List of every PS4 game announced for 2014 so far – 100+ and growing (PS blog)

So many damn games. Sony is continuing their momentum. They aren't fucking around. People doubting them now don't realize they are creating a back catalogue for later. You have to start somewhere. This time, a year later people will look back and see just how many (good) games they will have available.

Decent list. Though the indie stuff that isn't exclusive is pretty null for me. Since I much prefer to enjoy those on the PC.

I hope The Order: 1886 can keep its date cause that is the PS4 exclusive that i'm most anticipating. I think it can be a big hit for Sony if its a great game.

that's a pretty solid list. if you own a PS4 there's a lot to be excited about

unfortunately for me I'm on the outside looking in. there really isn't much to warrant throwing down $400+ especially considering most of the games I'm interested in can be had on other platforms that I already own like Child of Light, 1001 Spikes, and forma.8

who am I kidding, Arkham Knight will persuade me

Edit: I thought Cosmic Star Heroine was coming out on PC first, and that's got a release date of Dec 2014 according to the KS. Was I wrong, is it a simultaneous release?

Cosmic Star Heroine is currently scheduled to come out simultaneously for PC, Mac, PS4, and Vita. Maybe Linux as well although that's not as pressing since it wasn't part of the original pitch. XBO version will come out sometime afterwards.

Indies, indies everywhere! Don't get me wrong, i don't hate indies, it's just that most of the indie games that have been released so far on ps4 are pretty bad. They are like iphone games i play them once and delete them.

Sucks that most games I'm looking forward to reside in TBA land.

Including the ever elusive Minecraft :(

Don't worry. This generation is the gen of "I'll tell you the release date the month before". They'll be coming soon enough.

You can play Outlast on your phone?

Yeah but indie games are not games. I only buy consoles for 60 million dollar blockbusters that result in studio closures when they sell 4 million copies.

Indies on PC make consoleports pretty useless, especially if they offer nothing but higher prices.

There's still plenty of AAA games - in case you missed them in the list.

Cross-buy on PS3/4/Vita makes PC versions useless though.

Not everyone games on their PC.

And I'm more willing to spend time with my purchase if they don't come from Steam. Fucking backlog.

Plus, you can't deny dat cross buy/remote play goodness.

No, i'm just making a point that these indie games aren't interesting enough to keep my attention for more then an hour. I played Outlast for 20 minutes then i deleted it because it wasn't very interesting.

Watch_Dogs (if GAF loves it)
Sniper Elite 3
Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark (if reviews are good)
Dragon Age: Inquisition
Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor (if GAF loves it)
Batman: Arkham Knight

The ones already out are minimal at best in regards to the list. How about the ones coming out?

Cross-buy on PS3/4/Vita makes PC versions useless though.

I don't own a PS4/Vita though. And crossbuy isnt a reason to change that.

Not everyone games on PC you know. Even if you do there are reasons to prefer the PlayStation versions.

Why are gaming habits of someone else a good argument?

Open plattform, more games, better prices. Good enough.

Because everyone has a different way of playing and gaming? Your particular views don't always align with others. What I, and many others were referring to, are the reasons why someone might choose not to use a PC as their indie machine.

The argument was buying a 400 bucks machine for Indies. I already have a laptop where I can play more and cheaper. Therefore, someone else playing habits aren't a compelling reason.

To be honest Child of Light is the only small downloadable game on that list that i want to play. If you have any other suggestions i am open.

I mean, what are you into? I'm not the best go-to guy on the indie stuff, but I can try to shoot some recommendations your way.

You have a laptop. That's not the situation that others carry. Some, such as myself, love having a machine that carries indie games as well.

Can you point out who said that their PS4 would primarily be for indies? It seems to me that people just like playing them on the PS4 more so than just buying a machine for that reason.

I think once you separate your own personal experience from what others are doing, you might see why someone would chose a different platform. Nobody is saying you personally have to pick up a PS4 for some indie gamin', just that they might.

Higher prices, like Free?

Or sometimes a free portable version to go with it?

Or in the case of simultaneous launches, a slightly lower price with the + discount?

You are using your gaming habits as justifications for your arguments "I don't own a Vita though!" While dismissing everyone else's. Surely you've noticed this?

No Uncharted! Don't know why I ever thought it'd be 2014.
They haven't announced any release window for Uncharted so it's unlikely even if it was coming out this year (I highly doubt it as they have The Order: 1866 fill in that Fall TPS gap) they'd put it in that list.

Oh I had no doubts it would be a terrible transformers game. I was simply surprised that I hadn't heard of it yet, that's all.

LOL. Fall of Cybertron wasn't bad at all, in fact it was one of my favorite video games the year it came out. (But then I love Transformers so experiencing that is always going to be a plus for me.)

Rise of the Dark Spark though...I want it to be good, but I've got the feeling it won't be.

I can kind of see your point but I would think you can find maybe 5 or 6 games out of a list that long that appeal.

Secret Ponchos seems okay. Mercenary Kings looks great, and I love that it's made by the people who did Scott Pilgrim vs. The World's video game. Outside of that...maaaaybe Strike Suit Zero? I hate forcing myself to be excited about a game though.

I'm starting to think that dev from Kingdom Come was right when he said that most third party publishers were not expecting the New consoles to be successful, and thus chose to hold back on development. I'm pumped for a lot of stuff on that list, but it's not crazy to think that the support of product from many third party pubs is pretty paltry at the moment.

The lack of games from WWS games is the one that's harder to grasp, but I would rather they announce them when they have something to show honestly.

If you like indies, I don't see how there aren't dozens of titles for you to choose from. And if you like AAA games, I don't see how there aren't dozens of titles for you to choose from. And if you like both, I don't see how you aren't going broke this year.

Unless you like Japanese games, in which case you will have a very lonely year, or will spending a lot of time on portable systems.

Yeah, the new AC isn't even on the list. There's no doubt there are still a few more games coming out.

I'd rather have more games like Batman, Order 1886, and Alien Isolation than games like Basement Crawl. Thank you.
Based on its scores, I'm sure there's a whole lot of games that most people would prefer over Basement Crawl, including a whole host of indies that score way better than Basement Crawl. But I'll bet you already knew that, sly little cherrypicker that you are.

I switched because I started to realize my X1 wasn't going to cut in the long run power wise. But Microsoft at-least has a variety of games right now Zoo Tycoon, Killer Instinct, Titanfall, etc.

It's good to see games are coming, though...

EDIT: Cell Damage HD? What the hell...that games almost 15 years old.

I'm guessing that "winter" list will grow substantially right after E3... I mean, it was the best part of "the Last of Us" so naturally, it will be the best this year as well, amIrite?

I think they started accelerating their development for the PS4. Famitsu was discussing a bunch of developers were pretty far along.

Like I said, this generation has been LOOK AT THIS GAME COMING OUT SOON BUY IT NEXT MONTH with little to no warning.

Sucks to see Sony show their hand like that and for me not to be excited. I would love a reason to pick up a PS4, but even looking out across the expanses of 2014, I still don't see one. I hope the fall/winter lineup will grow in the next few months (E3).

But if this is what the lineup looks like now, I don't think I'll be getting a PS4 before March 2015 (after the first big round of major exclusives).

Well, if the GTAV and TLOU rumours are true, that's already two additional games to add to the list. And there will undoubtedly be a ton of indies to add to that list in the coming months too.

Whoa. I actually want like 12 of those.

I mean, nothing earth shattering(in my opinion) but ehh... not bad.

A gamer who buys 12% of the year's output of games is a whale of a customer for game devs. You say 12 games like that's a low number. That's a lot of games for one person to be interested in.

I shouldn't have to say this but they won't confirm or announce anything on this list. And I can't believe there's people who still count indie games as one genre in 2014....fucking ridiculous.

What are the chances for GG Xrd to hit the ps4 in 2014?

even jp only would be good :/

The game is confirmed for 2014 and the Guilty Gear developers will be at E3 this year, expect a US release date there.

The list is good without these two rumours added to it.

But either would ensure the console sells like crazy over the summer that's for sure.

The argument was buying a 400 bucks machine for Indies.

Setting aside this exact argument also being applicable to a gaming PC (though most likely with a figure much higher than $400 inserted), you might have a point if indies were actually the only things coming/available on said machine, but of course this is not the case.

I can actually imagine few less appealing ways to game than using my laptop personally, so I'm quite glad I get some options as to where I can purchase indie developed titles these days.
