Because it's cliche as hell. I know that's how most of the kid shows end but I want them to add more twists to it.

Uh the theif having no idea what to do met Ms Baker. The Gundam nut. And it was her idea to put it to use for toys. She's the reason why gunpla exists at all. Forget about how she "lost her way" and thank her for making this series exist in the first place.
Instead of showing Reiji's universe, i was hoping the statue(s) would come alive and start running amok and everyone's toys would have to defeat them for the last episode.
since the main gundam is a cameo from the real life statue I guess they wouldn't want to defile the statue's image in that way

Dark Matter so boss.Predictable, but good ep and action nonetheless. At least it wasn't the same Build Knuckle, lol.

Way too cool. Loved it.
The Third didn't really cheat, though. The stage change was definitely cheating, but he was just attacking the weak parts of the Build Strike. That's not cheating. That's just getting work done.
The sword thing must have been the method they use to make that crazy shot from the beginning of the episode at a smaller scale. I'm assuming the arrows were pure wat, since I don't remember them. Maybe an addition made before the fight? Sei would have had time.
Also:

This fight was pretty good. Not as good the GM Sniper K9 fight but that one was exceptional.

The animation was INCREDIBLE. The best, by far of the whole series. Even the cut-in faces of the pilots were top tier.
And man, I didn't know I'd like the Exia Dark Matter so much, but man, that shit was boss! Plot armor made him lose, but man, that may be one of the most OP Gundams (even outside Build Universe) I have ever seen.

So I guess Mashita blames Reiji for the fact that he had to live as a thief back in Aria and for distrupting his easy-going life

kinda weak as far as motivation goes and tbf Reiji probably wouldn't done anything if Mashita didn't cheat in the first place!!!
I'm assuming the giant crystal under the arena didn't teleport with Mashita into this world, but was developed/built by the PP research team and that he arrived with his compass crystal

Alright episode, the episode did remind me of Age at least and just made me disappointed that Age's knuckle attack was far more well done and pleasing than Build Knuckle has been.
I would have done this fight differently as well

Nothing much could have been done about that since we saw all his fights and they did not let him use any of his other systems like discharged or aqua .
If he could change his suits every few ep like Meijin it could have been more fun but even then Meijin still use a power up mode in the last 3 fights .

Was it? Seemed more like Sei and Reiji letting their guard down because they expected Yuuki to be all LOVE AND RESPECT FOR GUNPLA than anything else.

amazing animation. amazing OST. great fight. the final strike was a tad hacked on but at that point in the fight I didn't really care (I was extremely energized). I liked the theme of their win "Gunpla will overcome all".. cheesy yes but come on.. it's a pretty gushy show to begin with. that they brought the OP theme back for the climax was what sealed it.

As everyone expected, predictable lame build knuckle finisher. I really don't get why Meijin fighting style is evil in this episode, you fight to win, you hit your opponent weak points. Doping is understandable in its evilness, but the "Oh nos, Meijin is hitting the joint!" So WHAT?
Now, next episode looks delicious with all Gundams fortress raid.

I thought the episode was pretty disappointing, actually. The fight was alright (I think Sei/Reiji vs. Fellini back around ep. 15 is still the high point for the series) but I would have greatly preferred just a straight battle with Yuuki. There was no reason to write the story with the evil Meijin plot point and it robs the show of the long awaited rematch between Reiji and Yuuki.
The G Gundam shoutout and A Bao Qu appearance were cool though. Finale looks like it'll be fun.

Yeah, it was kinda strange. He did though get two unfair advantages with the embodys system and the constant field change to suit his needs.

I guess you can argue how convincingly they sold it, but the idea, I think, is that he was fighting dirty. Like, compare the way they fought Fellini and the way they fought Meijin to see the difference between no-holds-barred fights. Fellini went all out, just like the Meijin did, but he wasn't playing dirty. He was out to fight them, and not win with cheap tricks.
Like, if you play Pokemon with someone and he brings all Uber Legendaries. Sure, he can, because the game lets him do that and he can do what he wants to win, but it's playing dirty, a dick move, and most people will be mad about it.
I don't know that they did a good job showing it, but that's the idea, I guess. It wasn't sportsman like. It was foul play, and I think if I was Sei and Reiji I'd be a little upset, too, because the entire tournament the odds have been stacked specifically against them and they were hoping for a good, clean fight against this guy they'd come to respect, only for him to start pulling cheap tricks like targeting joints or backing them into corners that didn't exist ten seconds ago or pinning them to a wall and then pummeling them rather than just fighting them.
And I mean, Sei at least is just a kid from a happy home who is playing in a tournament with his friend, so it makes sense that he'd finally complain a bit if all this shit had happened to him.
I agree, they could've done a better job showing Kawaguchi play dirty, but the idea was that it was unsportsmanlike conduct and shocking when they'd expected a good, clean match with like they'd had with Fellini.

I think it's just hard to tell what is and is not sportsman like conduct in a sport that is entirely fictional.
I think the show has made it pretty clear that, regardless of how you're battling, you should show a certain amount of lightheartedness. The ones who violated that tacit code of conduct, Renato Bros, Berserk Aila, Berserk Meijin, and the Second Meijin were all guilty of being too serious.
Obviously, this doesn't make sense in our world, but it's been consistent inside the world of GBF, with all the tournament finalists being all buddy buddy with each other, with nary a single line of malicious trashtalking.

Well keep in mind, besides being a competitive game to them, it's also model building. If it was real I would be pissed I dropped money and time to build something and someone wrecked the joints. If the arm was stabbed up, I can snap a replacement one on the connecting joint. But if the joint itself was messed up, I would need to do a lot of work or outright buy a new piece.

True. With Fellini he went all out because he respected them and the honor of the fight. With Kawaguchi it was just the crown jewel of unfun on a tournament that had been geared toward ruining their fun all along.
I guess you can see this with Aila's arc. Like Gunpla isn't fun to her because it's just business, whereas afterward it is fun to her because it becomes, well, a game. Like Reiji at the start is like "I don't have to hold back because I know it's a game."
I can definitely get that. It's very reminiscent of how Domon wanted to have good fights against his comrades and how Allenby detested the Berserker system for that very reason.

I didn't think the fight was that good to be honest. Some cool moments, sure. But their second fight against his Zaku Amazing was better.
I can't wait to see what the next episode is going to be like. A Baoa Qu is a great way to end the series

AH! That's it. Targeting joints is foul play because it's literally the equivalent of kicking a dude in the knees during a fight. You can get away with it, but every single person will know you're a lousy chump for doing it.
When I used to play Mechwarrior, you could effectively completely disable an enemy by shooting out their legs (and in some version of the game, destroying two legs would kill them). There became an unspoken rule to not aggressively go after the legs because otherwise the entire meta would just descend into everyone trying to maximize leg damage which would have been not fun at all. I like to imagine it's the same sort of thing here in Gunpla battles.
I don't know, Sei purposefully injecting extra glue into his gunpla's arm to shut down Nils' secret move after seeing it is a lot more unsportsman-like to me than Renato Bros' use of traps and 1/144 soldiers.
