Why is Singer so bent on making visually boring movies. Those uniforms + the fact that everything looks like it's built from gray hospital-clean metal... uggh.

You fucking costume zealot! Don't bash our Bryan Singer in anyway!

You know I never really thought about it until I recently saw some of the old animated series again.
God Rogue sucks in these movies, she was probably the coolest character in the animated series.

For every character he gets right, he gets one wrong. Rogue is one of the worst from comic to movie characterizations ever. Rogue is supposed to be awesome.

It's horrible, but I honestly hope this film doesn't do too well so that we can get this property back to Marvel and have a complete reboot a few years from now.
I want actual colourful X-men, I want Rogue, and I want Gambit, Storm done right. Oh and Cyclops, I want Cyclops back.

But can we somehow keep Jackman as Wolverine?

That was amazing casting above. But it won't happen. After the reboot, the best thing about this X-Men will be gone :-(.

Other than Wolverine, casting of Magneto and Xavier was perfect, as well. Not sure how they could top those, young or old.

Everything else is completely replaceable, though.

Stewart and especially McKellen are getting too old, unfortunately.

Now, Fass and McAvoy? Keep those guys around forever plz.

i dont know who could possibly replace jackman as wolverine

Yeah, this recasting is going to be really hard to do when the times come.

I maintain they should just age the character so Jackman can continue to play him for at least the next decade...he is only 45 after all and in fantastic shape.

Gerard Butler might work

Eh, if this bombs I think they would just jump to the Wolverine sequel.

I'm tired of the cast now, even Jackman who is now the angry man with muscles that makes me laugh with the awkwardly long look I'm intense scenes. Time to move on.

I didn't like McAvoy at all in First Class and Fassbender, don't turn Irish this time.

You do know that Comics Rouge, which is what Marvel Rouge is, is not the 90's Cartoon colorful Ms. Marvel powered version right?

Animated Series Rogue is best Rogue,
I don't even remember anything of Evolution Rogue besides her design.

I don't really follow comics much anymore(outside of just following Batman) but the 90's were the only time I recall liking Rogue.

It ocurred to me that this might be the last X-Men movie with Ian McKellen and Patrick Steward ='(

Oh damn. Yeah man mckellen especially played a huge part in my childhood entertainment. Since I grew up with lord of the rings and the xmen franchise

Da gawd.

Going to be weird to see how they handle letting the two go. Interested to see how they write Fass and Mac into the part for the foreseeable future.

Though I wonder if a complete reboot is in order after Apocalypse? Or is this a new start?

I don't need JLaw Mystique anymore.

I hope she thinks she's too big for this soon and leaves. Jlaw bugs me when she speaks, don't like her being so major in this franchise going forward

Yup. I really don't think she's a very good actress. Especially considering the recognition she gets.

I actually think Quicksilver will turn out better than a lot of the young cast. He's completely comic relief I bet. Maybe they'll make the future version look different too (unless he's dead). I base all of this on nothing.

Why do people want this to go to Marvel so badly? I mean, it's not like they can't do a revision in a few years regardless. Not like their track record is so inspired and great. I don't get it. X2 is better than most of their films, and First Class was pretty good. We don't need every comic thread turning into a "imagine how much better this would be as a Marvel movie!" We get it.

Yo in that brief snippet quicksilver was already more tolerable than the xbrats in first class

Yeah the marvel fans just need to chill already. Whine about f4 instead, I don't think they'd do much great stuff with the xmen franchise aside from adhering to a more traditional aesthetic

Yup. Sadly looks like the kid who played Havok is back... hopefully just a cameo cause all them needed to go.

Jlaw is a great actress IMO, but she's totally the wrong choice for Mystique. She's supposed to be sultry, seductive and deadly. JLaw is none of those.

I think DoFP is sort of a reboot itself. I'm expecting the timelines to alter so that the First Class crew have a different future than the original cast. I expect the timelines to go like this:

First Class -> Days of Future Past. Then after DoFP the timelines will branch out.

Timeline A: X-Men -> X2 -> Last Stand -> Wolverine
Timeline B: Apocalypse -> Future sequels

That way it doesn't negate anything that happens in the original trilogy but also allows them to keep the younger cast for future movies (except for future Wolverine movies, which will likely stick to the original trilogy timeline).

Of course this is just speculation.

Wow, I just noticed what Wolverine is wearing on the poster, it actually looks pretty good.

I just assumed it was black uncomfortable leather, and overlooked it.

I would love to see a bulky Bob Hoskins as wolverine.

Short, hairy and totaly pissed

Too bad he is too old now

I hope she thinks she's too big for this soon and leaves.

To be fair by the nature of Mystique's powers ... she is TOTALY replaceable to the point that would be fun if was one actress each movie ... like if mystique was like "meh, lets try be taller and more fit now"

Goth Rogue in Evolution was great. Given her powers it made sense that she's an outsider.

Yeah Fassbender and McAvoy are great. Happy we're getting another X-Men movie with them after this one.

The Apocalypse movie will be with the younger cast from the First Class? I thought it's from the present times/future.

X2 was as dark as you were going to get and that film is awesome. I'd even say X2 is one of the best superhero films ever.

X2 has 2 GLORIOUS action sequences and my top3 quote ever (the nightcrawler/mystique talk)

Apocalypse will be with the first class people in the 80's

WHICH MEANS that the NEXT movie after that will be in the 90's.....which in my mind will be an adaptation of the jim lee/cartoon era

Did someone say 90's? I'll just leave this here.

Yes. http://www.vulture.com/2013/12/will-bryan-singer-direct-x-men-apocalypse.html

Vulture has learned that after finishing up next summer's X-Men: Days of Future Past, Singer will indeed be behind the camera on the new film, making this the director's first back-to-back foray into the X-Men world since he kicked off the franchise with X-Men (in 2000) and X2 (in 2003). But though Days of Future Past weaves together the veteran X-Men cast (including Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, and Halle Berry) and the younger actors introduced in X-Men: First Class (James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, and Jennifer Lawrence), and Apocalypse will be a direct sequel set up in Days of Future Past's closing moments, the new film is intended to focus strictly on the younger McAvoy-Fassbender cast.
