Dark Souls II |OT2| Prepare to Vengarl

Is
The Rotten boss
meant to be fought with help because I've been trying it Solo and getting absolutely destroyed in mere seconds.

Roll through attacks. If the attack is sweeping from the left (his right), roll into and through the attack. It's really hard to block most of his attacks. The stam drain is brutal on his stuff. Keep in mind he can do his overhead attack up to three times so be careful with that. A dodge to the side will keep you safe from it though. The grab attack is totally unblockable, but really slow.

Edit: So I'm not totally repeating what someone previously said. Try to pull him towards the middle of the room. It gives you more room to dodge around without having to worry about the fire pits.

Is the Berserker blade suppose to be a rare drop? I thought I was going to have a long night of farming ahead of me, but got it to drop after only 4 or 5 tries.

I've been meaning to ask. I've killed the final boss and still have an estus flask shard I can't use as well an an extra
branch of yore
. Were these just extras?

Yes, there are several extras in one playthrough, and you can't upgrade estus further even in NG+. Kind of disappointing, really. Also, any extra
branches
disappear when you start NG+.

So I just used two ascetics on
The Rotten
for
Lucatiel's
questline. Went into A
ldia's
K
eep
.

Was anyone else expecting her to come with you into Aldia's so she could duel her brother?

Damn, finally got the entire Mad Warrior armor set. It took more than 50 BP kills to get the final piece I needed.

Sooo, after ~150 hours I may finally get to NG+ soon. Only weapon I could still get but haven't yet in NG is the Pickaxe (yeah...didn't know it worked with the normal
pigs
until after I had already exterminated them).
I got most NG armor sets complete, but I know of 6 sets where I still need 1 or 2 pieces.
All of this not counting Dragon, Rat, Champion, Sentinel of Blue and Brotherhood of Blood covenants items, which I didn't level (yet, for some).

Man, the desert sorceress drops some pretty amazing loot.

Dragon charm, wilted dusk herb and lingering dragoncrest ring +1? Wow. Plus got a bunch of magic stones too.

Someone with an extra branch
of yore should free the petrified troll in Aldia's Keep
and see if it drops anything.
It drops one of those
space helmet masks
. Also doesn't respawn unless you use an ascetic so it IS a permanent, albeit mostly meaningless, shortcut.

I am having way too much trouble with the final boss when duel wielding greatswords. Also,
why couldn't they leave the king's doors permanently open after you've unlocked them? It just makes the trip back to the boss more tedious.

Are you destroying the orbs?

17 ascetics later and I've finally completed the Heide Knight set. Took me so many ascetics just to get the chainmail. Armor hasn't been much help to me but goddamn does it look badass. <_<

Dark Souls II thumbs up

iVnbbksww61ii.gif

lol that is awesome

Guys, I think I just accidentally beat the game.

Killed Nashandra without her touching me - at SL160 perhaps I was overleveled? Though that probably wouldn't have made a huge difference, considering how easy the fight was. I hope she ups her arsenal in NG+ and beyond.

Now all there is to do is beat
Vendrick, Rat Authority, and Ancient Dragon
...I think? Cool that they let you take care of business before rolling over.

Question about the ending:
do you just go through the fog door for the "refusal" ending?

There's also
Darklurker
, the boss of
the Pilgrims of Dark Covenant
.

Got him - he was almost as easy as
Nashandra
. Sunlight Spear just wrecks everyone's world.

Can anyone help me out with the giant souls? I have two,
from the giant's memory in the forest and the Black Gulch giant
, but I can't find the others. I know one resides with
ancient dragon
. Any more?

Hey, so I just beat
The Throne Watcher and Defender
.... and nothing happened.
I even had to walk my ass out of there, no bonfire, no extra area... I feel like the game glitched or something? Is that really how that event goes down normally?

There are two more memories you can access.
One after where The Pursuer was
and the other I don't remember.

anything important i need to wrap up for trophies before ng+? i already killed all the optional bosses.
I'd buy all the spells available before moving on. Well, you don't need to, but I got it out of the way.

Also, you may want to use the
cracked eye orb on Licia to invade and kill her to get the spell only she drops (after buying her spells).

Yeah. Something else happens there later.

The final boss is there... Something kind of interesting is fighting them for the first time, because as soon as they die, the final boss is summoned back to back with that fight. You can even have phantoms stay with you through both parts.

Also, Purseur's boss area has one. Also, a bonfire using the King's Ring near The Last Giant's area. That makes 5.

You may want to return there again after doing some things involving the King's Ring

yea, was going to do that.
i already got her with the orb. but now the -all npc in majula trophy- won't register in my game. guess it's ng+ for that.

Im level 75 and people are still one shotting me with pyromancy. I don't have enough attunement for a slot but at this point I should right? Pyromancy is fucking absurd.

Was just randomly playing tonight. wanting to scout out a new boss, and got matched up with sullichen in a game fighting the iron king!

aaaaaand I promptly locked walked right into the lava at the start of the fight lmao

You do around 1.2k damage or more with a pyro glove +10 and Flame Swathe at minimum int + faith of a Knight. It's easy to dodge tho. It's worth it if you can find the points for attunement to get 1-2 slots. As Knight that means 8 levels just for 1 slot. It might be more feasible to just equip the ring that gives you 1 to 3 slots depending on the ring version.

Also, Purseur's boss area has one. Also, a bonfire using the King's Ring near The Last Giant's area. That makes 5.

So the two you mentioned plus Black Gulch plus ancient dragon...where's the fifth?

Time to start driving the enemies on the way to ancient dragon to extinction. Love how they make you run the gauntlet to repeatedly die against the cheapest boss in the game.

So what's the requirement for triggering that fight? It happened for me automatically. Do you need the
mist heart
or something?

I destroy 2 of them at the start of the fight. I eventually die to the curse if i leave all 4 up to focus on the boss. Not even the ancient dragon gave me this much of a headache. Lol

Why not destroy all and just not get cursed?

3 memories (1 behind kings door, 1 near first turtle knight and 1 in Pursuers area), 1 Ancient Dragon and 1 Black Gulch = 5.

Dude, I'm at the exact same part considering the exact same thing. I just don't know if it's worth the time. They aren't hard to beat if you have patience and draw off one at a time, but it feels like such a waste of time. I'm assuming that if I just run for it they'll follow me in, since there's no fog gate this time, yes? Otherwise I would do it.

Just finished my maiden run with quite the beastly STR build at SL150.

Needless to say: Incredible game.

I've got 4 Soul Vessels, so I'm contemplating doing NG+ with a build at the complete opposite end of the spectrum. I was thinking of dual-wielding the Blacksteel and another katana; shield when needed.

Thoughts on that setup?

Cheers, Gaf.

Nah, first time I challenged the dragon they didn't follow me in, and a fog wall forms after that initial challenge. They're just such a pain in the ass to deal with that I had to end them - especially the two knights that guard the door. From put that door there specifically to prevent you from doing it quickly, it seems. Those two dicks and the two greatsword-wielding knights at the bottom of the stairs were the ones that gave me the most trouble when I tried to run. They're extinct now. Wondering if I should work on the dragon ninja assholes next or just start going for it.

Honestly, you're just getting the easy part out of the way. It's such a balls boss fight. One-hit kills and a shitload of health? It's borderline Borderlands-esque trolling from From (that sounds dumb).

Reeeeally wish I beat him on my first try. Reason being I was able to unload 4 Sunlight Spears into him with impunity before he started attacking, getting him to about 1/2 health. I may never get that close again!

Shitty thing is the fight is super easy to figure out, but impossible to reliably find success. I see a lot of theories floating around about the fight but I'm not convinced it isn't all just random. He projects like crazy so it's not like anything he does is surprising. If he flies up with his tail facing the ledge you already know you lost because there's nowhere else to go.

Needless to say if I manage to beat him it'll be the last time. He's just a chill dude minding his own business until I had to attack him for...what? That completionist mindset.
