Going through the
Shrine of Amana
with a greatbow is kind of profoundly satisfying.

I like to push the trigger to fire with my middle finger to really make my feelings clear.

Doesn't even do that.

It does, it just does so poorly. Wear full havels and you can take a single Katana hit (lol) so it's not doing anything unless your poise is extremely high. If someone is 2h ultra greatswording you though, I don't even know if you can get poise high enough to take a hit.

Just circle around until they attack and than backstab when directly behind them.

As for poise, it's currently completely broken and pointless.

Even with 140+ poise I was getting stun locked by small sword R1s...

For mobs though, they usually need larger weapons. I'm pretty sure the "poise" damage is stated on the weapons stat sheet. Left side, 3rd from bottom.

Good to know. Man, this part pissed me off, I just spent the last half hour trying to kill all the enemies just so I could get to the boss door...and now that I finally cleared the area I have 40k+ souls and am not sure if I want to challenge the boss or not. Sigh. Souls world problems I guess.

Also, I got a pretty neat drop from one of the enemies on accident. A sword called the
Blue Flame, which is a magic sword that's okay on scaling but lets you cast spells as its strong attack. Since I'm a dual-wielding battlemage I might actually be able to get some use out of this.
If I have extra titanite lying around I may level it up just to see what its final stats are and whether I can actually use it in practice.

Beat the waterfall boss in Huntsman Corpse. Probably my favorite area so far, and favorite boss.

Still gotta kill the guy across the bridge/

I hear people constantly saying halberds are good. They're lieing, the BKH is a piece of shit.

You can get it really early and it's considerably powerful THEN.
But it's way too heavy, and the moveset is awkward. Also enemies need to be at optimum range for you to do max damage because the blade is at its tip.
It was pretty good in DS1 though.

These points make all halberds garbage. I jokingly used Helix Halberd for like 2 hours because I liked the look but no thanks.

Santier's Spear gets a pass.

Speaking of moveset changes I really miss some of the old movesets from DS1. I hate the rapier's R2 to parry and I miss the 2 hit running attack in DS1.
Also the great scythe's new moveset is a little odd.

Is there any reason to beat the royal rat authority? I've heard it was an optional fight. I don't even want to fight this bastard because the very mechanics of the game are cheating me. My guy can't even hit the rats because he fucking swings right over their head.

Great design choice there guys.

I think a lot of the movesets are weird, yeah. The vertical slashes that swords have seem strange.

Blueblood please ; _ ;

What weapon are you using?

In NG+ now and already up to Iron Keep. Not a single invasion or anything yet...maybe I'm cursed. And I know for a fact my Sin was through the roof because I checked at that NPC. Cross-region is set to allowed and everything. Waahh

It seems I need the
Ashen Mist Heart
to beat the game right? You can only get it from the
Ancient Dragon
right? Well I already aggroed him. Will a Bonfire Aesthetic unaggro him?

Two different Katanas and a Falchion. I can snipe two of them before I'm swarmed by the other two, and I'm instantly toxic. I guess the boss doesn't take much to kill (almost beat him in under a minute the first time), but I can't stay alive for more than thirty seconds after that first attempt. I'm hitting the guys, it's just the broke ass hit detection. Always had problems with Lizards and Dogs too.

Yup. Same here. Idk what it is about the smaller four legged enemies. I have trouble, too.

On my 3rd build now. INT/DEX, and maybe some FTH later on. Co-oping with magic made me realize how many people didn't pick up Great Soul Arrow in Cardinal Tower area. Doing 90-100+ dmg, and all other mages are doing 30-60 against bosses. xD

Not sure, but using a bonfire aesthetic might make the area much more difficult than it already is. Might be comparatively easier to beat the boss.

A bit late I guess but
as you go into that hallway, there is an enemy under the stairs that rings a bell that spawns the blue cloak guys. Kill him and it's just the golden knights.

Been working on this boss for like a week now really wish
I talked to him instead of hitting him
. This might be the last stop for me in this game. It's not even close to fun anymore

I don't see how. I tried to spin once and it drains my stamina to nothing and I get wrecked instantly afterwards.

Been spinning and winning before only afro made it "cool".

You need enough stamina so you don't lose it all completely from a single spin. You can usually guard break players turtling behind small shields for easy wins or get 3 good hits on players who are bad at rolling or trying to chug estus.

Counter is easy too, just roll through and get a free backstab.

Kinda late at joining this thread but any who. Been playing for the last 4 days and Ive had an easy time with the game. Till a little while ago anyways lol.
Just made it to the gutter and the amount of poison here is insane.
Any tips on getting through here guys?

Have you tried
absolving your sins with Cromwell to see if that gets him to chill out and talk to you? That's how you get regular NPCs you've aggroed to bury the hatchet, but I have no idea if it works with him.

So, what's the verdict on ADP? I seem to be doing okay without it.
It's next to worthless is my verdict. My character is a VIG / END / VIT / ADP build that uses raw weapons, medium shields, and maintains an equip load under 30%. If I had dumped those ADP points into STR I would be one-hitting shit with a +10 great club while hiding behind an 80% stability shield. Instead fights go like this: run in, hit once, roll back, run in, hit once, roll back, etc. ADP is without a doubt the shittiest stat in the game.

you can snipe all of them before they reach you. i just did the fight earlier.

Most happening covenant for PvP activity, y'all?

Dragon bros in iron keep is gud at higher soul levels.

If you like more organised duels go with blue sentinals.

stomping shit tier pvp kids brothers of blood duels.

While having a very slow and almost worthless roll.

hiding behind a shield will only get you so far...

getting your agility up to 110 makes rolling god tier and also increases attack speed of all weapons and almost all actions. ADP should not be ignored.

I talked to that guy
Nalvaan
or whatever his name is and now he constantly invades me. How to make him stop? And will this invading continue into NG+?

You know, that's what I'm thinking. I'm only pumping VIG, END, VIT, and STR and I haven't noticed anything by adding ADP points at the same time. Probably will respec those points into health or stamina. I'm still taking out bosses just fine.

And really dumb question, but I'm in the process of moving and my Xbox isn't here at the moment so I can't test for myself, but when it comes to equip load, and rolls, etc, do I want it below or above 70?

What's up with the
women that disappear when you try and talk to them
? Found one in
Shrine of Amana
and one behind a locked door in
Dragleic Castle
.

Completed Shrine of Amana. It wasn't so bad. Only died twice and the boss was easy (really ugly though). One of the easiest areas, imo.

Is it worth it to get the golem's torches lit in the room next to the first bonfire in D
rangleic
C
astle
? I accidentally freed all the Ruin Sentinals, so now this place is a special kind of hell. I did manage to kill one near one of the golems, but I'm having trouble getting the other torch lit. What will it do?

So I pulled it of and I got... nothing! At least as far as I can tell... Both of the golems are holding their torches to the ceiling, but that's about it. My only guess is that the flames touching the ceiling of the basement may have an effect on the room directly above, but I've barely explored the castle so I probably won't even know what's changed when I see it.

Does anyone know if you get awestones from this one if you're in the Covenant of Champions? I really want the second rank award.
