Yep, the project that seeks to take an existing game and make it better by using the best elements of said game and combining them with the best elements of a previous game in the same series is disrespectful. I would understand that sort of argument if the PM team was actively dissing on Brawl or suggesting that Brawl was directly inferior or something but they're, um, really not. And never have, to my knowledge.

This just in: HeartGold/SoulSilver are disrespectful to the original Gold/Silver because they change things to make them better.

X Bomb is in it too. Two weapons from one entry in one series (a smaller series, too) is fairly high. I wouldn't expect another one, outside of an assist trophy.

Don't think it had much to do with size of the series, I think it depends on wether the team thinks they could make good use out of the series's items. Mario series known for its power ups has lots of items in Smash (Big/Little Mushrooms, Fire Flowers, Starmans, Koopa Shells) While other big series such as DK have none as far as I recall (unless the Barrel counts)

No, I didn't. I said that people elevating a mere mod based on the culmination of development of three separate full fledged games, pain stakingly and meticulously crafted by technically one man we all pretty much revere, smacks as disrespectful, which means that IMO, coming to the conclusion that a fan made mod,solid or not, is better than the sum of its parts, comes across as disrespectful.

That is not at all the same thing as thinking that the makers are disrespectful or that the mod's existence is such. I love project m and think the authors did some fantastic stuff. None of it would exist without the other 3 games though , so they will always be the superior works to me anyway.

That's the black club, the one that looks like a large black monolith.
