PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4) | March 2014

Quiet you.
Do I even want to know what EU is getting (has gotten) for April?

--

Can anyone with Rayman Legends Vita confirm for me that the challenge servers are busted? I try to connect and all I get is a spinning yellow icon in the bottom right on a black screen.

It's not that peachy over here, too but that is mostly because I already own most of the stuff.
PS4: Mercenary Kings
PS3: PES 2014 and Sly 4
Vita: Hotline Miami and MotoGP 13

Would have bought Mercenary Kings anyway so that is good. Already own PES and I am more into Fifa on PS4 (or even PS3) and already played through Sly. As everyone should, I already own Hotline Miami as well.
Would have never bouggt MotoGP but I was always curious about it so it is one of those perfect PS+ games for someone like me who buys so many games.

Edit: buy Tearaway and Killzone Mercenary, they probably won't be on PS+ soon and you support the big Vita releases.

We're talking a series primarily great for its continuing story, not something like Final Fantasy with barely any continuity or Dark Souls where it's all vague and doesn't really matter much if you ever played the first game beforehand or not. This really seems more like skipping a book in A Song of Ice and Fire just so you can get the newer books quicker: I'd say what the hell the point is though you could probably still enjoy it, but it still comes off as a terrible compromise for the sake of cutting ahead.

I would've used Wheel of Time as my example book series, but holy crap it really does sound like you can safely skip some books in the middle.

Of course I want the full series, even if 3rd is steam only. But since xseed isn't make sure that they will go on with the kiseki, Im willing to compromise. And if there is a game that can be skipped of all those games, is Trails 3rd. The main plot of Trails is concluded on SC, and 3rd is for some loose ends, character development and works as a bridge to Zero no Kiseki.

Of course, it is only a pie in the sky wish. Chances are that we'll get stuck on SC.

I picked up Gurumin after hearing his glowing praise it got here on Gaf and I have to say, its a really charming game :).

It feels like what would happen if Zelda was mixed with a modernized control system of Mega Man Legends, and its quite impressive I must say. The controls are great, the characters are cool, and the gameplay is quite fun (surprised with how the game has a Sonic Adventure-esc homing attack with your drill). I don't know if the game is getting de-listed or not (as some of the post here are implying with game getting a price drop and its publisher not doing so great), but for 10 bucks its a fun Zelda-esc game so far :).

Also beat SteamWorld Dig a few hours ago and I will continue to echo my previous thoughts about the game; its a blast to play and it very absorbing to the player :). Its well worth its 10 dollar price point. Played more of Fez as well and I have to say, it really is a great game. The levels are really opening up to me at the point I'm at (in particular like the level where the thunder storms highlight hidden platforms), and the visuals/music continues to impress me with its stellar quality 16-bit charm.

As for the news about Aprils PS+ update, its nice that people who didn't get Stealth Inc, Velocity and Pixel Junk Monsters now have a chance to play those fun games. For the PS3 content, Arkam City is a wonderful game with tons of content, so its a great game for PS+ (seriously, these a unhealthy amount of collectables in this...almost 700 Ridder trophies/challenges...that's to much Rocksteady!).

Can anyone in here please boot Rayman Legends Vita and tell me if they can get the daily challenges to load?

Pretty please?

I get a "connecting" message when in the gallery, then the screen goes black, I have a yellow spinning thing in the bottom right, and it just sits there... I'm really wondering if it's me or the game in general...

How am I "plus begging"? Please tell me. I bought the service with my own money. I'm fully intending to use, and get the most out of, the service I paid for with my hard-earned money. It's that simple.

I'm 90% sure that Teraway will be in just two months at E3 or the "yearly refresh" for Vita Plus. That or Little Big Planet (which I also want).

Did Sony, or wherever you bought your PS Plus, guarantee you that you'll get Tearaway or LBP for Instant Game Collection?

I don't even mind people who only bought a Vita solely for the PS Plus games they have, but it's ridiculous when there are those that seems to have this magical schedule of which game they want should be on PS+.

How are the camera controls on gurumin?

And I second the love for next month's PS+

My roommate and I have been playing a lot of Borderlands 2 lately. I really hope the Vita port turns out well.

Same here. Mainly because I've committed myself to buying it even if it's a shitty port, but also because the thought of a fully-realized portable Borderlands sounds amazing to me. I don't have any experience with 2 outside of fooling around with it on my friend's PC, but I must have sunk more then a hundred hours into the first.

Hey, I just checked and I have the same issue.

I loved the concept of Borderlands, but I couldn't really get into the first game for some reason. BL2 feels much better to me.

Lilith > Maya though.

fucking earthquake fucked up my chain in PDf.
Lolwut?

How are the camera controls on gurumin?

And I second the love for next month's PS+

They are controlled with the L/R buttons (which radioactively make the camera work with the right stick via mappable control) and they also function as the lock on (though the lock on is a bit unresponsive at times :().

PS+ next month is indeed awesome :).

Are we both from SoCal? I felt one too at around the same time and I was terrified for a second or two before realizing it wasn't too big lol

Yeah, I live like 10 mins away from you man...

On bike

Where you the one that lived near general hospital? one of the gaffers I sent vita games to was like real close and Im not sure if it was you or someone else.

One of us, one of us. The music is heavily underrated. You used to be able to get them for free off of mastiff's website but the old site is dead. :(

For some reason I was under the impression that you lived on the East Coast. What do you mean "General Hospital"? You sent me Gravity Rush. What town do you live in if you don't mind me asking?

You should have biked it to my house

Montecito Heights.

Edit: Nevermind, got you mixed up with someone else. You're a bit farther away than me. I sent both games out at the same time so I got you confused.

115°F+ highs are fun

edit: Read that wrong :lol Thought you were complaining about the heat

I'd rather have your guys heat than what we get here in chicago.

i try find an excuse to fly down there every summer for two weeks to escape the humidity up nonsense here.

even if it means dealing with yo shitty 405s, 5, 15, etc.. interstates.

Hey guys, what's the way to see patch notes from PS4's notifications menu?
I thought it used to be pressing the touch pad or the options button, but can't find it anywhere and Google's no help either.

So what's with the Project Miku tutorial being impossible? I miss 2 and get lousy but I can beat songs just fine.

What? How is it impossible?

I'm having a bit of a trouble with the game myself. I can probably beat extreme song pretty easily now except for one thing that's stopping me. There are these notes that come tightly packed together and in many successions. My hands can't keep pressing them too fast. I know you have to use your other hand on the d-pad but I'm too used to only using the face buttons. I'm thinking going back to easy and using my left hand exclusively until I get to extreme again.

Had a family friend over after dinner last night, and he had his 3 and a half year old son with him. He brought his 2ds with Mario kart, my girlfriend showed off her 3ds xl animal crossing edition with animal crossing, and I could not let this stand! I ran off and grabbed my vita, and he loved it, literally dropping his 2ds on the floor. He particularly liked how you could go from game to game so quickly, what with the short attention span and all...

First game I showed him was Spelunky, wanted to see how he did, and funnily enough he did get past the first tutorial level. He did die immediately after and proclaimed "this games hard!", and I laughed agreeing. He was also adamant at playing Lone Survivor, I kept telling him it was to scary for him; I didn't want to scar the kid. He asked to play Spelunky again after crashing a lot in Most Wanted, cried when he had to go and I got a text later saying he asked if he could have a sleepover haha

I guess I was surprised at how much he liked the vita, but then again it is pretty sweet. It's rare to see a vita where I live, so maybe its just the fact THERE IS NO VITA MARKETING so people just don't know it exists, unlike Nintendo, which at least has some commercials...ugh, c'mon Sony, while I believe this thing should sell itself, it obviously isn't, you need to at least try.

I was thinking of taking Vita with me at college one of those days.

But it would be dangerous for it :(

Ok so the things you just quoted from me don't even qualify as "plus begging" and neither is helping your claims. You are confusing hoping and wishing with begging. If I said "Sony, I subscribed to plus and if you don't do as I say I'm going to throw this $162 vita I just got into a fire pit for I am entitled to these games" then I would be begging, if not demanding. Now you are right that alot of GAF in the plus update thread seem to feel entitled for paying for the plus service, I am not. I don't like to be generalized and put under a blanket statement ( "Oh a section of GAF thinks they are entitled to all these free games with plus so this guy must be too"), do you? Alot of people say they will quit plus or worse if they don't get what they want. In what you quoted from me, have I? I would LIKE Little Big Planet or Tearaway to be announced at E3 for the IGC and it would make more sense given Sony's prior strategy of releasing plus games (wait 6 + months, etc). Will I die or go into a frenzy if it doesn't happen? NO. It's really no sweat off my back. I was just stating "I just bought a $162 item, E3 is only two months away and I have a vita backlog already, I think I'm going to wait to see the game reveals at E3 before spending any more money on this product just yet and I'm thinking LBP and Tearaway, games I want, might be announced for plus soon." That is me putting into power my freedom of choice as a consumer and being, I think, very smart with my money. Don't take away my freedom, please, I don't take away yours.

Anyone want to help a Vitabro out cause it's Friday and I have a few drinks in me but I don't think I ever demanded LBP and Tearaway be in the IGC in the posts he quoted from me. But maybe I'm wrong? Or maybe I'm trying to find logic in a GAF thread....that might be my mistake.

Don't worry bro. Some people don't even acknowledge my existence until I've played Tearaway. xD

My Vita's home is the right pocket of my coat, I play every day on the subway. You should definitely consider bringing it

At first I was scared of getting my vita out of my house, but now that Im finishing college Im almost all day there and my vita is the greatest companion ever!
