The closest I could see is Lark from Pilotwings 64 having a mention somewhere, but not -the- Nester.
I do see a special mention to Yamauchi somewhere in the credits though, no more fitting game than this one.

An April Direct isn't out of the question, certainly. Though I wouldn't expect anything major from it. They'll save it for the yearly briefing, if anything. And even then, they'll save anything huge for E3.

Last year's megaton directs, while likely not happening again, should shake the notion that Nintendo is saving everything that's huge for E3.

But it does work =p All of my hypes (probabilities) exist in a non-physical space, but can be qualitatively determined. They all lie in superposition and together guarantee that I'll have an expectation. Once the PotD lands, my hypes will collpase into a single one, and from that I will have an expectation that was either met or shattered.

But, considering how quiet the January Direct was this year, and how close E3 is, I think they will save a lot for then.

Yeah I see what you're saying. I would've pinned the lack of massive announcements lately (Steel Divers: Sub Wars and such are still big announcements, but not megaton-big) to the development cycle of the games they need. Most of those big-name announcements last year came along with substantial footage and details and a release date that wasn't so far off; but, in the case of the 3ds this all happened after the system's drought of games, when Zelda, Mario and Luigi Dream Team, and such were well-underway in terms of development.

It's one thing, and a reasonable thing at that, to doubt pics' legitimacy. It's another to deny that there's even a chance of the pics being real when evidence points to them having to be elaborate fakes to not be real.
