This is probably the only cool part I saw.

I was bored the entire trailer until I saw this. They're actually doing the Ultimate X-Men scene, so hyped.

On the plus side, the movie looks like it will have LOADS of Magneto using his powers.

Looked good for the most part.

But I am still worried. We are dealing with the absolute best story arc in X-Men history here. Don't fuck it up, Singer.

Disney just needs to buyout fox and Sony

Sony is more likely, they are hemorrhaging cash like nobodies business.

And they announced a ton of budget cuts, and layoffs in their movie department for May I think. They are basically putting everything into their Spider-Man movies, which is why they are going to start releasing one every year like Fox and Marvel do with their movies.

So I don't see a buyout happening. It's a shame that this is what it has come to though.

I don't get how people who are such huge fans of the Marvel Studios films seem to harbour this resentment for the X-Men films.

Why not both, guys? X-Men, X2, First Class, and The Wolverine are all really great flicks.

X2 was really great, X-men was not great in any way. This trailer looks better than Xmen, FC, Origins and X3 though. ICEMAN y'all. I think i even saw some teamwork in that trailer.

X1 isn't even close. That movie looks cheap as shit, and Singers vision for the movie and the plot were shit , next time hold the shit Singer, Magneto's plan was horrible . They were clearly constrained budget wise I'll admit that, but that doesnt explain the choices they made on the story and characterizations. They shouldve picked better locales and situations to put the characters in basically.

The costumes are horrible throughout the series, with stunning wtf's such as Nightcrawlers technicolor pants, wolverines ability to only find wife beaters bomber jackets and timberlands, Havoc, and the fairy girl that ...belched fireballs..oh Christ why, and Beast has always looked like shit whether it was muppets blue Fraiser version or left over Wolfman props painted "sky powder" blue beast, all shit...in tight black leather...

X2 was good like you say but the rest of them were shit to smedium shit. Please fox more xmen but take it easy on the shit and the response would make it the most popular comic book movie property on earth.

Its telling when people rush to defend those shit films with bashing or trying to bring down another studio. Just goes to show everyone has their bias's and preferences even if most of the X films have been shit in tight leather. Xmen film fans must not understand...X Men is THE book of the past 35 years....its supposed to be the best movie the standard is really high for X Men, if it met that standard it would be one of the highest grossing movies of all time. I cant say that the xmen movies have had their "The Dark Knight" or even Spiderman 2 level film yet , X2 was close but still not on the level of Begins, TDK, or Avengers . However, it could be and it SHOULD . I dont know if xmen are the property they were 10 years ago, the avengers have really re emerged in the past 10 years then they pulled off a good show and a great movie. Batman is always near the top as is Spiderman so we'll see.

What is Marvel's approach? They are putting out movies every year as well. It's just that if they had the Spiderman and Xmen brands, those movies would be Spiderman and XMen movies instead of Thor and GotG movies. Fox and Sony have made both good and bad Spiderman and XMen movies just like Marvel has made both good and bad movies.

well for one they can branch out their IPs unlike Fox and Sony who intend to run their properties to the ground until they no longer make money. See Ghost Rider for reference.

I would put X2 up there with TDK and SM2, although I'd put it behind the two.

Lmao! I agree, the films visually are uninteresting. There are some cool effects here and there though, but every time they were given some creative liberty they went with some boring shit lol.

Well, to be fair, the Ghost Rider movies were pure shit and never had a chance.

The only reason I'd want Marvel to have the Spider-Man license, or the X-Men one is for crossovers. Not because I think they can top the best from those studios.

IM, The Avengers, and (I'm assuming Cap 2) are the only things that can kinda match up. I enjoyed IM3 a lot though, but I don't think I can put it on top. Very fun movie though.

Everything about this movie looks & sounds terrible just like every other Singer superhero movie but I hope it does well enough for Fox to keep the license forever just to keep wolverine whoring out of my Marvel movie universe.

I absolutely love days of future past arc in the cartoon, it is sad to see Singer shitting my memories of the wonderful 90s cartoon.

I still can't believe they haven't done a poster based off the comic's cover. I mean, it's right there! You don't have to DO anything! Just paste the actor's faces into those wanted signs.

I get what you're saying, but I think the main difference is that Marvel makes the movies it does because it wants to, whereas Fox and Sony are more driven by "have to." Not that they don't want to capitalize on their own billion-dollar tentpoles, but for those studios there's always a ticking clock, whereas Marvel can branch out a little more and toss in a bunch of new, underutilized properties along with their sequels.

I'm actually fine with Fox holding onto X-Men and Sony holding onto Spider-Man myself though. I think those two would significantly crowd Marvel's plate, and not having to do an X-Men or Spider-Man movie frees them up for shit like Ant-Man and Dr. Strange.

While I think that absolutely applies to Spider-Man, and to a lesser extent FF, the X-Men property actually does encompass a pretty damn wide range of characters, teams, and concepts. It's just Fox's fault that they haven't been willing or able to do a film centered around characters other than Wolverine, Xavier, and Magneto.

Maybe this will change with Apocalypse, or their mystery 2018 Marvel film (X-Force?), but I'm not betting on it.

Fans beat them to it like eight years ago...

Best comic book film of the year. I'm glad they gave us an actual trailer now instead of that last one that felt like a youtube fan trailer

I finna mark out when both Xaviers share a scene together

First class Jennifer Lawrence was awful though, I hope she steps it up

I'm secretly a sucker for all these movies. anything with a superhero in it and a budget.

this looks great though.

Making wayyyyy too much sense right now, man.

Where's all the Gaffers who bitched and moaned about the costumes for 4 months now? Trailer was hype, looks so good.
