What about poise though? Is leaving mine at min going to leave me more open to being stunned more often?

Are we convinced of poise? I run the poise ring kind of a lot cause I like the glow but I can't say I've noticed any genuine effect, or maybe I'm just, you know, not noticing lol.

Everything is so damn subtle in this game.

Might just be an effect of 4 ring slots - every ring was made less effective and therefore less noticeable?

Poise is really weird right now. I'm not sure anyone outside FROM knows how it works quite yet. It barely seems to help me even if I wear super tanky armor.

Seems pretty useless to me. I haven't stacked heavy armor + giant's ring though. But increasing poise slightly is pointless

This too. I love the 4 ring slots though, it's going to be hard to go back. My four rings are deliberately and efficiently selected for each build. Even with four slots, I always find something more useful than ring of binding or life/soul protection. I thought the latter ring was a bit too overpowered, but you're just gimping yourself out of something else if you ever use it.

I wear full Drake Keeper and have 82 Poise and do notice a difference between my farming gear and my regular gear in terms of stun locking and hyper armor (where it seems to be active).

Drangelic Castle, Shrine of Amana, Undead Crypt, Aldias Keep, Dragon Arie, Dragon Shrine are all such stellar levels, I also love Iron Keep - that as a whole they match, if not exceed some of the best areas in DKSI.

While there may be some less than impressive areas (not a big fan of Harvest Valley or Brightstove Cove Tesdolra or whatever) - none of them stink as bad as Lost Izalith or Demon's Ruins. I don't hate them - they just didnt leave much of an impression on me

I couldn't disagree more. Not only do those later areas represent the part of the game where you are just going where things guide you with no story or reason, but they lack any of the interactivity of some of the earlier areas. The really good areas for me were early on, like the forest\Lost Bastille, and it was later that the game made me dislike it compared to DS1. Sure DS1 had that one terrible area, dragon butt lava central, but you had no reason to ever go there. No great items and a shortcut that led right over it so you could look down on people that actually went though it.

I think I'm finally getting somewhere.
Down are 3 of the old ones, Rotten, Iron King and Freja, just one left to go. They were disappointingly easy fights, hope the next one is a little more challenging.

btw, I got to Ornifex the Smith and see that there is a bonfire in the room next to him, but I can' open the door, It "opens from the other side", how do I get there?

Incorrect door - it's one more to the right

Oh joy, oh fucking joy. I pulled that lever in the Keep, and now the asshole mage I freed wants me to die. I was just minding my own fucking business when out of fucking nowhere the wall explodes killing me. Why the fuck couldn't he just use the door? "Hey Alim, I'm here to wreck your shit and I got a big fucking ogre to bash your head in". What a jackass.

Lol that dude will invade you for the rest of the game so get rekt. I personally will pull that lever in NG+ once i finish that dude's quest i wanna see what's all the fuzz about.

You are the first person I've seen go that route. The one you haven't defeated is usually the first one people go for, I would imagine.

Can I still do the Benhart quest if I talked to him in the
memory
? (Not 100% if I did though). Either way, what's the point of no return for his quest?

People who are doing caster builds need to realize that leveling ATT raises Agiltiy, which is the only reason to level ADP.

In my opinion ADP is only worth it if you're a melee only character who is feeling a bit sluggish. After abandoning the stat after my first character I really don't notice a difference.

ATT increases agility at a much worse rate.

Yes, and he has no point of no return, as long as you don't murder him you can still complete his questline.

Im having so much trouble with the
spider queen a..k.a Freja?
cant seem to avoid her attacks. And my Black Knight halbrad does only litle damage to her head :(

I recommend doing a bunch of co-op to learn the attacks. easy place to get summoned. The
laser is the real killer, but it's very, very telegraphed. always run to the other end when it's gonna happen, run counterclockwise / to the right.

You can roll under the laser beam i think. I did the fight with two other guys but a good strategy is to keep moving, hit one head then run for the other one and damage it.

And the only one of the four that's challenging, really

Had a lot more trouble with
Freja
myself.

Continually strafe to your right and the boss itself should never hit you. The hardest part is managing her minions and finding the time to attack with all those spiders on your ass.

So I've been having a muck around with my two maces in that power stance use both at once thing and it's great. But a couple of questions I've got about some things:
  1. Should I use a morning star or just infuse one mace with bleed?
  2. What is best to infuse a mastadon greatsword with?

Are you entirely melee? The easiest way to do her if you have any halfway decent ranged attack is to just stay back, wait for her beam, shoot, and outrun the beam. You'll want to aoe the minispiders at the start to free things up.

I agree with rolling under. I started off trying to strafe away from the beam, but I got caught both times. Moving forward and rolling under was much safer.

The key is just to get closer to her when she does the laser attack. The closer you are, the less ground you need to cover when running away from the laser. The fight is 100% trivial once you start doing that.

I was a little disappointed that
Drangleic Castle
was so short. I was hoping for a situation like Anor Londo where you have an extended stay there and enjoy the atmosphere.

I actually felt like Anor Londo - for as strong as a first impression it makes, really did leave me wanting more. You see this huge sprawling castle - and you want to run around and explore every bit of it, but you get like - a wing of the castle.

Joined Way of the Blue, got invaded twice and nobody came for help. Tried to keep the fight going for minutes and ended up getting myself killed. After the first time i thought maybe i should be using the ring, so i put it on, and still nothing. WTF...

So I'm fighting a
Medusa in a poison room. I assume there's some way to drain the poison from the room?

Can someone give me a hint, not the actual solution? Just a hint on what to do.

I think you have to be human?

Beyond that the whole Blue thing has issues from all sides. Could be anything.

Go to the floor below and light a torch..walk the small ledge thats next to a windmill and you can set it on fire which will drain the poison

N.B. Everyone: a hint for that would be "fire."

Or "notice the turning gears?"

Not
windmill. Or the actual solution.

perhaps I missed something, but is there any point in lighting the torch statue in
Undead Crypt
??

it was pretty cool to see what happens, but there is something besides the show?

Before the long hallway leading to
Mirror Knight
there's a small bust of a certain figure that stands out to me. Anyone know if it's relevant?
