its like a 1 hit k.o and basically if you are close to them it will hit you, not like you can just roll away. so if you cant one hit kill them you just die. should the strat be to backstab them during animation?
It's slow enough that you can roll out of range. Nowhere near as bad as a offhand forbidden sun or GRS, or a wrath of the gods from a host's sunbro friend.
I guess No-Man's Wharf is an unpopular spot? Spent like 20 mins trying to get a summon sign outside the boss room, to no avail. Was carrying a bunch of souls and with no partner to fight with, I cut my losses and Ancient Feathered outta there.

You can just safely roll away, I've never actually been hit by a firestorm.
However if you are using a firestorm, you can increase your chances of hitting someone by performing it right after a backstab or riposte. I got a kill once using this method, but even then my opponent had enough time to get up and swing once. He only missed because my character was crouching and he whiffed.

Well I hope you weren't looking for summon signs next to the boss fog. Because you can't drop a summon sign on the boat (well, technically you can, but it will just show up on the dock next to the boat instead).
I never gave much of a damn about trophies/achievements because it seemed they usually required that or at least some obsessive complitionism. Which is fine, they're meant more for people who really like a game and want to go all out, though this is probably the most reasonable the Souls games have ever been. I actually want to try and achieve it, whereas the other ones just come off as grinding nightmares to some extent, especially Demon's.

It was the same for the first Dark Souls, not that that excuses it.
I'm actually fine with it when it comes to this series, as it keeps me motivated to continue playing with the same character and seeing what + playthroughs have to offer.
Syan's Halberd has a sick movement set and is maxed out at 330 damage at a d/a scaling.
It receives still less scaling then the Black Knight Halberd, who scales slightly better at a c/b scaling for whatever reason despite having 30str/40dex. Dex scaling in general really sucks it seems. You can enchant the Halberd, but I think it'll still get out damaged by the BKH. However the movement set is far superior. R1 -> R1 is a double thrust, kinda like Spears.

That won't work because you are no longer invincible during the animation. I was fighting a guy in the Blood bros arena, it was this really narrow corridor with nowhere to dodge. Dude casts Firestorm, I roll-BS him, but took massive damage doing so. -_-
The downgrade in graphics doesn't really bother me much, the game still looks great, but some of the repeating textures are pretty awful. Hopefully we can fix this on PC.
not that I know of...i got the armour as a drop and suspect the other pieces would drop also, but no guarantee.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Ok guys 2 days of farming and I got the berserker blade...it wont be worth it...but thankful that page has been turned all the same! I would have rather got the headpiece instead of the armour, but got that also.
As a melee build with sweeping attacks, I found that
once he splits, the fight is over. Just run around in a circle until they group up and run in unlocked and hit them both for massive amounts of damage. Even if you don't have sweeping attacks, just being unlocked gives you a lot more freedom in movement and what angles you can attack from for any melee weapon.
For a caster, I can't imagine him being very hard at all.
Learning to play unlocked helps with a lot of bosses and enemies.
. I'm 0 - 40. Any suggestions would be great. I can do decent damage with my lightning bolt spells, but I don't really survive long enough to use more than a few.

You don't have to be human for that content, you literally have to spend effigies. I ran out on NG and gave up, on NG+ I've got 60+ effigies so far though so maybe this playthrough.

As a faith/dex build with sunlight spear, it took a couple tries, but was ridiculously easy after learning all the attack patterns. Took 6 sunlight spears I think. Melee build would definitely be tougher. Basically,
i had it's health down to 50%, and then it started to split, I then hit it 3 times with sunlight spear before it could even get an attack off and it died.
honestly, if you're wasting so many effigies on that boss, it would be more prudent just to use a soul vessel to respec to a sorcerer or use an upgraded pyroglove with flameswathe and the rest.
So for those who want to ensure they get invaded in NG+ make sure you've got sufficient sin. I can't go 10 minutes without an asshole arbiter phantom showing up. It has increased the tension a LOT for me.

I have multiple captain gear, but not sure if I have completed the set. I think I did, but that is because I've been wearing jesters hat or travellers hat since it became available to me. I only take those things off during boss fights lol.
Am I missing other methods of getting humanity? I am down to just 1 effigy left and I'm already at 50% health, so I'm really reluctant to risk using it. I think I am still fairly early in the game as I've only defeated 4 bosses (in my world). Tried to solo the bosses at
Belfry Luna and Sinner's Rise
to no avail because of the damn health limitation. I'm SL 65 already and most people I come across in PVP seem to have way better gear in comparison.
I've killed many of the dogs in Lost Bastille to extinction and don't remember getting many effigies, if any at all. I have been helping people co-op bosses dozens of times and I have not gotten any restoration of my humanity since helping people with the
Last Giant and the Pursuer
. I've read that it apparently works when someone in your covenant summons you. If that's true, then what covenants are most people in? I joined the Rat King Covenant.
I just feel that its bullshit that effigies are so limited in supply, so you can get stuck with 50% health, and there aren't any other feasible ways to restore your humanity (until some shrine later in the game). You should be able to get humanity from helping someone defeat a boss or killing someone in PVP like in Dark Souls 1... Or they should have included a damn ring early in the game like in Demon's Souls that limits health loss from death to 25% (rather than 50%), which would be fair since you would have to sacrifice a ring slot.

There is. Go to Heide's Tower of Flame. Right before the Old Dragonslayer boss there is a Ring of Binding in a chest, which limits health loss from death to 25%. You can get this ring whenever you want, in 10 minutes from the first time you get to Majula if you want.

Ok, I know where that place is, but it seemed like a higher level area with all the giant guys. Made it to a boss once and died. I will try going that way again...

Well, I just don't have enough health to even beat this
Dragonrider
guy... his halberd makes it incredibly difficult to get far enough away to heal or regain stamina. One hit from him leaves me at like 10-20% health and I can't block his attacks either.
You don't need to beat him to gain the ring. There is another boss in the area you can access without beating Dragonrider, the ring is right before that boss.

Are you using your small white soapstone? Maybe that one doesn't change depending on your covenant. I was getting sunlight medals just fine in the heirs of the sun covenant with the regular soapstone.
