What's the absolute worst game you paid money for in the 7th generation?

In other words 360, PS3, and Wii. Let's also include the DS and PSP, as well as PC games from 2005-2013.

What was the biggest stinker that you willingly exchanged money for?

For me, I think it has to be this:

It was at the launch of the Wii, there wasn't much to choose from, and this is back when everyone was still under the impression that Wii games would look as good as or better than on Xbox. Well, that bubble was burst as soon as I turned this pile of shit on for the first time. Legitimately looked like an early PS2 game and had some of the worst motion controls for the system. This is the modern equivalent of those bootleg Taiwanese Mario games for the Mega Drive or whatever. I paid $50 for this game.

Runners up would include Command & Conquer 4 and Duke Nukem Forever. I paid full price for those too.

Call of Juarez and Quantum of Solace. Bought them in a very barren February in 2009. Shoulda just replayed Dead Space and Mirrors Edge

Madden, all of them

I don't know why I got so many.

2007 sucked, so I skipped 08 and got 09, it sucked, skipped 10, got 11, it sucked, skipped 12 got 13 but only for the Amazon deal for the NFL Sunday Ticket.

That franchise is dead to me. IF they offer a Sunday Ticket deal I will get it again, and then promptly go to Gamestop and sell it to them.

Mass Effect 2 (didn't like it at all and ran like shit) or Skyrim PS3 (ran like shit). Luckily thanks to gaf most of what I buy isn't ever truly bad, just stuff where I probably shouldn't have got on the hype train.

Probably a game I still haven't played yet (bought used for like $3):

Heh, same here. PS3.

I did attempt to play it though; got through 2 or 3 hours. It was absolutely horrendous. When I heard Sawyer's voice actor I almost cried in pain.

That's the only game where I really gambled though... big LOST fan.

After that, Ass Creed III. An incoherent mess of a game... a huge waste of talent and money. Also one of the biggest deltas between expectation and reality. It was supposed to be the Big Bad Numbered Sequel that pushed the series forward. NOPE.

I am normally more or less in agreement with reviewers, plus or minus half a letter grade. The only cases where I thought the press got it way, way, way, way seriously wrong were Ass Creed III and GTA IV. However, GTA IV was still a fairly enjoyable game, even if I stopped short of finishing it. AC III was actually bad -- shouldn't-have-been-released bad..

La Noire. I didn't even actively hate the game and there's lots of things to like about it, but it was still disappointing in the long run.

Myst is fine, this port wasn't. Somehow, apparently the 3DS port of the game is even worse.

I also spent actual money on X-Blades. Not all that much money mind you and I did get other games with it, but I still have X-Blades.

EDIT: Oh, and I also accidentally bought Secrets of the Magic Crystals. It might not be a bad game I don't know, I'm too embarrassed to download it and actually give it a try.

Probably El Shaddai. It wasn't a complete waste of money (the OST was awesome) but I usually think over my purchases pretty thoroughly and I ended up buying it on a whim after hearing people on GAF hype it up.

I was very unimpressed.

Yes. This is the worst game I bought. I don't buy bad games. But this is the worst I have. Or Bionic Commando. But I actually had fun with that. Well, this is just retail. Maybe if I looked at digital I'd find something worse.

This garbage

Out of my collection this is the game I hate the most and I paid $60 for it purely based on hype. It was my first GTA game and god it's so fucking boring. I gave it a shot, twice, but I just couldn't keep going. Luckily GTAV is amazing and it restored my faith in the franchise.

I can't decide between Fable 3 and Skyrim.

Edit: oh yeah fuck army of two. I bought that one for 5 dollars and wished I had bought a burger instead.

Kane and Lynch 1 for the PS3. Paid full price for it and Uncharted at the same. It was so terrible (some of the bugs were hilarious though,) I took a pretty lengthy break from console games and didn't finish either for nearly six months.

I'm sorry GAF, I tried to like it. Bought it full price, could never get beyond the first few hours without getting fed up with how poorly it treats new players to the series.

I don't buy a lot of bad games, I wait for reviews, which make this one hurt as it was so highly reviewed. Its not a bad game, I just can't get into far enough to enjoy myself.

As far as full price day one(ish) purchases:

Granted I like playing it now, but only to break it. Never have been able to finish the whole damn thing, though.

o_o wait whut?

I loved rage, one of the only modern day shooters I felt worthy of completing. Yeah I have no clue what the story was about, it was forgettable, but the AI or at least fighting the enemies was amazing and unparalleled in any other fps to date.

Here and there I see a lot of hate for Rage, but besides bad story and very buggy start the game was a lot of fun.
