Streetpassed someone with flipnote as their last bit of used software. Rubbing salt in the wound. :(

...what happens when you choose the person's mii and go on the part about "knowing more about the game" or something like that ?

Does it link you to the app's page on eshop ?

Crazy avatar bet, discussions about the smash series in order of best to worst and a deleted tweet about a possible ND. I miss being around for afternoon SmashGAF :(

Fox had metal legs?

“Legless pilots can handle more Gs than their legged bretherin. When gravity forces blood from the brain to lower extremities, it causes the pilot to black out. But if you have no legs to force blood to, more blood can stay in the brain, and it’s easier for the heart to pump blood back to the brain.

“Their legs were probably voluntarily amputated as these are all trained pilots. Their futuristic society allows for prosthetics that allows them to walk and run normally so there’s no loss in performing these amputations.”

From what i understand that part of the series has been retconed. I'm sure boss doggie knows the deal .

Yes, all the way back to the first game's cover showing his metal legs. The only thing weird about it is G-diffusers are supposed to negate the G-forces.

I remember this tidbit from the Did You Know Gaming? Star Fox episode. Very cool stuff. Man Star Fox has so much potential as an IP and Nintendo doesn't know what to do with it. :(

...

I am looking forward to next week now that we're getting some MK8 news!

Gadzooks! How cool and freaky at the same time! Imagine that plot point in the 3D titles during the cut scenes? During down time the crew are relaxing in a hot tub but we only see their amputated lower halls when the emerge to dry off.

They don't mention the fact that the actual reason that they had metal legs was because they were from the actual real-life models they used for photography promotion. Initially they only planned torso shots (seen above), and so they didnt bother finishing the legs and feet. Once the photo shoot came about, they decided to do a few full-body shots (below), and therefore the incomplete metallic legs were included in the shots. They then decided to make this canon and include it in future character models.

This is made even more apparent by the fact that the in-game model of star fox on SNES had boots

I'm trying to find where my source is from, so until then, take it with a grain of salt, I guess. But also know the whole g-force thing about blood flowing to their legs is also nothing more than a fan theory. Citing the 'did you know gaming' episode does not count as a source.

Thinking about it now, when I was much younger I used to ask myself "why are their metal boots so small? Their legs should not be able to fit in those." My 11 year old mind would be blown to bits.

That is correct, also pretty much every starfox model since then has had fox and his comrades in some sort of combat boots

They pretty much only had the robot leg thing in the nintendo power art/comics, I assume because the artist was copying those real-life models that were incomplete from the waist below.

Oh man I can't wait to see the image Sakurai posts on April Fool's Day.

"Pic Of The Day: While this may appear to be Ridley facing off against Samus, it's actually just the return of poseable trophies!"

even better:
"Pic of the Day: Ridley joins the battle!"
*no new character thing appears on the website*
next day: "Pic of the Day: April Fools, yesterday's pic was just a joke, Ridley is actually a stage hazard on Pyrosphere!"

Ban Sakurai from Miiverse, that'll teach him.
