What the shit, I would actually buy this.
I don't like it that much, feels like the transition between 1st season Metabee and 2nd season Metabee, they added so much shit that wasn't needed and ruined the overall design of the character, same applies for X here in my case.

Now with that out of the way, you know the next time they make a Mega Man X game (inb4 lol never) that's more modern and not a revision of a classic or a reboot (think X9 and not MHX) they'll probably want to redo X's design.
Zero and Axl both feature an appropriate amount of visual flair and color. X's standard armor is way too simple nowadays. It fits him at first because he's the original Reploid, but I think to Capcom's credit they knew they should spice up X's design and decided to move forward in X8 and Command Mission.
To that end, this design is pretty good. It's a little over-done on the lines and lights, but the basic idea is great.

Yeah, it isn't a bad design. I would like to see the Command Mission energy scarf in a future X design, though. That was a cool addition.
The good news is that there is precedent for Capcom Unity April Fools Day fake products actually becoming real. There was a soundtrack CD some time back that was announced as an April Fools Joke, but re-appeared with more reasonable pricing details a few days later. So this might actually be a real product they are using to make a quick joke with first.
