Dark Souls II |OT2| Prepare to Vengarl

I could use some weapon suggestions. I'm around SL150 at the bonfire down the hole in the drangleic castle. Str and dex are 40 each, haven't touched any magic stats beyond att for two pyro slots. I'm currently rocking an unupgraded Hammer from early game and a normal Zweihander+9. Hammer-L2 stunlocked and emptied the entire Iron Keep of enemies recently without any major issues, that thing is godly but I didn't dare spend twinks on one of my first weapons.

How many points do you need in Attunement to get 2 slots? Could do with being able to use basic spells and Pyromancy in the same area
You need 13 att.

When fully upgraded the Sun Sword has A rank scaling in both Strength and Dexterity. Would be perfect considering you have 40 Str and dex.

Took me about 8 tries to beat the Pursuer NG+ by parrying. The parry window is so small.

I had summoned a sunbro in NG+ and we easily beat it on his first visit in the middle of FotG castle.

No parrying necessary, just generous application of lightning spear to Pursuer's face.

DS1/DS2 could use a Boss Rush mode, ala Castlevania. Maybe to help keep the feeling we have now in the same world, and not a seperate "mode", they can make this option accessible from an area in Drangleic. Maybe a Mirror in a castle, a hall of paintings, or a well that replays the "memory" of bosses.

Anyway, can't wait to get home and play some more. NG+ is no joke.

Nice to hear he got it, but for others that are having difficulty, first kite all the mobs back towards the bonfire...THEN run by them all to fight the last knight...this buys you way more time.

Is that possible? I thought they'd start walking back after a certain distance. Plus you might get mobbed...

Either way, you have enough time to kill the one knight usually.

I only had 2 chasing me in the end. Wasn't too much trouble. Hardest part is learning to kill a knight.

Just got the game.

I wants to start deprived, is this an ok build? I wanted to have a fresh layout of skills and such and really start with nothing grow. Found a dagger so I only had to fisticuffs it for 1 or 2 enemys.

Also, the gift..any suggestions? I picked none cause I thought it would be a wise choice for my deprived build.

Lastly, any suggestions on a guide for like the first 30min of the game. Just a taste to get me started?

Is SL150 ample for NG+?

I'm running a DEX build with everything focused on agility and stamina; I have one attunement slot for a pyromancy spell. As for weapons, I have dual +10 Blacksteel Katanas and a +10 Murakumo at the ready. I've decided that I want to artificially challenge myself by relying on dual-wielding and dodging 80% of the time (+5 Defender's Shield waiting in the wings).

Am I going to have a baaaaaaaad time?

Nah man. Just think of it this way: there are people who can beat this game with fists at SL1. Theoretically you're buffed to shit. ;)

I have no idea, just started NG+ and am pretty terrified so far.

WTF.
I reset my stats towards DEX with some pyromancy and OMG

Pyromancy is SO OP.
I just defeated the final boss by basically using Chaos Storm twice (plus 2-3 physical blows). It takes almost half its HP.

I almost feel like I cheated or something.
The lore doesn't suggest it but in my playworld pyromancy is evil as shit, as are the people who use it.

So fuck the fucking (late game area)
Shrine of Amana
on NG+. And here I thought this place was bad on NG. This is the absolute worst thing to deal with in the game that's mandatory.

I really wish the Blue Sentinels would get something for defeating a sinner host. But I guess that is what makes invading more appealing.

lmao gifts arent as important as before where the master key was "thee" gift in DS1

Other then that, just go with it, deprived is ok, you will find weapons and gear on the way and searching through everything.

Loving this game, it feels great exploring another DS world.

What's everybody's death count?

I just killed my 7th boss, and I have 65 deaths. Actually less than I thought!

The smelter demon wouldn't be so bad if I could summon some help. I know that the one npc can be called but he dies like halfway through leaving me to get slaughtered.

Disconnect PS3/360 from the internet and check the monument in Majula.

I have never played this game while offline :D. I probably did one or two times but never checked the monument by the sea.

I actually didn't have much trouble with the S
hrine
of
Amana
. I equipped magic-resistant gear (including the Rebel Shield) and used poison arrows when I could find a sniping spot. I can one-hit-kill everything in the area (well, all but one enemy), so the key is just being slow and methodical so as not to aggro more than two enemies at once. t also summoned at two different points in the area, but both sunbros rushed into thickets of mages and died without offering much help. It's interesting seeing a huge range of skill levels in co-op again. The last few times I played Dark Souls, hosts could run the gamut, but allies were always pretty polished at PvE (whatever their PvP skills). Sometimes it was fun to tear through Oolacile Township without breaking a sweat, and sometimes it was anticlimactic seeing two other phantoms nuke a boss before I'd had to dodge a single blow.

So got the last miracles and pyromancy from Wellager in ng++. Got the pyromancy trophy but not the miracle trophy. After double checking it seems I for sure have every one..so was it a glitch and I'm screwed out plat? Anyone have any idea?

edit: nvm, figured it out

Before I stop playing the game, I just want to be summoned to help a Meekbro as a blue sentinel.

Fought off three invaders so far, dudes can't handle my barrel rush tactics.

I love the world and the atmosphere. It's more haunting than the first two games for sure.

So many great views and the bosses are better than ever.

Fast travel is gigity material.

I've gotten three people in a row by dropping a item right to the side of the lowest staircase on belfry luna and hiding in the little room in the back waiting for them to pick up the item and I release the kraken

time to try that in belfry sol and the rat cov area

I got a little cheeky with my blocking trying to beat some asshole invader up and he took me down to a sliver of health before I clobbered the ever loving fuck out of him. I could almost taste his salty tears through my Xbox.

Any tips on the p
ursuer
fight in the I
ron
K
eep [/spoiler}where you fight the
Smelter demon

I can't cheese him like the first time :(

My weapons scratch him

Damnit. I'm about to tackle the Warf, but I can see myself purposely dying if I don't get the armor drops off them. Seems to be the best method.

Kill them, then grab the pieces if they drop, then die, repeat.

yeah. either you port out or you simply die. You could also use a life prot ring to be able to perma summon Lucatiel to make it easier. Not really needed tho.

Is there any place i can buy fire arrows.
Black Gulch
is annoying the crap out of me. Freaking
statues
and
hand pools

I just run through as fast as possible, there is a route you can take where you won't get stuck or attacked. Right before the boss door use a moss and flask then enter immediately as the enemies follow. I tried the slow route but it is the only area in the game I can run through without getting fucked up.

My weapons and armor merchant hasn't updated his stock. Is there something blatant I missed? I'm nearing the end of the game and he has his starting supplies.

Do you ever figure out what the sounds are in the Majula Mansion?

Reminds me of whips or something.

i thought it was the pigs making sounds beside the house all the time. but what's really bothering me are the books. we never interact with them and one of those is pretty huge. maybe an entrance for another area in the future.
