Eesh, guess my SL150 build is about to become a SL160-170 build. Whatever, it's worth it. I've been very lucky with co-op at every point thus far.

But worth investing in because it's... better? When you choose not to dual wield? I find shields quite handy, still. I find armor heavy, still, and when I choose a better armor my rolling is shit. So dual wielding... I'm still not sure.
are you sure? I thought you couldn't do that. If you've done it though...

You don't need to kill the Ancient dragon for the last soul, though. You can simply bonfire ascetic either of the bonfires connected to obtaining the other giant souls. That means either the final bonfire in forest of the giants (right next to the final giant memory), or the first one in the gulch.
What's a good spot for sunbros to lay down a sign at level 90?
Killed, was he supposed to be hard? I barely took any damage and I absolutely suck at this game. His attacks didn't hurt much.Dragonslayer
I've gotten a blacksteel katana almost instantly in NG+ while never seeing one in NG even after almost entirely depopulating the Iron Keep. RNG is just crazy.no, you people are all trolling me. That's it. You're all trolling me, theres no rhyme or reaosn why you can find several witbhout depopulating the level, but, I can not. I've even sued an ascetic and still no drop.

Amazing game so far, SL 54, battling my way through NMoWan'sright now; surprisingly, I was summoned 6 times there last night as a Blue Spirit to help fight invaders, and I'm not even NG+... lucky I guess?harf
Idied all 6 times XD
I was consistently able to get summoned for Skeleton Lords at level 85ish.What's a good spot for sunbros to lay down a sign at level 90?
LGookingis a cake walk.lass Knight
Yup this is where i got most of my medals. Super easy safe boss for co-op.
I really want to be a Heide Knight, how do you get the armor? I heard they drop them in NG+ but is it like, you kill one and it has a random chance of dropping one piece?
Can you just use a Bonfire Aescetic to up the difficulty?
Passed the Shrine of Amana after raging for a good 2 days.
It was hard for me to adapt to it with the build i'm playing.
This is truly hardcore stuff.
I just dodge under soul greatsword and laugh at them. It's still a matter of roll timing, though it caught me off guard the first few times I saw it.
.
In case anyone is stuck on Ancient Dragon, after struggling with that fight for over 5 hours last night, I got a strategy that is almost foolproof.
1. Remove all your equipment, you want to be as light as possible. You're going to get one shotted anyway.
The basic idea here is to get him to turn around and face the opposite direction, at which point the fight is trivial.
2. As soon as you enter, run a little to the right and just far enough away from him that he won't do the face swipe. Don't atatck yet, just wait to see what he does. He will do one of two things:
a) Lift his head high into the air. When he does this run straight up to him, attack his leg two or three times, then run back in front of his face again.
b) Lift his wings and fly up. When he does this, run directly forward (i.e. under him) as fast as you can until he's finished breathing fire.
After he does b) for the first time, he will land his tail right about where you're standing. Hit his tail once (or none at all if you want to be safe), then move away. He will now either do tail slam, in which case just dodge it very easily, or fly into the air again. Flying into the air is what you want. When he does it, run backwards and don't stop. When he's done, the fight's basically over unless you do something stupid. From now, the entire fight proceeds as follows:
1) You stand in front of his face, he goes up on his hind legs, you run up and hit him two or three times in the leg and run back in front of his face.
2) He lifts his wings up, you run backwards, wait for fire to finish, run back in front of his face and wait for him to repeat the process.
He always alternates between these two moves, and will never do anything else. So it will always be standing fire breath (run up and attack) -> flying fire breath (run back and wait) -> standing fire breath -> flying fire breath, etc etc until the end of the fight. However, you have to make sure you stand in front of his face and wait for him to telegraph the next move, otherwise if you're in the wrong position he might choose a different move and mess up the cycle.
I kill 2 so far on ng + . I used the snake ring and one of those coins to boost my luck. I got the chest plates both times which pissed me off cause I was hoping for some boots the second time.
The halberd's running attack is the best thing ever.

No matter what I did I couldn't escape that fire when he went into the air. I gave up after about 20 tries.
Any tips for belfry sol? I'm getting my ass slaughtered. The black phantons, the greatsword ones destroy me. I can't dodge because they hit me no matter what. Wherever I roll too the guys can instantly predict and hit me. I can't attack because I get hit, and by then I'm already being invaded.
Just reached The Gutter and after having a good run through it I came toand decided nope. Went in search of a bonfire and seen one through the gaps in the platform I was on but rolled to my death trying to find a way to access it. Now right back at the beginning.. I'm guessing this is II's blighttown.that giant spider
Well, respecced my build from STR40/DEX36 to STR56/DEX20.
Im doing exactly the same damage with the Claymore (C/C scaling).
I got like 90 damage more with the Mastodont Greatsword (A/C scaling).
So yeah, seems like Quality build isnt worth it.
Does it really matter, im at 20 and feel no difference at all from when it was at 10.
That's the reason for a) standing a few inches in front of his face, so you have a good head start, and b) not wearing any equipment, so you run faster. If you wear equipment you won't make it. Since with this strategy he alternates every single time, you don't even have to be able to read his telegraphs, you just know in advance that this time he's going to fly, so as soon as he moves his body even slightly, you can just turn around and run. Trust me, I struggled with him for 5 hours straight, I probably fought him 100 times. So I know what you're going through. But this strategy definitely works. I went from dying within 5 seconds to beating him without ever being in danger.
Extincting every enemy on the way to him really helps a lot as well, but it takes a while.
Iron keep is going to be my end...this place is pure hell.
