The goggles literally do nothing.

It's totally possible that Marvel won't let them use it.

That would be such a dick move. These movies doing well helps the comics and the brand in general, and like others have said that is the greatest comic book cover ever. It would make an awesome movie poster.

I'm not exactly a comic expert. How can she do that? Isn't her power to phase through objects?

That's not from the comic. There, Rachel Summers (a telepath) sent Kitty's mind back in time to her younger body. I had been assuming Xavier was going to do that for Logan in the movie.

Singer gonna Singer.

Professor X on the poster looks like he's hovering in the air via the power of his own farts:

Lol. Looks like Xavier has that look of "those damn kids are on my lawn again. Martha! Call the cops! We got weirdos on the lawn again!"

That is such a bad poster.

Is Quicksilver Magneto's son in this movie, or is this yet another "fuck timeline, let's just use a mutant people know" moment?

Not known yet. Fassbender made a joke that Quicksilver has good genes in an interview or something and some people are taking that as he will be his son in the movie. I'm guessing they'll just hint at it but not directly state it.

Looks alright. I wonder if they will take the opportunity to retcon the events of the third movie while they're retconning everything else. Might as well bring back toad for kicks too.

Do you know what happens to a toad when it gets struck by retcon?

This looks so terrible. This is what comic book readers seem to be unable to understand, the majority of this kind of stuff will not translate to film without looking like a complete joke. Outside of Quicksilver, everyone else looks great, the scope looks pretty epic.

Take Gipsy Danger. Paint it purple. Change the head to look more like that. Why would that not work?

The model they are using looks terrible. It looks like a fucking transforming Dyson.

Pretty bad comparison, and these X-Men movies have gone for a more gritty atmosphere then say an Avengers. If everyone was wearing their yellow costumes, a giant ridiculous purple robot wouldn't look so out of place.

That's the 70's model, it looks fitting for the time period. The future one looks great, and looks like a legitimate threat.

What comic book readers understand is that everything about comic books (mainstream Marvel/DC Super Hero ones) is inherently dumb and ridiculous and the best way to enjoy them is to revel in the madness. Everyone understood this until the 80/90s when comic books started taking themselves so seriously.

Take Wolverine's yellow costume for example. That costume is objectively ridiculous looking. There's not any kind of magic that makes that costume look good on a comic book page as opposed to live action. The only difference is that 70s Marvel comics embraced their wackiness while the movies try to ground it in faux-realism.

I get that. It works on the page, but in most cases, it doesn't cross over to film very well. Avengers did it well, but the X-Men series chose a different direction to take it, so the constant bitching about how it's not 100% faithful to the comic books is really redundant. The trailer looks great, and looks like it will be a really entertaining super hero movie.

I wasn't expecting much but wow that trailer. Looks amazing.

I hope whenever they make a live action movie about Iron Man they adapt the armor properly. Something like this would be perfect:

Yes..

yeah this is all cherrypicking (both sides of the argument).

it's not one hundred. some things will work other's wont. wolverine mask would be wack as hell in this universe. yeah i've seen the prop pictures a million times now. but put that on hugh jackman's face and audiences would run away.

dat jawline tho. henry cavill is descended from the gods. a shame clark kent didn't get much chance to shine in man of steel. because i think the casting itself was spot on.
