii U, or give up on it entirely.
That is an excellent point. For how long have we been hearing about this expansion procedure?A year, maybe more..The thing is that we haven't yet seen something concrete coming out of this expansion. At least, some b-tier games, could have come out, in order to fill up this horrendous lineup or its lack of..
On stage presentation.
Zelda U
Smash 4 newcomers (including Pac-Man)
X full reveal, story trailer, title etc
NFC stuff
Animal Crossing U
Majora's Mask 3D
Metroid 3DS sidescroller
LOL what?
Do you seriously believe that? That's not the case at all.
Because a game, especially a Nintendo one with the care and polish they put into it, takes over a year to develop.
they won't even go.

Why must you do this to yourself?
Nintendo doesn't love you that much.
Last chance for WiiU.
There has to be a great press conference.
I've no idea...but then I'm not stating as a fact that the E3 Direct got more or less viewers than the press conference usually does.
If people are claiming it as fact it had less viewers......then people should back that up with figures....rather that just making things up to suit whatever they believe.
What I do know is a pre-recorded Nintendo Direct was available in multiple languages at the same time.....meaning it had a larger potential live audience worldwide that could instantly view and understand it.
Yea their booths were awesome!
I thought their whole road apperances were done well in 2013.
I really don't think them doing a Nintendo Direct instead of a conference is that big of a deal.
I mean, I've been to over 10 of these E3 jams. I thought leading up to E3 last year it sounded bad they weren't doing one, but at the end of the day - they probably get more coverage with an ND anyway. And they launched the playable demos and kicked off the best buy kiosk program immediately after, I'd argue that was a more impactful deal than just having closed demos at their booth.
That said, I dunno if they are doing a press conference or not this year...
I just know where they aren't doing one.
Last chance for WiiU.
Do you have "insider info" on the subject ?.
Did John ever actually said anything that turned out to be true? I can't recall.
Is E3 the place to announce a price cut?
I think they might drop it by $50 around the time Mario Kart 8 launches, so a bit before E3. If not then, around the holiday season with Smash Bros.
Sit in a corner and cry. There will be no hype train this year and you know it.![]()

Pretty much everything. John is credible.Did John ever actually said anything that turned out to be true? I can't recall.

Likely a Direct. They have nothing that will stand up to the VR madness of this years E3.
This gen is lost they need to release their new platform ASAP, likely next year. It needs to be more powerful than PS4 even if slightly, ready to go with VR, and maybe a QOL thing or two to differentiate. WiiU is dead, don't waste energy trying to revive it.

Clickable sticks, etc...
Probably flake out like they're doing with PAX.
I could somewhat rationalize E3's lack of press conference last year due to the PS4 XBone hype, but they desperately need a presser this year. Even if its all QOL info, just let the masses know you are still a relevant player in the industry. At the very least, a keynote accomplishes that.

I don't think they'll talk about QoL at all, because it appears to not be a gaming platform at all and E3 would therefore be the wrong venue.

I wouldn't be surprised if Iwata used the QoL thing and the Wii U failure to "get rid" of the old guard - including Miyamoto (and Takeda).I'd hope so, but they also said Miyamoto is producing flagship ,,software'' for QOL right now, so...
"That's only a fantasy."Announce European date for SMT IV

I think they might tease or even announce their future platform, starting with the handheld. They might sell it as another "3rd pillar", considering I don't expect any backwards compatibility.
If they do a Direct, at least don't do it with just Iwata in front of a white wall, like last time.
Make it special. And watchable, for God's sake.
I wouldn't care about that as long as it's WATCHABLE. They need to find a streaming service that can handle their Nintendo Directs, let alone a potential E3 Direct. The amount of people tuning in live once they start is just so big that it literally breaks the stream. I have very fast internet, but I've had huge problems watching the last few NDs, with many people experiencing the same problems in the chats.
Maybe, maybe not. I think people have a very wrong idea of what's going on at Nintendo. They will though. Nintendo USA has no voice here to just go out and announce thing in a non-gaming atmosphere. Seeing as Nintendo is seeing the 'deep blue American workout ocean", they'll most certainly use E3 as a medium to market it.
They'll show off a fitness app that vaguely represents a game, tell they're consumers they're listening to consumer's wants and call it quits there. And Nintendo will be ridiculed for it.
