What level are you guys in NG+? How much co-op/pvp are you seeing?

SL 150. Constantly able to invade within seconds. I get summoned within a minute or so at the usual spots. (
Smelter, Velstadt, Sinner, Watcher/Defender
)

Soul Memory is tossed out the window in NG+, and all NG+ modes can play with each other. I don't think anyone has done a ton of testing but the level limits should be +/- SL*.1 + 10

I've only gotten 1 invasion in NG+, but been in plenty of co-ops where the host was invaded by red spirits or for being a dirty sinners. The sinners really get invaded a LOT in NG+. One guy I was with got invaded 3 times by the Blue Sentinels in like 10 minutes. lol

Yeah, if you want to be invaded you should kill as many NPCs as possible. It might also be possible to just hit them for it to count as well.

Edit: Another note: BoB invades in the zone you use the cracked eye orb from. Blue sentinels can use a blue eye orb from anywhere and invade anywhere. (ex. Use cracked blue eye orb in Forest of Fallen Giants and invade someone who's in Black Gulch)

Hahah, so good.

I can confirm that soul memory either widely exapnds in NG+ or is tossed out. My 2m soul memory NG+ friend summoned my 10m soul memory NG++ character last night.

Maybe they expect hardcore fans to stick around for NG+ so no more limits.

I keep reading about "soul memory" here. Could someone briefly explain what that is exactly?

In the player status menu, it's the number in the top right of the screen. It represents how many souls you've accumulated regardless of if you've spent them or not.

It is used to calculate what players you can play with in multiplayer, although this limitation seems to be loosened up significantly in NG+.

Additionally you can also get to
Drangleic Castle
in NG if your soul memory is over 1 million, even if you haven't lit the primal bonfires.

I've been a sinner my whole time through NG+ and only got invaded for the first time last night, while fighting two NPC red phantoms at the time - so I got ganked in about 3 seconds. Was excited it finally happened, but terrible timing.

Well, my take on it is that they put it soul memory to prevent twinks from destroying fresh players/low SL players. If you're in NG+, you're basically on a level playing field at that point. You've had the same opportunity to farm stuff out before moving onto NG+.

Yea, I agree.

I think that makes perfect sense, a really smart way to handle it. Looks like all that uproar about soul memory at first was for naught, From got it covered.

Remember what day it is today, right?

Is it plz can be real?

It's not a perfect system though. It has the side effect of making the blue sentinels and covenant of the meek nearly useless in NG, as well as the brotherhood of blood. I dislike how rare invasions are in NG. And if you're in NG+, why would you join the covenant of the meek at that point?

What's this little ladder miniature I got from ladder-man good for?
You can trade it to someone as proof that you
killed him without actually doing so.

That makes sense. By NG+, you likely know what your doing. And if you likely did all the optional bosses/etc in NG, you'd likely have decent stuff to start NG+ in.

Though they should really fix it in NG. As it's too limiting there.

It's useful for a quest later on. Spoiler if you want to know who/which one.
Don't release Navlaan from his cell and speak to him while hollow. He'll send you on a bunch of assassination quests. You don't actually need to assassinate anyone, just get some items from them.

Its for a quest for a guy in
aldia keep, you have to release him first so when you enter the mansion look for a lever and pull it

I'm pretty sure that's wrong,
If you release him, you can't do the quest
OH I GET IT NOW, you're an awful awful person.

don't listen to the these liars just
pull the lever,
it will make your Dark souls 2 experience even more memorable trust me.

It's way more likely you just can't riposte these guys. That's nothing new in Souls games.

You can hit them with regular weapons when they're down atleast, the hitboxes with your fists (and with the game in general) are super wonky.

I constantly whiff against big enemies because their collision box doesn't allow me to get close enough to reach their hitbox with my fists. It's just dumb.

Most big enemies can't be parried into a knockdown but if you parry their attacks you just don't take any damage. It feels somewhat janky but atleast it works. These guys have a knockdown state but I can't hit them when they're down because of their gigantic collision box.

Questionable stuff.

He worked on it in some respect as supervisor, but yeah, there's no way that's real, especially as it links to the 1.0.3 patch notes that we've already known about for a few days.

Miyazaki was explicit in not making an easy mode for his games to the point he flat out lied to Sony when making Demon Souls.
I can't see him talking about "fan feedback" on difficulty very seriously.

...yeah, I did that knowing what he'll do, but I didn't speak to him first.
Can I still do his assassination quests?
I tried talking to him afterwards, but he just gives a few cryptic remarks & laughs.

I spoke with him hollow & un-hollow.

Finally decided to go NG+ after 70+ hours and doing everything I could possibly do in NG.
I was not expecting all those enemies right at the beginning of Things Betwixt. In retrospect, I suppose I should've saw that coming since I used Bonfire Ascetics in many areas and knew about new enemies spawning in various places.

I really hope they eventually patch this auto disconnect you get when your host touches a boss fog gate.

The amount of times I've clearly killed the host and not got a victory for it...

That's how it's always worked. You can escape an invasion by choosing to fight a boss instead.

So I totally avoided Doors
of Pharros
area after I tried to fought the
Rat Boss
which instant kills me everytime is there something interesting in that area?

I still kill the host though, it let's me hit them as they're entering a fog gate.

They're dying either way, the auto-disconnect is just stealing a victory from me...

now be ready for enemies and bosses in the areas where you used bonfire ascetics to be at NG++ difficulty :)

I'm in the woods right past the
foggy area
and this is my SHIT JUST GOT REAL moment of Dark Souls 2. Maybe I'm not high enough level, but I am getting my ass stomped.

And to add insult to injury I sun bro with a guy to kill the boss and I die as the host lands the killing blow on the bitch. No souls for me.
