Figure GAF |OT| Where has all of my money gone?

I love gunbuster but do any of the new releases have the original ending intact?
Every time I look them up none of them seem to do the color switch in the final episode.

Are you insinuating that there's version without the black and white last episode? I wasn't aware.

In terms of which version to buy...that's tough. The US DVD has it intact but the only way to watch this on Blu-ray outside of Japan is through the Gattai film release which is a shorted down version.That's only 95 mins and it a theatrical version while the show really has a run-time of 190 minutes. I own the Japanese Blu-ray but it has no subs but it's beautiful.

That wouldn't even be possible.
The episode was animated in black and white except for the closing moments. As far as I know, both the Gattai movie and DVD OVA release both handled the transition as it was originally done.

Yeah that's what I was thinking. When you look for the ending on YouTube a lot of them have
both Gunbuster and Diebuster endings edited together for obvious reasons
so maybe that's what the confusion is?

I'll have to look into the us dvd release again. there is a least one version where the
entire episode is black and white the whole way without it turning to color when the earth welcomes home.

either that are I'm just really unlucky when it comes to looking for gunbuster online.

Nice! I have all of those except the Bome Noriko and SRC Gurren Lagann. I've got the Bome Nono though and a whole bunch of other stuff. We should compare collections, no?

Yeah I wouldn't mind comparing. I've got a lot of pending orders so I might be getting more soon.

My collection is pretty puny but it's growing fast I'd say. I'm having bad luck with the Bome Nono figure. I bought it once, days later I was told it was out of stock. Got one on eBay, payment won't go through. Found another, my Internet froze 15 seconds before the auction ended. The Gods don't want me to own this figure. I saw a Soul of chogokin gunbuster go for like £50 on eBay. It was listed as junk but looked fine. I was so pissed I missed out. Holy grail right there.

Yeah the Bome Nono is pretty great, I managed to pick it up a few years ago at a local comic shop for 40 bucks. I could never figure out how to switch the arms, but the big feature is the hair and scarf. Easily one of the best sculpted figures I've ever seen.
I would kill to get an SOC Gunbuster, the lowest I've ever seen it was for around $300 without shipping. I dream of the day when I'll finally have it in my possession.
 
Ehhhhhh I sorta broke my Aoba yesterday when I was cleaning my room ): It was totally my own fault: I had left him and a number of figs on the table when I was dusting them, I didn't arrange them back immediately and decided to tackle others parts of my room first. Then at one point I returned back to the table to reach for a book which was in the far corner (wanted to put the book by my bedside). As I was leaning over I knew I was putting pressure up against something, but I didn't take notice of what it was at all until I heard something snap and hit the table - I look down and see that one of the details from the figure had snapped off ):

It's not too terrible, I'm sure with a bit of glue this should be seamlessly fixable, it's just pathetic how I was literally telling myself while dusting the figure before the incident that I've had this guy for almost a year now, and I've managed to keep him in perfect shape despite me being the biggest klutz in the world. Pffft.

Hmm being a Heaven's Lost Property fan I am tempted to order this but I don't know. Something about her is off to me, mainly the hair.

So I email HLJ to see what's taking so long shipping Dark Elf and got a reply back. Apparently they were in the process of packing my order when...they found out the figure wasn't even in stock.

I'm trying to keep my display space in mind too...had to move some stuff around to accommodate my new stuff, but I won't be able to keep that up forever. I really have to reorganize what and how I'm displaying all of my collectibles.

Speaking of SkyTube, there's a Sonico they make that I'd be willing to get if I can find her pre-owned at some point.

I'm getting it, so I'll tell you how it is in June. It's a variant of a previous release so there's plenty of pictures out there of her. Her hair looks fine to me.

So SkyTube is a decent company?

I am wondering if my issue with it as well is all based on the pictures taken. They all look rather soft, which could have just been the photographer. Looking at the the listing of the other version on AmiAmi, it looks a hell of a lot better to me.

I'm going to be eternally trolled by bathtime sonico. Over 20k for one in decent condition when I have money, then they drop in price when I don't.

Skytube is AlphaMax's ecchi line. I think they've had a really great run lately with high quality figures, particularly their Tony Taka stuff.

Damn, my wallet screamed bloody murder a few minutes ago. Danny Choo posted about a 30Millions USD investment in her Dollmination project and gave release dates and prices for both versions, with the auto doll being 900$. I had already started budget negotiations with myself when I realised it was April 1st in Japan.


Still want one though, hurry it up Danny!

Ha that was literally my exact reaction when I got the email. Luckily I found her on Big Bad Toy Store. Don't know why I didn't think to try them earlier. A little more expensive than others but I figure she'll be going for crazy high prices in the near future.
