Super Smash Bros. for 3DS & Wii U Thread 6: Final Destination confirmed for not fun

You know, for a franchise that has as many items and where items are as important as Zelda it deserves special treatment. Now to think of what other Zelda items they should bring over... spinner!

Toon Link could use more Wind Waker items, for one...

As items. Deku leaf is sorely missing, but that's really Wind Waker's only standout item. It probably won't be an item because the gust bellows does essentially the same thing except for the gliding ability. There was also the gust jar from Minish Cap and the whirlwind from Spirit Tracks.

Since Majora's Mask is an item, when Skull Kid is summoned while another Majora's Mask is on the stage he dons the Alfonzo mask instead! "It's not unusual to leave it to me!"

We're having many Zelda items lately

Indeed, not only this but between stages, character reveals and an Assist Trophy there's been quite a bit of Zelda love since the games reveal.
At this rate Ganondorf will be a veteran reveal before Yoshi turns up.

I do like my Zelda but I'd like to see other series get a bit more spotlighting, still waiting on a DK or Kirby stage for either game.

Pic of the day. The Gust Bellows can blow opponents away with its powerful wind blasts. When someone drops it, though, the gusts run wild! Out of the new items, more than a few will be from The Legend of Zelda series. We'll take the most interesting and straightforward ones and reformulate them to match the Smash Bros. world.

Nice! Another Zelda item :)
And according to that comment, I think there's going to be even more than the one's we already know about :D
I like where this is going

the legend of smash: Zelda's brothers
B^)

at least give me back my Great Bay stage from melee

I spent 50+ hours on skyward sword, really didn't feel like it too, time flew o_O

I'm under the impression that Zelda is getting all the spotlight in other areas because they won't get a newcomer

Okay.

Let's try this.

Let's not ever talk about upskirts, upskirt censorship, the hypothetical genitalia of Mario characters, or "waifus" ever again.

I skimmed through the few pages but I kept seeing discussion about ladies so I want to remind everyone what moderator said in previous threads. I don't really want to see anyone to get banned if they are not aware of the rules.

More Zelda items is a cool thing. Between this and the cucco I've rarely been so pleased with getting items.

Makes sense for a series that is based on using items has a lot of item representation in smash. I'm happy it's getting representation that way. I'd also like to see the ball and chain as an item, akin to the hammer.

I wonder if this smash bros will have a record number of items, or if a fair bit are being cut to make way for these new ones.

Edit: Also, wonder if fairy is replacing the heart piece. Makes more sense, lore-wise. While the heart is a bit cooler and easier to spot, the fairy actually restores health in those games.

Looks like the game is going to have a ton of new items.

I'd love to see Pokemon get a few items too. It's been kind of lame Pokemon is stuck with only Pokeballs, especially when the series has so many items.

I really hope that they are keeping most of good items from previous series.

Toon Link's recovery should be the Deku Leaf.

I hope they put the Skull Hammer. They could make it like DK's side-b and make characters get stuck in the ground and maybe cause characters to get spiked when used in the air.

Examples outside of healing items?

The notable Pokemon items I can think of are all... not really suited for Smashbros. Choice Scarf/Band/Specs, Life Orb, Fishing Rod, Bicycle, evolution stones, TMs.

Back to Zelda stuff, I'm honestly not too keen on the beetle as a Smash item. If you control like in SS at all, it just seems too slow.

I hope more franchises will get the treatment Zelda's getting. Kid Icarus Uprising has a huge arsenal of items that'd work well in Smash.

I'd also like to see Fire Emblem's glass weapons. Those'd be fun.

Fishing Rod could work. It would be a team items where you could save your own partner from the death by hooking them out of zone.

Leftovers!

Could be like the franklin badge or screw attack, where once you grab it, it frees up your 'item' hand, so you dont have to throw it or anything, and it just recovers 2-3% every 5 seconds for maybe 30 seconds to a minute.

Yeah, I was just playing last night and thought the 'back shield' would be a really nice smash item.

It'd basically be like link's shield, but it's always floating behind your character, for maybe like 30 seconds.

Good update. To me, the more unique items that pay homage to the different Nintendo franchises, the better.

I'm ok with the Zelda franchise getting a lot of items. The series is full of really cool stuff that would make for neat items for SSB.

I'm hoping we get at least one more assist trophy from the series too.

Skull Kid and maybe a Goron.

An interesting idea but I think this would be too situational/gimmicky to work well in execution, even using Team Healer successfully can be a hassle (providing your opponents are on the ball) and that's much simpler in concept.
Plus a fishing rod doesn't really scream pokemon, seems a better fit for Animal Crossing (with the more distinct Golden rod as well).

Ok, leftovers are a really good idea, don't know why those didn't come to mind. Fishing rod could work too, that would be interesting (though perhaps a little redundant with Villager... but Ness's bat has shown that's ok).

Probably not. SS is a middle/upper middle tier Zelda, so if your favorite is one of the best ones, the statement is probably false. It's also false if your favorite Zelda happens to be Skyward Sword, so it's definitely no tautology.

Looking forward to what the rest of these new items are, this one looks cool

MGR doesn't even have many good soundtracks
that's right, come at me

Oh, hell no! You did not just say that *prepares for fight*

Skyward Sword > Your favourite Zelda

What a funny way of spelling Majora's Mask

Is that item replacing this attack?

Isaac confirmed character now???

Please Sakuraiiiiiii

I want to see more items from other franchises like Blue Shell, E-Tank (Mega Man), Fire Shield (Sonic), etc. I just realized that we didn't even get any items from third party franchises in Super Smash Bros. Brawl.

Blue Shell
Fire Shield
E-Tank
Bramble Seed - Golden Sun item
Weasel's Claw - Golden Sun item
Shuriken - Mysterious Masamune Castle
Treasure Chests - Kid Icarus (It should toss out some items but it will have 25% chance to ended up being Mimicutie)

Leftovers is a great idea. There are no gradually healing items in Smash right?

Maybe if you get hit a number of times, you lose it. It can heal every 3 seconds and lasts for 30 seconds. It should heal 6.25% (1/16) of damage like it does in the games.

We might get Tingle as Assist Trophy again.

I find the idea of the Blue Shell as an item to be amusing, the guy with the most stock picks it up, throws it right and is then killed by the shell ;)

Choice Band could TOTALLY work man!
:P

Really hope an April direct announces the remaining Brawl veterans, and then an E3 Direct gives an August release date with a few new entrants.
