My theory is- it actually kinda looks like when Luigi activates his Final Smash, a light shines down on his opponent(s), DK in this image, and stuns them. Maybe then he could go up to any of the stunned opponents and suck them into his vacuum.

The beam of light is part of the stage.

Sorry, I went to bed before I could see your rebuttals. Here's what I have to say.

1. Path of least resistance doesn't work because there's more elements that go into play than just the acquisition of the pictures for something under NDA like this. It's not as simple as saying "some guy in Japan took pictures of a game in development" doesn't work because there's too many other factors going on.
2. Palutena's face is noticably off in the hoaxes compared to other KI:U characters. Pit and Phopshora are faithful recreations of their KI:U artwork, Palutena is not.
3. Mario in the picture has bizarre inconsistencies with his outline. Pedantic sure, but it's inconsistent in thickness and shade compared to even Palutena in the same image.

Proof? Of course not, I'm not developing the game or have any hand in it at all. I can say that should be far too much inconsistency in the image based on what we've seen or known to say without reasonable doubt that they can be real.

Either way this is one of those conversations that devolves into a circlejerk. BGBW posted a lot of insightful material on the subject before that ought to cast significant doubt on the subject, but that gets willfully ignored for these silly hashtag crusades. But whatever, I'll eat crow if it's real and stay mum on it if it's not. I'm just really tired of that dumb hashtag.

1 and 3 aren't things I can really argue against. 2 is a valid argument as well, although I wouldn't put past it past Sakurai to make that sort of change. I mean, this is the guy who had Pit completely redesigned, TP Zelda's hair dyed brown, and Solid Snake given a full beard. Given how much clout Sakurai has over not only this particular character, but over the Smash Bros. series, one of Nintendo's most high-profile series, changing Palutena's face isn't that out there for him.

My problem was that everyone else here, whichever bandwagon they're on, was using term such as "probably," "possibly," "I think," etc. You're the only I've seen consistently talk about the leak in absolute terms. If you don't know for sure, don't phrase it like you know for sure.

You forgot to mention that Palutena's shield in the "leak" lacks the strap that the original model has.

This, on the other hand, seems outright trivial.

Back to the PotD, nice. I was wondering if Sakurai would ever implement the Poltergust. I wonder how it works.

It's been treated as part of the Super Mario Bros. franchise up to now, I don't see any reason to change it.

It's great seeing Luigi finally get his Poltergust and to see some of the poorer Final Smashes changed.

I wish FLUDD was dropped from Mario's move set just because it was so useless and unfun to use. I'm sure it was used in one of the Smash 4 trailers and looked just as boring. I kinda wanted him to get his tornado back but for it to look or function like his spin in the Galaxy series.

Niiiiiiice. Also, I'm kinda hoping Sakurai is being deceptive here. As in, leading people to believe it will suck things in... when really, Luigi's final smash will release a horde of terrifying invincible ghosts that explode across the stage. I don't mean to rain on the parade of any pac-lovers out there, but if he's in, I'm sad. I really dont want him at all. I think he's bland and boring, and while a gaming icon, I don't think he's anything special. That's just my opinion, so hate me if you want, but I really really don't want him in. If anyone can make him work, though, it's sakurai and team, but I still think he's a lame character and I don't want him.
