3DS Streetpass Experiences

Sigh, made my first earnest attempt at arcade mode in Mii Force. Died on stage 4-3 with only one of 10 left in reserve. I even bothered to rehire Tom and Aonuma, just to lose Tom on stage 1-2 (Aonuma was the very last one to go in the end). I might just get a friend to clear this one for me, I'm not really up for trying again anytime soon.

It's not that bad if you use light green weapons. Took me 4 attempts.

Edit: Maybe 5.

I used to streetpass with someone in my apartment building every couple days. After a while we started using it for little messages. This goes on for 8 months, but I never find out which apartment it is. A couple weeks ago, I got the message "moving soon" from him. A week later, the couple in the bottom unit is loading up a truck and taking off.

Two new neighbors moved in the building. One is an old couple. The other is an asshole who plays his music loud as fuck every night and makes the stairwell smell like cigarettes every time he uses his dryer.

I will likely never beat Find Me again. This sucks.

The consensus best three to start with are 1 light blue and 2 light green. In order to win, I would just buy that set-up using coins and fill the other slots with randoms.

Once you have that you will be in really good shape to take on entire game. The other Miis will just be icing on the cake as they power up your main weapons and provide some versatility if you want to swap them in on specific levels.

What Chopper said.

I was surprised at how quickly I improved once I took that strategy. It only took me ~4-5 tries as well. If memory serves, I only got to somewhere in level 3 on my penultimate run and then won without losing a single Mii on my next attempt.

If you can make it to halfway through the game without dying, your accumulation of Miis will have a snowballing effect and you will have an ever-easier time with it as you go. The key is just having the right set-up at the start and not losing any Miis on the early levels.

It's probably still going to be a while before I try again. It's Project DIVA week after all...

NA 3DS got the Yoshi puzzle yesterday. JP 3DS still doesn't have it.

Flower Town question:

The best way to get seeds for new flower types is to grow flowers in that family, right?

I only have two flowers left, both in the Festiva family. My strategy for obtaining them is to continually grow Birthday Blossoms in hopes of getting those final elusive seeds. Is there anything else I can be doing or do I just need to continue on with this strategy?

I think this is made tricky because the Festiva family is 100% rare breeds. I don't know how the game selects new rare breeds to pop up, but you're certainly going to have to be using plant pals (people you've passed two or more times) to get it unless you happen on someone who is carrying one of the flowers you need.

I've gotten a ton of streetpasses from walking around with it at my university, which is fairly big. I also have had a lot of luck on public transportation and walking around the nearby city. I usually get at least a couple on a normal day, and I can get my 3DS full of them I go to the more populated areas of the nearby city.

My plot to have my Japan-only puzzles filled out by mooching pieces off a friend with a JP 3DS who went to Japan last month ended up failure when he lost his 3DS during the trip T_T

Yesterday I was coming home from a day out. I was waiting for a bus and by the time it showed and I took my seat, I checked the street pass I had and someone around here has a JP 3ds and is already playing Monster Hunter 4. I'm not into that series, but I'm jelly there are probably some JP only games I may be missing out on. This was in Boston.

Question, guys. So, having just gotten a 3DS a few months ago, I've been pretty addicted to StreetPassing. So much so that I've started to pop into the McDonald's the next block over pretty regularly for the sole purpose of those Nintendo Zone passes (I buy a coffee, too).

Anyways, for a few months, I've always gotten 6 StreetPasses from this Nintendo Zone, as well as other Nintendo Zone locations. So happens that I've been there two days in a row, and I only got 4 passes each time. Even sat down and drank my coffee today, so I know I wasn't rushing. What gives?

Europe here. Just got the Yoshi puzzle. Am also nearly at 300 coins (298). Convenient timing (and I don't need to shoot my brains out playing the secret quest to use the coins).

Now can I be bothered to get this one up to 32/40 this time? Edit: Made it to 30.

I just experienced a glitch in Puzzle Swap.

My 3DS was closed, but Plaza was the open app, when I saw the light flash blue to signify the Yoshi puzzle had arrived. I was happy to see a little exclamation point on the Puzzle Swap icon, alongside the other games, as I was putting this morning's passes to use.

I entered Puzzle Swap, received the new Yoshi piece (blue) and proceeded to see if any of my passes had any others, expecting nothing. Sure enough, none of them could help, so I decided to spunk 10 play coins on the new puzzle.

The very first piece I got was the same piece I received from Nintendo, and it registered as a new piece. A complete waste of two play coins. Not a complete nightmare, but a curious little glitch.

I'm curious to see if it can be recreated by being at the minigame selection screen with streetpasses in tow when the new data arrives. I also wonder what would have happened if I had initially gotten a pink piece.

So despite being in a different country public WiFi hotspots auto downloaded the new puzzle for me. Yet despite it being this easy no one I have passed have yoshi pieces.

It was quite refreshing having a week away from streetpass relays and civilisation.

Back to work and Streetpass Garden now.

I'm just one puzzle box away from netting all the plaza tickets, except for 300 monarchs! I'm at 219 monarchs. But still, woo hoo!

Managed to get all but two pink Yoshi pieces too.

However, there is still one piece of music I haven't unlocked. It's between StreetPass Garden Courtyard and StreetPass Garden Choose a Garden Area, so am gonna assume it has something to do with unlocking all the breeds, of which I have four more to find.

I've been taking a break on this too, haven't taken my 3DS out for the past two weeks.
Now there's a new puzzle though I'll start bringing him along again.

I think getting all flower colours is slowly but surely destroying me :(

Friend's Garden. You never passed anyone who played the game? Poor you :(

If you pass other players click on their Mii and there is the option to see their favorite garden. Most people don't touch the favorite garden setting...(shame I set mine up...)

Ah, good. I'll get that a bit later today then. :)

Good work. Is that all plaza tickets done then?

I just got the last puzzle box, so just those monarchs to go. 81 of them. :/

Nope. I'm not particularly dedicated to that pursuit.

I still have to get to castle rank 20 in battle. I can't be bothered to get all the puzzle boxes in Mansion.

Not sure about the other two games.

So I did take my 3DS out with me again today..... four pink Yoshi pieces!
Woah.
Waiting a little while pays off I guess.

A few people are playing PL vs PW, makes me feel sad for not starting it yet :(

I keep forgetting to check for Yoshi pieces since I am still trying to finish up the SM3DW puzzle. Though, since I have all of those pinks, I need to be checking on pinks for the Yoshi puzzle.

I sort of feel that getting the Yoshi pieces is sort of the best-citizen approach since it will help to spread the new pieces out to more people, even if this comes at the expense of my progress with the SM3DW puzzle.

Someone has got to explain me what's wrong with my 3DS.

So today I went to the university with a friend and my black 3DS XL, she had her original 3DS as well, we stuck together for the whole day until we got back on the train.

She got 7 streetpasses, I got 2.

WHY? We were literally next to each other for the whole day!

It's not a unique occurrence, every damn day she goes home with 7-10 contacts, while I manage 5 at best... on a GOOD DAY.

Is there something I'm missing in this whole thing?

There were thoughts that the XL had larger wireless range. A thing to bear in mind is a 3DS can only interact with I think one other 3DS (OR an internet connection) at a time so it might just be the case that the systems you do pass your friends system hits them up first and the opportunity passes by when it is your turn. There are other things that could happen like the friend fills the queue on the game so you can't get a hit. Still these don't go as far as explaining why you would get constantly less.

It might also be something really simple like where you store your system compared with her. It could be say some casing is decreasing the wireless range and as such you are missing out on possible connections.

So my random question I want to get off my chest. At least once a week (but usually only once) I get two notifications the first is about streetpass relay points (I've even got these from Nintendo zones which makes it sad) and the second is about Miiverse. I assume it is because I am not signed up to an NNID but does anyone else suffer from the same?

I might as well at least try and get some more of the plaza tickets.

I haven't played the shooter in months. I only have 15/22 tickets. I've forgotten how to play.

I think I'm at 2110 passes now.

And I just got the badge for 1000 streetpasses in Animal Crossing.

That's one mighty-fine ratio.

I am at floor 49 and I am trying get the best possible weapon before I face the final boss. In order to do this I am harvesting weapons from the lower floors.

Question for Monster Manor experts: What are the rules governing max-level increases?

I have picked Windkeeper's Fury to be my beast weapon and I have managed to accumulate a few of them in my inventory. The only thing I know for sure is that a given weapon can only absorb 2 other weapons of the same type (+2). My general goal is to incrementally combine the lowest/worst ones into +2s which I will then combine into other lower level ones until I can ultimately fold my final/best +2 into my final/best +1.

Has anyone else tried to do this? Will this effort produce a useful result or am I just wasting my time?

Wait, wouldn't that be positive for me? I'm the one who has the XL.

Good job!

...I'm barely over 50... v_v
I have an OG and an XL and my XL definitely has produced better result when I've taken them out together (I've only done this like 3 times though).

Two thoughts:

1) Your XL could possibly benefit from being fully restarted. For whatever reason my 3DSs have wonked out a number of different times and, baring any true understanding of what was going on, I have been able to solve the problem by hard-restarting the hardware. On this topic, it is probably worth fully emptying all of your various street pass queues as well. This has seemed to help at times as well though, again, I have no idea why.

2) It might have something to do with whatever bag/clothing you are keeping your XL in vs. however she is keeping her OG. That's just a wild guess though.

I heard legends of power saving ridicuslouly decreasing streetpass chances .... maybe you active and she didn't ?
