Dark Souls II |OT2| Prepare to Vengarl

I'm pretty sure it carries over. I checked the covenant stats in NG+ and they were all there. By the way, maybe you already know this, but regarding the Bell Keep covenant,
if you see the red phantom that spawn in Belfry Sol and kill him, that counts as a kill towards the Bell Keeper rank. That red phantom spawn randomly though, so you might have to go down the bonfire many, many times. But its easier, and perhaps quicker, than beating real life players.

Thanks for the info !
I've heard of the
red phantom but I haven't seen him once despite spending quite some time in Belfry Sol
. Well, it shouldn't be too long anyway before I reach rank 2...

The guide says
"*There is a 1/1000 chance that a special piglet will spawn in Brighttone Cove Tseldora's Royal Army Campsite. If it doesn't appear, resting at the Bonfire or other wise resetting the area will give you another chance to find him. This piglet is not hostile and will follow you. If you can take the piglet all the way to the mushrooms in the bottom of the Cove, he'll eat the mushrooms and you'll get the Pickaxe. The mushroom as in the building following the crystal damage floors."only way to get it
The pickaxe was my best bro.. why did you do this from ;_;

Wtf, this is crazy. This is the type of stuff I wish we didn't know yet from the guide.

That horrible feeling when your job sends you numerous states away for work and you realize you can't play Dark Souls 2 for 6 whole days...sigh

At least I can catch up on some of my Vita backlog.

In Brightstone Cove, at the first bonefire, near the campsite, there is a 1 in a 1000(?) chance a pig will spawn. You can keep resting at the bonfire over & over to make him appear.
When he does, he will not be hostile, but will follow you.
Take him to the mushrooms near the bottom of the cave & inside a building & he will eat them & give you a pickaxe.

The draw of the weapon is that it is lightweight compared to the other great hammers (only 8 instead of 12-18 weight) & the base damage (150) is better than the lightest Great Hammer (110 base damage).

I actually got it to spawn today playing on my Dex/Hex build. Bit annoyed that it wasn't on my strength build though... 1/1000 is insane.

Stats for anyone wondering:

22 Strength and 8 Dexterity needed with a A rank in Strength scaling. Base damage fully upgraded is 300. Quite a nice move set too, similar to the Large Club.

Is winning an Arena match that difficult? It was pretty clear they wanted people to get their organized PvP fix in the Arena then reward them with some invasions. I'm looking forward to it because many hours spent in Oolicile just waiting for PvP. I'm hoping the Arena's don't die like they did in Dark Souls so i'm kinda glad they have a point now.

Harder than buying them from Kaathe en masse then getting an infinite version, and harder than having them as a common drop from golems like the blue orbs. Winning an arena duel isn't particularly hard, it's just winning a massive number of them to get a large number of red eye orbs to be able to invade at will that's a massive time sink.

Yeah, I was just approaching it wrong and tried to tank the damage too much. Naked Souls prevails once again.

I'm also in the same boat as you with the summon stuff. I have not seen a single person not die to that damned AoE move yet, haha.

Alternatively you could have used the greatsheild with 100% fire resist. Also makes the fight easy.

1/1000 drop chance in a game with mob extinction? Good lord.

Is he appearing alongside the two others (aggressive) or does he "take the place" of one of the normal ones?

I'm asking because I'd like to farm his spawn but I've already killed everything in the camp. And if he doesn't spawn because of that, it's no use trying.

Speaking about bosses. Regarding one NPC,
Bernhart, do i have to keep him alive during the Throne of Want fight? Or do i have to keep him alive at the very last boss too? Can i do the Throne of Want boss now, then go to the Giant Lord boss and beat him too?
I think you need to keep him alive for the Throne defender + watcher and the final boss, but I'm not 100% sure. Make sure you do the Giant Lord fight with him first though, when I done the final fight with him first it wouldn't let me summon him for Giant Lord

It's okay. You can go for the Heide Knight Chainmail instead.

Which has better stats, poise and looks a hell of a lot better than the Llewellyn set. I got the full Llewellyn set but discarded it because it looks lame

Appears next to the other two pigs, same size as the ones in Majula.

Yes it does attack you.

You're right. Easiest way for the trophy is to ascetic the congregation boss and fight that again if he dies somewhere.

You can actually kill
watcher and.defender
and then die or go back to the bonfire and then summon him again with full health. Worked for me.

No problem =) The
red phantom spawns close to outside where you ring the bell. It seems to be very random when he spawns. Sometimes he kept spawning several times in a row for me, other times i had to go down to the bonfire maybe close to ten times before he spawned again. He spawns at once though. I mean, if you dont see him there, its no point in waiting, just go down to the bonfire, rest there and walk up to Belfry Sol again.

I will do that, thanks :)

Iron Keep spoilers itp

Smelter Demon is the second toughest fight for me so far after the Pursuer though I reckon I will one-shot the Pursuer when I do him again. He is the first boss that caused me to return so many times the enemies stopped spawning and I'm kind of glad they did
KuGsj.gif

It's a great fight though. Question about a side quest
Does Lucatiel have to survive it? If so... wow. Summoned her on 3 of my attempts (not the last, successful one funnily enough) and she died before he even went into the fire rage :/

Got 130k souls after all of that, think I might stick them in Endurance and maybe open up some Attunement slots for this nice Pyro I found...

So, things that can only be obtained on NG+?

I'm only familiar about the
Moonlight Greatsword.

I think like 10 bosses have unique drops, all rings. Four bosses also drop unique souls, 3 out of the 4 being used to make both a weapon and spell (one is just a spell).

;____;

and cool. which stat scales with pyromancy? i wanna try it out. im going for a dex/pyro build

I think, anyway. I don't remember if I had branches, hm. And fire scales with Int now.

Your spoiler is kinda funny and you will see why if you go back into the boss room after hitting a bonfire. =)

EDIT: Just re-read your post and I think you already know what I'm talking about. Im a doof.

Where can I buy/farm chunks? I wanna upgrade this crap lol

You can farm them from the bell covenant or from the stone enemies in Drangleic, but I think they drop slabs more often (lol).

After the last boss and before NG+ though, you can buy infinite amounts, I think from the Blacksmith's daughter.

You keep your sin though. And then you get invaded left and right by blue spirits. It's awesome.

Are you getting invaded by them a lot? Pretty lucky. I've been invaded -once- by a blue spirit and it was in Heide's so it barely counts.

Man, the Crypt Blacksword is so good. I'm at 40 str/10 dex/20 int/20 faith and I have it at +3 right now and I haven't come across anything that touches it in terms of raw AR (578 unbuffed with the aforementioned stats). It's too bad the range seems so much shorter than the standard greatsword, and the moveset is a little poor.

Anyone find anything stronger?

I'm trying to get the Hidden Weapon spell but I'm about to start New Game +2 and I have yet to reach rank 2 in the Bell Keeper covenant...

Will my rank and my number of kills since I reached rank 1 be carried over to NG+2 ?

Rank definitely carries over, but I don't believe it's been confirmed that the progress towards ranks does. In fact I've read elsewhere that it does not, but I didn't test it myself.

what carries over into NG+?

same things as in DS1?

Everything except
King's Ring, Fragrant Branches of Yore, and all items on the Keys screen.

I get summoned only a few seconds after putting my sign down. I think it's mint.

Same here. Depends on location, of course, but key areas are bustling with activity.

That's what I was thinking too. For something more substantial like DLC, I don't think they'd keep the time limit. I'd love to actually see the
Land of the Giants where Vendrick went.

According to a lot of the theories out there now, you can do this by
playing the first Dark Souls. ;)

I'm stuck at
Drangleic Castle
, and I'd like just the smallest hint to get me going?
Normally wouldn't ask, but I suspect some progress breaking glitch might be the culprit.
Anyways, I beat the 2 dragonriders... and now nothing. Locked door, no more progress.
I've checked all the king symbol doors, the one in giants fortress and the one in the basement, but nothing. Also, the golem after the riders won't activate for me.
Did I miss something obvious or what?

I've been using this just because I like the look of it. Like you said, it's pretty short and the moveset isn't that great, but it's quite strong.

My AR is like 7xx though, I think 756 or something. 20str/12dex/32int/30faith. I never one hand the thing so I didn't bother with the Str, and I infused it as Dark. Better idea for that weapon, imo.

In the room with the single golem and the statue knights, did you kill one of them near the golem? That will activate the lift. If you already tried then not sure.

I just got my first hate mail for putting my sword and shield away and using poison throwing knives while dodging a barrage of magic and then finishing him off with witching urns

Man, I need to beat last boss first to buy them? Boo.

Just beat Undead Crypt and sounds of bells is ringing in my head.
