This is something that many people in the FGC have, and make them unlikeable to me (Chris G and Neo pretty much 24/7 Ricky Ortiz on twitter after a loss) Sanford and CJ Showstopper don't count cuz they're hilarious (and black Kappa)


You could have just asked for the reasons why I think NCR is a major and UFGT isn't if UFGT is "bigger"?

For me, I don't weigh attendees as high as I do difficulty of competition (which generally leads to hype....which leads to me/the stream being entertained).I only watch about SF and Marvel, so thats what I'll focus on

You can't tell me that some of the people who made top 16 for Marvel and SF at UFGT last year would do equally well at NCR (to use your example). In addition, at least for memorable moments, NCR was hype as fuck (KBR beating Champ, Senor Taxi, the whole top 8 of marvel). I literally remember nothing from UFGT last year other than that a bunch of mid-tier players did well (was the "what are you standing up for" last year or the year before). This is no shots at the tournament because UFGT is generally a very entertaining stream (especially 2012) and I have fun watching it.

Seriously, I hope UFGT is succesful......and you to stop being so sensitive lol


PS: I'm a nobody in this scene. I have no desire to be anybody in the FGC. When I first started watching streams in 2011, I was hooked. At the time, I was a board member for a multi-million dollar non-profit. I saw an oppurtunity for sponsorship. I contacted some leaders in my local community and got them on board initially. I literally had all the other board members ready to pass the motion for a five-figure sponsorship. All the FGC people had to do was a simple task (sign a notice saying that there was enough interest), and they couldn't even get that done. Since then, I've only attended a single FGC event. For me, this shit is entertainment, first and foremost. Maybe I'll rethink this after I finish my MBA and have millions

Ketchup is only good because you can apply it in copious amounts before it becomes "too much." Too much mayo/mustard/anything else and you end up overpowering the taste of whatever you're eating.

Also, no strong allegiance to any particular condiments, personally.
 
Ketchup is my preferred condiment, Mayo is something I neither love nor hate, BBQ sauce is okay in certain situations, and Mustard can fuck off.

That's my take on condiments.

That doesn't actually work. SF4 wants three inputs for a DP - any forward, any down, any forward. It's why f, df, f works, why df, d, df mashing works, it's why 360's turn into DPs. People just say double df is the shortcut because their stick inputs are not clean. A df button is clean.

It's kinda how people think f~qcf = DP and hcb~f is the DP "longcut" in KOF13 when the game's DP registration is probably just: [f], [d] [df OR f] and qcf~f and hcb~f just happen to fulfill the f~d~f variation.

now that gundam build fighters is done and is kind of fighting game related. Tier list anybody? Most op is build strike. Next I would say
master asia
. Not sure about the others. Astray I say is theoretical op if the skills are used right.

Also are they going to put the new models in exvs as dlc?

Being a board member on a non profit multi million dollar company is the new "I have a PhD".

Also your entire criteria for what is a major and what isn't is "high level" competition in two games and "hype" moments. There is no objective criteria here. Generally speaking, tournaments with high attendance have high level of play. By your criteria, Capcom Cup was a major fighting game tournament despite being a tournament for just 3 games and not being actually "open" (for UMVC3 it definitely was not open).

I don't know about Gundam tier list but the finale gave me the FEELS that I was NOT ready for. Best Gundam series in a long ass time, so glad I followed FGW anime recommendation on this.

Build Strike
Cosmos (the Gundam that Iori pulls out right at the end of the finale for the next tournament)
is probably god tier. Hyper Build Knuckle is OP as hell.

Well, for Full Boost we know all the on-disc DLC and there's no GBF. It's possible they might do more DLC down the road but that would likely be preview units from Maxi Boost if they follow the pattern from vanilla. There's no GBF suits in MB yet, but that just came out and will add a lot of new suits over time. So we're all hoping for GBF but you never know.

GBF tier lists are fun. I mean
Takeshi's modified RX-78, Chinan's Master and Ral's Gouf
are ridiculously strong. Leaving them out:

S tier: Star Build Strike, Exia Amazing, Wing Fenice Renascita
A tier: Sengoku Astray (it loses hard to any suit with ballistic weapons), Crossbone Mao, F91 Imagine, Kampfer Amazing, Miss Sazabi
B tier: Gundam X Mao, Quebeley Papillon
C tier: GM Sniper K9, Beargguy III

Is Maxi Boost coming to consoles?
 
Streams encompass a tiny fraction of what happens at a major, and the events are geared toward the people actually attending to begin with. A lot of hard work is made into putting out quality streams, but it's not something you judge events by.
